Is anyone tried this model Sharp 4TC60AL1X running on Android?

Is this model same as LC60UA6800X? As both having quite similar specs and running on Android platform.

The 4TC60AL1X starts flooding in lazada now and im not sure if this is the replacement of the lc60ua6800x.

There were a few comments made, maybe hard to find.... try searching.

I know the 2 are much the same except for 2 of 4 hdmi ports at the side while 4 are at the back for older one.

New one is lighter, thinner overall.

Unclear if all sizes of new model are backlit or only selected sizes.

Androidtv shud be same, android8.0.

Ua6800x is about 1.5 years old... mine is almost a year old, happy enuf with it.

I do not have older one. Was thought looking for 6800 model but bump into this. Price wise more or less the same so perhaps can het either one if price are attractive. Another model which im eyeing is sony android but they only have 65" available.

i wud suggest u visit the stores and view the 2 sharp models side by side, get some idea the PQ diff besides the price.

i have not done that as i am not looking for new tv.

about sony... i have not used or even looked closely.

i wud think the androidtv wud b the same as it is the same google certified os.

however, i have read some sony androidtv users saying they find it laggy.

really, i do not know what this laggy means... becos the sharp does not lag at all but very normal.

i can say that becos i am using both ua6800x (anndroidtv 8.0) and ue630x (androidtv 6.0).

u gotta try to find more info... but i think the sony threads aren't active, not much u can get.

Yes bro. Not only sony android but I find that not many fancy getting tv running on android os..probably higher price or they prefer android box running separately. Im a lazy person so I hope to only have all in one devices which can support movie apps.

i use both androidtv and boxes.

androidtv is convenient... just switch on the tv, click-click, u get news, videos, apps, etc... incl astrogo and unifi playtv.

boxes can do more, more versatile, depending on what box and what u want.

if u venture into boxes, i have only one pc of advice - there are like 1,000 boxes out there... know which one serves yr purpose best... rm88 to rm1.8k.

Just a stupid question. It support most of movie streaming apps right? I mean the major one as this is my main reason and usage for android.
Im not into android box as my requirement are rather low and do not wish to have many plugs around my tv due to limitations of plug holes.

i can't say much unless i know which specific app(s).

androidtv may reject certain illegit apps that are deemed to be malicious, contain malware, etc.

What about those apps like BeeTV, Live NetTV, SportsTV?

Also if go to website and download the apk file, it can be install into the TV?

generally ok, but there will be some that case trouble... ads, trojans, etc.

a matter of where u get those apk's.

my advice is if u are into those illegit/unknown apps, better get a separate box so as not to f up the tv.

but if u mainly use legit/approved and "clean" apk's, androidtv is fine.

i have used many "clean" apk's, all OK.

When watching movies with dark background, the edges of the tv are not completely black. Picture quality is good for other movies. I thought it was light leakage. Sharp technical department came and said it's normal. Is this true?

Hmm...i didnt notice on my Sharp 50" UA6800X. I think Sharp technical BS you...

My crappy AOC monitor got lots of light bleeding around the edge for sure. Normal for crappy quality AOC monitor.

Im downloading the standard version from other given links and seems failed. Google store also couldnt find RSS if search from tv despite uts there if search via phone.

since u like rss androidtv, go to playstore, find adrama - not as good but it may have stuff u may like.

there is also zaltv but u need the right code to get it going.

I have downloaded adrama and its quite decent. For chinese apps like rss and adrama are mainly for my wife while im more on english movies and live football.

For english apps, im currently have beetv, cyberflix, cinemahd and mobdro. If u have any good recommendations feel free to share ya.

Thank you AVFAN for leading me here. I want to know whether android tv will become slow in future? I'm considering to buy 50inch model.

Main purpose for this TV is for a movie, ps4 and YouTube videos. The most important thing is, I'm not really know the lifespan or reliability of sharp TV. I have a good experience with Pana TV.

i do not have this model but have the previous 2 models, ua6800x and ue630x.
both are 4k smart TV with AndroidTV; former is 1 yr old, latter is 3.5 yrs old.

there are comments floating around somewhere like "androidtv can't play after 2-3 years" or "androidtv is very sluggish".

androidtv is a specialized os from google; it doesn't die!
while the updates will cease after 2-3 years becos tv maker will not keep upgrading, the TV will keep working like any other TV.
say the TV today with android8 gets a last upgrade to android 9 in 1 yr, the android will not be obsolete for another 4-5 years.
i have 8 year old android4 devices that are still working.
the TV itself is unaffected for normal functions of hdmi input like ps4, android box, DVD player, Astro...

about longevity, nobody has all the statistics but i find them very lasting.
last 10 years, i had a total of 5 sharps; one had slight bleeding after 8 years, the rest all still working good, never had warranty issues.

as for sluggish, i do not know other brands but sharp androidTV is NOT sluggish.

it is very useful to have androidTV if u already know how androids work, have use it on phones and tablets.
that way, u will easily get to know how to install apps and use it nicely.

