Dear sifus,
Is anyone tried this model Sharp 4TC60AL1X running on Android?
Is this model same as LC60UA6800X? As both having quite similar specs and running on Android platform.
Any Comment on Sharp Android TV 4TC60AL1X?

I know the 2 are much the same except for 2 of 4 hdmi ports at the side while 4 are at the back for older one. New one is lighter, thinner overall. Unclear if all sizes of new model are backlit or only selected sizes. Androidtv shud be same, android8.0. Ua6800x is about 1.5 years old... mine is almost a year old, happy enuf with it. Can't remember... do u have the older model ue630x? |

Not only sony android but I find that not many fancy getting tv running on android os..probably higher price or they prefer android box running separately. Im a lazy person so I hope to only have all in one devices which can support movie apps.i have not done that as i am not looking for new tv. about sony... i have not used or even looked closely. i wud think the androidtv wud b the same as it is the same google certified os. however, i have read some sony androidtv users saying they find it laggy. really, i do not know what this laggy means... becos the sharp does not lag at all but very normal. i can say that becos i am using both ua6800x (anndroidtv 8.0) and ue630x (androidtv 6.0). u gotta try to find more info... but i think the sony threads aren't active, not much u can get. all the best! generally ok, but there will be some that case trouble... ads, trojans, etc.
a matter of where u get those apk's. my advice is if u are into those illegit/unknown apps, better get a separate box so as not to f up the tv. but if u mainly use legit/approved and "clean" apk's, androidtv is fine. i have used many "clean" apk's, all OK. |

I have 4tc70al1x.
When watching movies with dark background, the edges of the tv are not completely black. Picture quality is good for other movies. I thought it was light leakage. Sharp technical department came and said it's normal. Is this true? |

For chinese apps like rss and adrama are mainly for my wife while im more on english movies and live football.there is also zaltv but u need the right code to get it going. For english apps, im currently have beetv, cyberflix, cinemahd and mobdro. If u have any good recommendations feel free to share ya. |

Thank you AVFAN for leading me here. I want to know whether android tv will become slow in future? I'm considering to buy 50inch model.
Main purpose for this TV is for a movie, ps4 and YouTube videos. The most important thing is, I'm not really know the lifespan or reliability of sharp TV. I have a good experience with Pana TV. |

QUOTE(capoi @ May 25 2019, 05:03 AM) Thank you AVFAN for leading me here. I want to know whether android tv will become slow in future? I'm considering to buy 50inch model. i do not have this model but have the previous 2 models, ua6800x and ue630x.Main purpose for this TV is for a movie, ps4 and YouTube videos. The most important thing is, I'm not really know the lifespan or reliability of sharp TV. I have a good experience with Pana TV. both are 4k smart TV with AndroidTV; former is 1 yr old, latter is 3.5 yrs old. the al1x is almost the same as the ua6800x, the androidTV (android8) is exactly the same, so do read a bit of this longer thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4488602 ue630x is an older model on android6, 4k non-HDR but has similar functions: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3811168/+1600 there are comments floating around somewhere like "androidtv can't play after 2-3 years" or "androidtv is very sluggish". androidtv is a specialized os from google; it doesn't die! while the updates will cease after 2-3 years becos tv maker will not keep upgrading, the TV will keep working like any other TV. say the TV today with android8 gets a last upgrade to android 9 in 1 yr, the android will not be obsolete for another 4-5 years. i have 8 year old android4 devices that are still working. the TV itself is unaffected for normal functions of hdmi input like ps4, android box, DVD player, Astro... about longevity, nobody has all the statistics but i find them very lasting. last 10 years, i had a total of 5 sharps; one had slight bleeding after 8 years, the rest all still working good, never had warranty issues. as for sluggish, i do not know other brands but sharp androidTV is NOT sluggish. it is very useful to have androidTV if u already know how androids work, have use it on phones and tablets. that way, u will easily get to know how to install apps and use it nicely. Youtube, netflix are preinstalled apps, easy to use with just the remote control which has voice search function too. i cannot comment the specifics of al1x since i am not using one. do ask the owners in this thread to comment on specifics if u need. lastly, dun forget this tv is a mid-range TV, try to compare with similar size and prices only. always trust your eyes and wallet, not "expert reviews" by other people who had never used it! |

