yeah, mobo supported has no relation with gc rams
so buy something u need and can afford
but might want to consider if ur others specs wil bottleneck the card u get or not
like for example getting 8800ultra for a p4 pc will be a waste of money, since the processor can't keep up with the gc power

download a software called cpu-z

the metals inside it can be recycled
maybe the electronics parts like transformers, diodes, transistors though if u say it's dead, probably most of these are burnt anyway

currently my desktop using an old 20gb IDE harddisk.. seems too small to store stuff so i'm thinking of getting a bigger one during pc fair this weekend.. my ultra-simple question is do i get IDE or SATA drive? my mobo does support SATA..

not sure if there's much difference between the two types of harddisk..
*
well technically sata transfer speed is faster, but then normal human reaction can't really notice it, it's too fast for us to catch, unless u do stress tests.
also, sata hdd is 1 to 1, unlike ide hdd where u need to set master and slave

QUOTE(emiya_shin @ Dec 4 2007, 08:22 PM)
How do I get another IDE cabel on my mobo? Used up already.
*
just go to any computer shops and buy
ide cable is a common component tat any respectable computer shop will have.

so u're saying its not worth the money&time to upgrade to a sata drive? so a big IDE drive is still the best way to go? smile.gif
*
eh, if not mistaken, the price is almost the same for both, so just get sata la, next time if u upgrade pc can move it ma, cos ide is kinda being phased out, newer mobos these days offer only 1 ide port, while they have loads of sata ports

Can I play anything high def with my Radeon 9600 PRO? I'm thinking of playing games like Bioshock and COD4.
*
not likely, u be lucky if u can use low-medium settings

QUOTE(fubu233 @ Dec 10 2007, 07:21 AM)
how come ddr1 value rams are much more expensive then ddr2 value rams ?
*
cos ddr1 ram aren't being produced anymore, all those on the market are just old stock
thus it's like antique...
certainly u dun see antiques being sold at cheap price right?

how old is the laptop?
is it still under warranty?
i got a free 2 years warranty last time, and if not mistaken only first year is covered internationally, while the subsequent 2 years the warranty is only covered locally
y dun u call up the tech support number and ask for the malaysia support?
the main service center is located in USJ, Selangor

it's sli for nvidia cards, or crossfire for ati cards
the performance wont be doubled, but at max 1.8x only, and only if application is written to make use of the sli or crossfire
and i dun think there's X35 chipset, more likely X38 and P35, u can read up on them on wiki urself, basically X38 is the newer chipset from intel now

now nothing much actually as the usual stuffs we fix last time are mostly built in on new gen mobos, but u can still fix a even older gc than agp type card if u want for old times sake, network card, sound card just to name a few

well for lcd, if the refresh rate is too low, u see shadows following ur pictures
sort of trailing pictures as the pixels can't remove the old images fast enuff for your eyes to notice them when they changes
