depending on wat card u meant
high end card of course consume power and requires it's own power supply from the psu, while lower end 1 can run using the pci-e or agp slot's power

did u switch the source input of ur lcd?
depending on brand, there should be a button for u to use either analog or digital input option

cos the 1 drop of thermal paste will be quashed like jam when u attach the hsf to the processor.....
if u put too much it will overflow to the side, might cause short circuit

yes, they are backward compatible, depending on which 1 ur mobo support
the cable for data transfer and power supply are the same
for example, you should have no problem plugging in a sata2 hd onto a mobo tat support sata1 only, just the speed will be limited at sata1 speed,but it's hardly noticable

QUOTE(mono_demon @ Oct 21 2007, 04:54 PM)
can i replace my floppy to ide hdd? i mean can i use the floppy power cable to power the hdd

can i insert the hdd ide data cable to the connectors where my floppy is before? worried if the ide connectors at the mobo is for floppy only..

n can i install both sata n ide hdd on 1 computer? will it effect the computer performance?
*
in case u din notice, the power source of floppy power connector is not the same as ide power connector
also, u cannot use the ide port meant for floppy to harddisk.
they might look the same but they are not the same
and there should be no problem using sata and pata together, it's just a matter of connection
if ur mobo has sata ports, support should not be a problem

no
it must be of the same series
say 1950 but does not matter what version it is,such as PRO, XT or XTX
u can't put 1600 together with 1950 as far as i know

yeah
tat's about the only speed still sold around in shops if u can get it
even those are old stock, as ddr1 rams are no longer in production
anyway if u still want to buy ddr1 for ur mobo, it will only run at 333 speed
but for the costs of ddr1 ram, might be better off getting a low end rig

1)ram type, in the case of ddr the higher number the better
2) dun u know when u buy ur pc?
3) if u mean for graphic card slot, check from ur mobo manual
for processor and mobo model, u can download a program called cpu-z

eh, graphic slot is mainly using pci-express 16x now, older 1 uses agp slot
pci slot is another thing
assuming ur sound card is is pci, u should not have problem installing it on a new mobo
btw, mobo is short for motherboard
but why want to use old soundcard? most onboard soundcard is better than older pci cards, and most ppl can't hear the difference also

geforce is not a brand, it's a series of card designed by nvidia, and then distributed to third party manufacturer like sapphire, asus, leadtek, gigabyte

S+GBe/Sata 2
tat 1 mobo specs?
S = onboard sound
G = onboard graphic i think
Be = i dunno
Sata2 = means it support sata 2 harddisk

can you like provide the model of the mobo and graphic card?
u post like tat, hard to know which mobo u are asking about, and also which graphic card
well for gc, the current bargain is nvidia's 8800gt 512mb, for bout 1k or so
most brands are almost the same, see what items they provide with the graphic card only

well i prefer ntfs for all my hard disk drives, including c for all of it's strong points
fat on the other hand offers compatibility with older os, but dun think u will really need tat on a desktop rig
not like u gonna move ur harddisk around