QUOTE(capoi @ May 25 2019, 01:39 PM) I bought this unit after comparison between this model and Sony Android model and very much informative guidance from AVFAN. So far so good, the Android OS is a notch advance compared with my Smart TV. You can install apk apps but do not expect all apps can be installed smoothly like in your phone as some will be blocked or not compatible with Android TV. However no regrets, the TV is decent and no lags, acceptable PQ and audio. |

I connect to internet by LAN cable and i confirm the internet was accessible because I play a youtube video. However, when I try to access play store, it notify me no internet connection. Hi All,
Bought Sharp 4TC60AL1X, after reading n infleunced by AVFAN... haha It was first installed at living room, changing from 40" Toshiba to Sharp 60", sitting 9feet away. Parent complaint too big, so move it to my own room, bed is 8feet away, macam watching mini cinema. Was surveying 4K TV (non QLED/OLED) some time. Been using Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba and Sharp for different location. LG came along due to price n reviewsss. If u noticed, most review mentioned abt LG, Samsung n Sony more frequent, saying similar pro/con. Then u begin to concern/worry abt: 60/120Hz native rate, VA panel, Edge/Direct, HDCP2.2, HDMI2.1, 4k upscaler, 4.4.4, wide colour gamut, eARC/ARC, DD/DTS...etc. almost vomit to read n understand alittle abt it. Short-listed to Sony n Sharp due to its natural colour. Sony 65X75F, 65X85F, Sharp 6800 n 60AL1X. Went to afew BIG Electrical shop, eg: SengHeng, Senq, Hoe Huat, ESH, Oneliving...etc to compare actual TV with Astro content (non 4K content to see 4K upscaler ability). Choosed Sharp 60AL1X, bcoz price is half of Sony 65X85F (this model has 4k upscaler, 65X75F dun), AnroidTV 8.0 smooth (so far tested pre-installed app Netflix n Youtube, with unifi 100mbps, instant, very clear) Havent able to test it properly, will update again if possible. Cheers, |

Dear AL1X owner,
I need your help regarding remote control. During 1st day i bought this tv, i test out the voice search feature at the remote and it works. Now after more than a week, it now can't hear my voice. Before i refer back to shop, I like to hear from you all whether got any setting somewhere I accidentally change in tv itself? Thank you. |

Guys, did you on the surround on the TV speaker?
Honestly, I don't really like the surround sound of this model as my previous Samsung LED seems to have a better sound in standard. Or perhaps surround is meant to be as such? |

Hi. Im noobies here. Probably this is silly question. I hv been comparing lc60ua6800x and 4tc60al1x. I found on their homepage that lc60ua6800x can read both fat32 and ntfs format while 4tc60al1x can only read fat32. Is it true? Is it really matter on how they can read from our thumbdrive? Asking this to their seller but they all blur 😂😂😂. Please help me sifus 🙏🙏🙏. Currently at myhome expo at mitec. Tomorrow last day 😥😥😥

Hi,
how good is 4TC60AL1X in term of motion? from Sharp website it does not say it has AquoMotion whereas 4TC60AH1X has 200Hz (native probably 50-100>).. and also 4TC60AH1X has direct lit compared to 4TC60AL1X edge lit This post has been edited by overfloe: Jul 4 2019, 10:34 AM |

I bought 4TC60AH1X over 4TC60AL1X.
Hmmm the panel is so thin, I doubt is Direct LED? Well beside Android, the connectivity also seem less alot. Dont have optical output. And only 2 HDMI. Well no complain for cheaper price lol. |

Colour is natural and not overly saturated. saw Harvey Norman 4tc70al1x going for a low gooding price. <5k So wanted to see forummers with AL1X to provide some input. The Sharp Android system for this model works wonderfully as I understand other models from Sony experiencing laggy as per the feedback from other users. Perhaps other sifus such as AVFAN can advise more as he own the LC6800 model which is almost similar to this. |

QUOTE(overfloe @ Jul 4 2019, 06:55 PM) Overall is good. The aquamotion is work, but I feel not as fluid like Sony's but let me have an AB test again. Color wise is good enough for the pricing I can say. But when I compare to my Dell's IGZO 4K, still a big gap yet haha. And have some backlight leakage when in totally dark room and dark scene. IMO for the pricing shld be behave same for all brand. Speaker wise ok moderate. Just dont have Optical Output which I forgotten to check this spec. However overall feel is good. Oh ya this model dont have Android, which the loading will be much faster then android ver. for the pros. I will get an Android Box instead. |

Any love for AH1X? Seems not popular here. It's a smart tv (not android) but paper spec says it has Direct Lit and AquaMotion 200Hz, which are not available in AL1X.