Youtube, netflix are preinstalled apps, easy to use with just the remote control which has voice search function too.

i cannot comment the specifics of al1x since i am not using one.
do ask the owners in this thread to comment on specifics if u need.

lastly, dun forget this tv is a mid-range TV, try to compare with similar size and prices only.
always trust your eyes and wallet, not "expert reviews" by other people who had never used it!

I bought this unit after comparison between this model and Sony Android model and very much informative guidance from AVFAN.

So far so good, the Android OS is a notch advance compared with my Smart TV. You can install apk apps but do not expect all apps can be installed smoothly like in your phone as some will be blocked or not compatible with Android TV. However no regrets, the TV is decent and no lags, acceptable PQ and audio.

I have an additional questions here. Does this tv can detect subtitles from mkv file and does this tv have an optical audio output. My current setup is using HTiB for surround speaker. It connect using optical to HTiB.

Honestly, I have not tried playing the mkv file with sub as nowadays I just stream the movies. Perhaps expert AVFAN can shed some light on this.

Update: Now can access play store without doing anything.

I already bought the sharp 50" android. Now i have a problem to access play store. I connect to internet by LAN cable and i confirm the internet was accessible because I play a youtube video. However, when I try to access play store, it notify me no internet connection. I also already login google id.

It may be updating something...

Try not to cut power when tv not in use, better use remote off button to put on standby.

Also, if u find the homescreen sluggish, go to settings, about, restart.

This will restart the android, clear cache and unwanted stuff.

6800x is about >1 year old; al1x, a few months.

both selling but can expect 6800x to be phased out first.

Bought Sharp 4TC60AL1X, after reading n infleunced by AVFAN... haha

It was first installed at living room, changing from 40" Toshiba to Sharp 60", sitting 9feet away. Parent complaint too big, so move it to my own room, bed is 8feet away, macam watching mini cinema.

Was surveying 4K TV (non QLED/OLED) some time. Been using Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba and Sharp for different location. LG came along due to price n reviewsss.
If u noticed, most review mentioned abt LG, Samsung n Sony more frequent, saying similar pro/con. Then u begin to concern/worry abt: 60/120Hz native rate, VA panel, Edge/Direct, HDCP2.2, HDMI2.1, 4k upscaler, 4.4.4, wide colour gamut, eARC/ARC, DD/DTS...etc. almost vomit to read n understand alittle abt it.

Short-listed to Sony n Sharp due to its natural colour.
Sony 65X75F, 65X85F, Sharp 6800 n 60AL1X.

Went to afew BIG Electrical shop, eg: SengHeng, Senq, Hoe Huat, ESH, Oneliving...etc to compare actual TV with Astro content (non 4K content to see 4K upscaler ability).

Choosed Sharp 60AL1X, bcoz price is half of Sony 65X85F (this model has 4k upscaler, 65X75F dun), AnroidTV 8.0 smooth (so far tested pre-installed app Netflix n Youtube, with unifi 100mbps, instant, very clear)

Havent able to test it properly, will update again if possible.

1. Definitely need a mouse.
2. PQ is very low. Any way to increase resolution?

9 feet for 60" tv is fine. u will get used to it in no time. Mayb after some days u will think 60" is not big enough

PQ is low for those non-HD channels.

for HD channels like Celestial HD, AEC, AFC, Food Network, they are quite acceptable.

of course, if u use astrogo on a superior device/box, the PQ, like with other apps, is noticeable better.

Guys, did you on the surround on the TV speaker?
Honestly, I don't really like the surround sound of this model as my previous Samsung LED seems to have a better sound in standard. Or perhaps surround is meant to be as such?

I had an LG Smart TV before changing to my 4TC60AL1X. The built-in Astro Go on that had much better PQ!

Reboot the TV.

I don't know reboot already can solve. But shop person told me to restore factory setting and redo the remote pairing. Now everything ia fine.

Anyone here mind to share your picture setting for this tv. Mine so far only use a preset from sharp for movie mode. Need to dig back a calibration video.

I found on their homepage that lc60ua6800x can read both fat32 and ntfs format while 4tc60al1x can only read fat32. Is it true? Is it really matter on how they can read from our thumbdrive? i am quite sure that is the case but can't confirm as i do not hv this model.

how good is 4TC60AL1X in term of motion? from Sharp website it does not say it has AquoMotion whereas 4TC60AH1X has 200Hz (native probably 50-100>)..

and also 4TC60AH1X has direct lit compared to 4TC60AL1X edge lit

I bought 4TC60AH1X over 4TC60AL1X.
Hmmm the panel is so thin, I doubt is Direct LED?
Well beside Android, the connectivity also seem less alot. Dont have optical output.
And only 2 HDMI.
Well no complain for cheaper price lol.

