tell u wat, samsung monitor sold by the original distributor at pc fair is more expansive than lowyat's price

and if u got no budget now, better revise ur specs when u had the budget. pc tech changes very fast, even in a month or 2.

some of the graphic card sold might come with a dvi-analog converter, so better check the package when you buy it
as clawhammer said, most if not all gc these days come with only dvi

QUOTE(DeathChaosX @ Feb 27 2008, 06:11 PM)
digital is the one with many small small holes one issit? and the analog is the one with 3holes only?
*
DVI is usually white in color with many small squarish hole, and analog is usually blue in color with 9 pin holes if not mistaken, not 3 pin holes

QUOTE(wen9x88 @ Feb 27 2008, 07:14 PM)
can i SLI with one 8800GT and one 9600GT??
*
can't u do some reading before asking stupid questions?
i remember u around in other ppl's SLI thread before, and it's already been repeated gods know many times tat SLI option is only applicable to 2 same GC....
u asking crap questions like SLiing a 8800gt and 9600gt really asking to be flamed on

QUOTE(ktek @ Feb 28 2008, 03:37 PM)
either he read wrongly or he meant last time X1000 series 2+1 concept. X1600 was being used for physics in conjunction with two X1900 XT video cards for graphics.
user posted image

btw your little mistake, VGA analog out is 15pin, COM1 serial port is 9pin.
*
thanks for the correction bout analog input, been using dvi for so long tat i forgot how many holes it has already
but i find hard tat some1 can read wrongly simple question like the 1 posted by wen9x88...it's direct, and hardly comes with any twist, abit it being crappy in the first place

the 64-bit vista and normal 32-bit
if i buy a computer from a shop.
i need to ask him to install the 64-bit vista and normal 32-bit?
or can change it to the 64-bit vista and normal 32-bit anytime?
*
vista in 64-bit form only available in ultimate boxed version...are u willing to pay tat much?i think it will cost bout 1k+
it's not like are u are gonna really utilised 64-bits OS or programs besides getting the full 4gb of rams
better off getting home premium oem or at most ultimate oem
and lowyat ppl dun help to install pirated stuffs on general when u buy pc from them, they need to cover their own asses too

QUOTE(amduser @ Mar 21 2008, 09:33 PM)
the simple answer will be pcie 2.0 faster than 16x.

pcie 2.0 offers more bandwidth than 16x, more data transfer, so it will be faster, not a noticeable in performance improve.
u need to X2, becoz u're using DDR2, dont know it is true or not, but i know u need to multiple by 2.
*
the ram clock speed x2 is not becos it's ddr2 la....get ur facts right before answering la
ddr1 also same la you have to x2 like this
u get the x2 from the double in Double Data Rate (DDR) lar
for more technical explanation, read up on wiki bout ddr technology

what will happen when the psu cant handle the gaming rig?
because i try to get my gaming rig first, and then get the silverstone ST56F when i get money.
*
usual symptoms, pc restart, or screen blackout during heavy graphic processing
mind u, these kind of things can spoil the hardware

if old mouse and keyboard can be used, settle for tat first, hdd, u need extra space? bear in mind new mobo usually only has 1 ide port, so tat's usually reserved for optical drive and not hdd

erm, not enuff budget ar, if not mistaken ur mobo comes with built in gc right?
use tat first lor, dun need to get the 8800gt first, just refrain from playing high end games

based on ur planned rig, suggest u do away with adding casing fans, as basic casing fans already good enuff, use back old keyboard and mouse, reduce the monitor to 19" wide or normal, or even scale down ur 8800gt to 9600gt
save u bout 700-800 like tat

obviously the difference in the bandwidth where PCIe is twice of that of agp as you can see from the 16x for PCIe and 8x for agp due to the difference in architecture.
more bandwidth means more graphic data can pass thru at the same time and resulting in better graphic processing result

If I use an sli supported motherboard like Gigabyte N650SLI-DS4L with just 1 gpu, will it work?

What I meant was, will it function even if I only use 1 gpu.
*
yeah no problem, the sli board just has 2 pci-e if u want to sli
no problem fixing single card to it
but why pay more for sli board if u are not gonna use it?

i dunno u know how to read english 1 or not...
most here already told u tat complete pc setup has almost no discount at pc fair, and some components might have higher price somemore like samsung monitor
somemore u want to wait in the crowded pc fair for them to setup the pc for u? i dun think they even do tat most of the time.
you still insist on checking out pc fair....
might as well drive to lowyat now and get it instead of waiting 7 days more...

oh, if u have been checking out reviews of 9600gt done by a few here, tat's the best budget GC now, for price ranging from 580+ - 650+ like tat for a slightly lower performance compared to 8800gt tat's barely noticable by normal eye.

and like i said earlier, u dun need to add any more casing fans, i think the fans tat come with raidmax ninja is pretty adequate