Hi all, would like to get some opinions from you guys on which one is a better deal:
1. Sharp 4TC50AL1X (RM2300 5 years warranty) 2. LG 49UM7290 (RM2000 2 years warranty) Sharp has Android TV, and LG has webOS with Magic Remote which is quite interesting, however for this price range, how does the Sharp stack up to the LG and when it comes to PQ? |

QUOTE(kirovX @ Aug 1 2019, 10:44 PM) Hi all, would like to get some opinions from you guys on which one is a better deal: for me, when it comes to PQ, the best way to decide is from your own eyes. go to the shop that hv demo and experience it yourself.1. Sharp 4TC50AL1X (RM2300 5 years warranty) 2. LG 49UM7290 (RM2000 2 years warranty) Sharp has Android TV, and LG has webOS with Magic Remote which is quite interesting, however for this price range, how does the Sharp stack up to the LG and when it comes to PQ? i hv 4TC50AL1X myself, but samsung NU7090 looks better from my own eyes. at the end, bought this model because its cheaper 2019 model, and with android., just rm1.8k with 2yrs warranty from jintexelectronic. its worth it. I couldn't smell any from my tv from the day I bought. Probably because my area is quite huge so the smells spread to other areas.
If the smell persist, perhaps you want to call the Sharp service centre and to seek for their opinions. |

If the smell persist, perhaps you want to call the Sharp service centre and to seek for their opinions. and today, sharp technician come and check, and guess what.? he said this smell is normal. he open the back of TV, doing inspection to the mainboard and he said all normal no defect. so cannot replace it. ...but, unfortunately during the time he open the tv, he accidentally knock my tv screen with his screwdriver. got dent on lower corner, like a tiny piece of glass already broken huhu...so he like "ok no choice we have to replace" ...phewwwwwww..... so lucky i bought sharp with warranty. he will get me a replacement this saturday, cannot replace immediately bcoz hv to do some paperwork . hi all,
Just realised that there is a dedicated thread for 4TC60AL1X. Ive been using this model for the past 6 months now. Below is my initial review which i posted on another sub thread . Hi All, Just got my 4TC60AL1X delivered yesterday. It is mentioned LED Backlight on the Box.. Not sure if its referring to Edge / Full On the manual, it says the manual is applicable for 4TC60AL1X & 4TC70AL1X Spec wise : Android os 8.0 LAN Port : 10/ 100 Mbps. WLAN : AC 5ghz I can use all applications and features which i was previously using on my Minix Android Box. - Astro on the go & Viu ( orientation app installed ) - Netflix HDR & Youtube HDR Preinstalled - Directv now, BBC I player, - Unifi TV, Hotstar App for indian TV shows - Sideload launcher and Orientation installed ( Thanks to this thread) - Able to connect my Tronsmart G02 gamepad via Bluetooth to play games. - Able to use Minix A3 Remote Air mouse and keyboard works fine. Few questions which i need help with : 1) I noticed the tv remote has a button power devices. Can i program it to control my sony soundbar ? If yes please guide. 2)What is the recommended output method to achieve best sound quality. Currently connected my thru optic cable from TV to Soundbar. Not using any other devices. At the moment i choose "Bitrate [SPDF]" as output.. there is also PCM and Dolby Digital in my tv Whereas my soundbar supports dolby true HD ====================================================================== Current build is : 12700. OTT1.80130.001 Here are feedbacks based on 6 months usage. Android OS 8.0 is super smooth and never had a app crash or reboot. Also i dont remember facing any lag. Here is what i have been using : Preinstalled : Netflix, KODI , Youtube Manually installed : Hotstar, Spotify, Direct TV Now, Voot , Aptoaide TV, YuppTV, Sony Crackle Apps that required Air Mouse ( Not Android TV App) BBC Iplayer , Astro On the GO, Unifi Play TV, Viu Chromecast function is working fine. I have my movies loaded on Network Storage. So Kodi will be streaming the movies thru my LAN. Connected via 5ghz WiFi, Router is placed on 1st floor room. Based on Speedtest, 125 Mbps speed. Never had any buffering for streaming activity. I have my Minix Air Mouse plugged in to the TV and using it for both keyboard and air mouse functionality. Tronsmart G02 Gamepad is linked via Bluetooth, can be used for games and also to navigate the menu. I have no regrets selling off my Minix u9h after purchasing this TV as I’m able to perform almost all activity which i can do on the android Box. The best part about the TV is we have dedicated Android TV app for streaming services. SO far i dont have any complains about this TV except the following issue with Remote Control. 1) Remote Control get unpaired automatically at some occasions, You just got to pair it back again. 2) Be Extra Care full when operating your Remote Control, as some joystick combination ( which I’m not certain about) will cause the tv to enter developer / Initialisation mode. Changing anything from here will be harmful as it affects the display quality.. I experienced the same and got my unit replaced by Sharp. It is not a malfunction, just like a combination keypress from our mobile phone to enter engineering mode. Just in case you entered this mode, do not make any changes . Just force power off your TV and on it again to avoid any changes to be done by pressing the keypad on remote control. |