How is the Pic quality? And how is the motion handling? This model doesnt use android rite?

So wanted to see forummers with AL1X to provide some input.

I'm not a particular person that will notice or go into fine details such as PQ or motions but so far this TV serves me well. Colour is natural and not overly saturated.
The Sharp Android system for this model works wonderfully as I understand other models from Sony experiencing laggy as per the feedback from other users.
Perhaps other sifus such as AVFAN can advise more as he own the LC6800 model which is almost similar to this.

Overall is good. The aquamotion is work, but I feel not as fluid like Sony's but let me have an AB test again.
Color wise is good enough for the pricing I can say. But when I compare to my Dell's IGZO 4K, still a big gap yet haha.
And have some backlight leakage when in totally dark room and dark scene. IMO for the pricing shld be behave same for all brand.
Speaker wise ok moderate. Just dont have Optical Output which I forgotten to check this spec.
However overall feel is good.
Oh ya this model dont have Android, which the loading will be much faster then android ver. for the pros. I will get an Android Box instead.

I have the 60AL1X, bought for rm2933 with rm300 Petronas voucher. With the 4 hdmi inputs and Android TV. Used for 2 months now, no complaints at all. Clear bright picture, adequate sound. No regrets at all.

Any love for AH1X? Seems not popular here. It's a smart tv (not android) but paper spec says it has Direct Lit and AquaMotion 200Hz, which are not available in AL1X.

AH1X is a lower range product than AL1X.

unless something very curious, i doubt it is better than al1x in any way.

make sense.. given the price of AH8X, it is cheaper than AL1X despite the paper spec advantage. I've seen both side by side, hard to say which is better. there is a slight difference but negligible.

Homestly the Android system for this model working flawlessly. No regret buying this unit and same comment goes to 6800 models that has been one of hottest model for Android tv lovers.

Hi all, would like to get some opinions from you guys on which one is a better deal:
1. Sharp 4TC50AL1X (RM2300 5 years warranty)
2. LG 49UM7290 (RM2000 2 years warranty)

Sharp has Android TV, and LG has webOS with Magic Remote which is quite interesting, however for this price range, how does the Sharp stack up to the LG and when it comes to PQ?

for me, when it comes to PQ, the best way to decide is from your own eyes. go to the shop that hv demo and experience it yourself.

i hv 4TC50AL1X myself, but samsung NU7090 looks better from my own eyes. at the end, bought this model because its cheaper 2019 model, and with android., just rm1.8k with 2yrs warranty from jintexelectronic. its worth it.

Just joined the Sharp Al1x family
My 10 year old 50" Samsung plasma died and bought 4tc70al1x at JJ to replace. Bought during member sale day - got >RM400 coupon that can be considered "rebate"
So far so good. Not an AV enthusiast though... so cant comment on technical things
just enjoying a larger screen than before with wife and kids

Yr tv runs on AndroidTV.

This is a major benefit u dun get in non ATV tv.

Hope u r using some ATV apps.

only using Netflix and youtube so far. Busy 2 weeks.
as my opinion so far, after playing some 4k youtube vids, difficult to unseen full hd from astro and Freeview ha ha

its been almost 3 weeks since i bought this model, but the 'chemical like' smells seems like wont go away..., even after i left it unplugged, open window and went out for 3 days, coming back again and the tv still smells.. its like a new paint smells... is this normal?

its my first time using LED tv so im not sure if this smell is normal. i dont hv this kind of smells from my previous aquos LCD tv.

Hi. For me it wasnt chemical smell but smelt like something had burnt smell that lasted for a few days.
no more such smell now

I couldn't smell any from my tv from the day I bought. Probably because my area is quite huge so the smells spread to other areas.

If the smell persist, perhaps you want to call the Sharp service centre and to seek for their opinions.

yes, already make complaint to jintexelectronics and their respond was super quick, immediately reply and get help from Sharp.

and today, sharp technician come and check, and guess what.? he said this smell is normal. he open the back of TV, doing inspection to the mainboard and he said all normal no defect. so cannot replace it. ...but, unfortunately during the time he open the tv, he accidentally knock my tv screen with his screwdriver. got dent on lower corner, like a tiny piece of glass already broken huhu...so he like "ok no choice we have to replace" ...phewwwwwww..... so lucky i bought sharp with warranty. he will get me a replacement this saturday, cannot replace immediately bcoz hv to do some paperwork .
