Hi guys,
it's my turn for my noob question.....will an insufficient power supply from PSU cause system to be instable/hang ???
*
yeah, especially when u are running stuffs tat needs more power than ur psu can supply
usual culprit will be gc, especially the high end 1

here's the scenario....My compaq PC comes with 350W PSU, with 1 harddisk, and 1 CD ROM.
Myself upgraded:
1. Additional 1 Harddisk
2. Additional 1 DVDR-ROM
3. Additional 1 PCI Modem
4. latest addition : long hours of torrents

I used to experience "hang" within the Windows Explorer. now, with my brother constant torrent, the whole system hang. I have to actually reset the whole system.

So, confirm PSU to be blamed??

hard to diagnose just like tat
psu might just be 1 of the reason
there's a lot of reason ur problem might occur, such as corrupted os, memory conflict, gc overheating
how about u try reformating ur os with a clean installation?

Ok here is my question,my ram is ddr2667 running at dual channel. When I open my cpu-z is seems my ram frequency is running at 315 instead of 333.What's the problem. My rig is stated in my siggy. Thanks alot people as I'm still quite new to computers.

To determine ram chipset you can try looking at the chips on the ram.You will see the manufacturer of the chips stated on the ram stick.(Correct me if I'm wrong)

What brand PSU was that? i opened my brother's PC (hewlet packard) and saw FSP installed inside there.. real power on ordinary PC...
ur PSU might causing the prob, and maybe not..

since u r using DDR667, the ram's frequesncy is CPU/6, where 2200/6 = 366.7MHz
so i guess either;
- u enabled the CnQ
- u set the divider to DDR533, which is CPU/7 = 2200/7 = 314.2MHz

my noob question:

RAID0 mode = not RAID right?

QUOTE
By definition RAID level 0 is not RAID because it does not provide data redundancy.  Data is striped across all drives without parity.

u mean solder the wires of both fans to ONE 4 pin molex?

if thats whay u mean, then yes can...i did the same thing to my dead 80mm PSU fans... 2 fans using ONE 4pin molex. and they both work at full 12v.