perhaps a peek into next coming models...?
QUOTE Sharp has gone Android at IFA 2019 and added two affordable TV ranges which will feature the Google-based smart platform and all the on-demand video apps that any user could need. There are seven Android TVs altogether between the Sharp BL series and the Sharp BN series and the highlights for these 4K HDR TVs include having Google Assistant and Chromecast built in as well as Harman Kardon speaker systems. The major difference between the two ranges is that the later-arriving BN series will come with Dolby Vision HDR, alongside HLG and HDR10, and will be Dolby Atmos compatible too. https://www.whathifi.com/news/ifa-2019-shar...le-4k-tv-ranges |

QUOTE(ruzaini88 @ Sep 13 2019, 10:56 AM) compare side by side - bk1x, al1x, 6800x.https://my.sharp/compare/product a quick glance, i spot these differences for bk1x vs the older 2: .. android 9.0 vs android 8.0 .. 3 hdmi 2.0a vs 4 hdmi (2x2.0, 2x2.0a) .. BT 5.0 vs 4.0 .. HDR/HDR10/HLG vs "HDR" the only major difference to me is support for HLG. but since HLG is mainly for live broadcast streams like BBC/BBCiplayer, it may not be that useful locally. however, i would expect the "HDR10" performance is improved for contrast and color depth. one thing i am curious... HLG ext input will need hdmi 2.0b. since 3xhdmi are all 2.0a, it is unclear if it will support HLG files playback or reduce to HDR. that, will have to hear from a user. as usual, i expect the price for new model to be higher by rm300-500 than its 1 year old predecessor(s). BTW, i thought u already bought a new samsung... still shopping? |

just bought mine Sharp 60" 4TC60AL1x from lazada for RM2,550.74
(free sharp wireless keyboard and sharp air purifier) I used 40" SONY EX41 in the past so an upgrade from 40" to 60". Some quick comments: - TV remove is not user friendly compared to LG and Sony (personal opinion) - TV remote also not sensitive (not sure if it's fault unit) - can't install rss player - Quality looks good. |

Im in a dilemma choosing between these 3 model, Sharp 4TC60AL1X, Sony x750f or x800G. can anyone help me with the difference ? Im buying it for my dad actually, and the way he watch movies is by plugging in a usb with content downloaded from a PC. Therefore the more codec it support the better, and i have subscribe a netflix on his behalf. Btw, a good upscaling is a must too. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Sep 17 2019, 04:38 PM) what kind of files does he play? typical file size? does he care about audio... with home theater? The file downloaded range from 1gb to 2gb and he does not care about audio nor picture quality. the format he played such as rm, rmvb, mkv, mp4 etc ( basically does not care what he downloaded, if cannot play then convert the file). They have a mindset of JAPANESE brand is always superior over Korean Brand and im not going to go against them on this one.for USB playback, i don't know anything about the sony's... so, u need to ask the sony owners or try at the shop - about the native media player. check if it is user friendly enough, easy to navigate, change subtitles, rwd, fwd, etc. the native player in the sharp is not very good, pretty clumsy. but since it is ATV, one can easily install kodi app from playstore, use it for playback. with kodi, it becomes a lot easier and powerful. the sony's with ATV should also be able to do kodi but i do not know if there are any specific issues with it. before that he was using a sharp 10 years old 42 inch LCD model, i believe no matter what i get at this moment will have a huge improvement in Picture quality compared to the previous model. The reason i want an android tv is to make his life easier, thats why Kodi, Netflix and chromecast is a must. Btw, Kodi in android TV got any specific version (apk) or just straight away download from playstore ? |

They have a mindset of JAPANESE brand is always superior over Korean Brand and im not going to go against them on this one. everyone has his own preference according to his own experience, that's OK.before that he was using a sharp 10 years old 42 inch LCD model, i believe no matter what i get at this moment will have a huge improvement in Picture quality compared to the previous model. The reason i want an android tv is to make his life easier, thats why Kodi, Netflix and chromecast is a must. Btw, Kodi in android TV got any specific version (apk) or just straight away download from playstore ? i use sharp becos i find them affordable and long lasting. if the files are small, it should play easy. the only uncertainty is the subtitles, some may not play. see, TV makers make tv's for display... the usb player... most do not do as good a job as a standalone box player. AndroidTV (ATV) found in sharp and sony's - they all come with Netflix and Youtube. in playstore, u find Kodi, VLC, MX player apps; there are some other useful apps there; the rest u need to sideload the apks. apps from TV playstore, they auto update if there is new, no need to do anything. chromecast can be very useful, so, it's good to have it built in. |

Hey guys, does anyone know how to disable Bluetooth detection for Sharp Android TVs? Some neighbours keep on trying to pair with the TV and there's no way to disable it in the settings menu...

QUOTE(AVFAN @ May 21 2019, 06:27 PM) don't use the regular android version. Thanks AVFAN for the download link. Downloaded the app from MediaFire. Worked well on my TVBox (therefore the .apk is fine). use this androidtv version, somebody built it ready for use. http://www.mediafire.com/file/885170z6yvrs...TV_100.apk/file or u mean u cannot find the app? My friend bought the 4T-C60AL1X, and I tried to install on the TV. So I slot into the USB port, the TV prompted to go to Media (therefore the USB port is working). Got my 60” AL1X ytrdy. Everything is working good. Happy with it.
XiaoWeiZhiBo... a very nice apk for China live TV. Used it my white color Huawei STB previously. Running smooth with no problem. But too bad, could not run on the ATV. Others as mentioned by AVFAN all doing well. |

At a recent post-launch 4K Ultra Box press conference, Astro answered questions about the future of smart television applications on the market. According to Shahrul Imran Sultan who is the deputy president of Astro product engineering, Astro Go's application for several smart television models is currently under development. He added that after the app was launched, support for casting content from the Astro Go smartphone app to smart television would eventually be provided. This is a function that users have long been asking for since the Astro Go app was launched seven years ago, |

In case u dun know yet, there are 2 free video apps in tv playstore.
TUBI been there for some time. Now, PLEX too. Both work well, easy to use. But movies and shows are either old or C grade. Still, they are free... |

Hi guys,
A silly question here. I have placed my order for this 4TC60AL1X TV and need some clarification. Since this TV is a modern TV, I assumed it should be equipped with a new TV set with the DTTV label approved by SIRIM hence do I still need any decoder or aerial to get MYTV or rather the free Malaysian TV channel? Again, sorry for the silly question. Newbie here. Thanks. |

Just bought 4TC60AL1X 2 days ago after my Sharp 60" full HD give up on me after only 6 years usage. i bought for RM2700+ and I know i can found cheaper (RM2500+) online however hesitate if need to claim warranty, so just settled with physical shop.
Unfortunately the TV screen have a long and deep scratch upon unboxing, so the shop will exhange a new one for me this weekend while i watch this unit 1st. 2 days usage enough for me to post a review, here you go: 1. Why i choose this Sharp model? Because it is CHEAP!!! Yet the PQ is good enough and functionality is top notch. The colour is indeed wide gamut (123% as claimed), it display some colour shade that i never seen before on my calibrated 99% sRGB monitor. 2. 'Unknown' Japan panel type used, but i suspect is at least IPS or VA. From naked eye the contrast is very good and it proofed with my Xrite i1Display Pro, got 1800:1 contrast ratio, this is in VA panel territory already!! In contrast, my QHD 165Hz IPS panel worth 3k only able to get 1000:1 ratio. 3. As usual, the default picture setup is overemphasize on contrast, vivid colour and noise reduction. The out of box image is bluish (that's why you see a vivid colour and 'crystal clear' white), not sharp in 1080p video and contrast too high (black too black, lost the mid tone and shadow details). So at 1st i change the mode to 'standard', reduce the contrast to +28 (Now you can see the details in the highlight as the result of not clipped), colour to 0, sharpness to +2, active contrast to OFF, tint at middle. I also turn OFF the digital noise reduction, this has a big impact on the crisp and sharpness, it released all the details even when i just play Astro Full HD, i can clearly see the sharp tiny hair and face details of the human when the DNR is turn OFF, you don't really need that at all!! 4. The 4k upscaler is top notch, the image even look sharper compare with my previous dot to dot 1080 playback!! But some colour noise perceived in plain background if DNR turn OFF, don't get me wrong, the noise level is minimal and unnoticeable in 99% of time. 5. Like what i said in 3), the out of box image is bluish for wow crystal clear white, but luckily the white temp can be adjusted. I hook up the Xrite i1Display Pro can calibrate the white balance. The colour temp i set to LOW (lowest setting), but the white balance still tad blue at 7600k, my target is to adjusted to 6500k. So reduce the BLUE GAIN all the way down to -25 to achieve 6500k white balance. 6. SQ wise, as sucks as my previous Sharp TV, well you can't expect a good sound from a tiny, thin and down facing speaker right? I just listen the built-in speaker for 2 minutes (torture) before i figure out how to output and bypass the internal speaker. I hook up to my external amp and speaker by using the 3.5mm to RCA cable, settle. 7. Android 8 is handy, smoothness during scroll/navigate menu can't compare to galaxy S7 edge Android 8, haha, cannot expect too much i think. Haven't download any apps yet as the TV need to be changed again. But youtube playback is good enough. 8. Film mode - This is interpolation technology same as SVP manager in PC to increase the 25/30 fps movie to higher framerate real time (to panel max refresh rate, again unknown in this model as didn't mentioned), i'm surprise to get this feature as it didn't include in the specsheet. But please expect to get some picture artifacts in some circumstance, you can turn it OFF for highest PQ. 9. This is edge lit panel, some light bleed at the bottom in full black mode with dark room ambient, not a big deal as TV is far field viewing and unnoticeable most of the time. Screen brightness and colour uniformity is good, minimal clouding observed in full grey mode, again you won't notice unless your day to day activity is to display full grey on the TV!! Overall very happy with the purchase, CP ratio is high if not highest compare to Samsung and Sony based on PQ and feature aspect. I reserved for reliability/longevity considering my previous malfunctioned Sharp model just 6 years old with 'normal' viewing time per day. I reserved for reliability/longevity considering my previous malfunctioned Sharp model just 6 years old with 'normal' viewing time per day. it is not the best or greatest or most capable tv.... but it is true for its price, it is great value for general home use. like many things, u pay a lot more for some incremental improvement or special capability; question is if u will pay or not... some might, some will surely not. as for longevity, my own experience with several units of same brand says 6-7 years is about right; beyond that, it'll be a bonus. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jan 2 2020, 08:55 PM) nice... your detailed assessment will help others if they r considering. Yes, it depends on what you need.it is not the best or greatest or most capable tv.... but it is true for its price, it is great value for general home use. like many things, u pay a lot more for some incremental improvement or special capability; question is if u will pay or not... some might, some will surely not. as for longevity, my own experience with several units of same brand says 6-7 years is about right; beyond that, it'll be a bonus. For me, per day i spent 1.5 hours in front of TV, but 3 hours in front of my PC. Like i mentioned, my 27'' QHD IPS screen even more expensive then this 4k TV, and i add 1k+ for a colorimeter to calibrate. So whenever i need reference accurate colour, better PQ and enjoy 'me time', my PC setup is the only way I will go. TV, is for family time |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Jan 2 2020, 11:27 AM) Just bought 4TC60AL1X 2 days ago after my Sharp 60" full HD give up on me after only 6 years usage. i bought for RM2700+ and I know i can found cheaper (RM2500+) online however hesitate if need to claim warranty, so just settled with physical shop. Thanks for your review. Sony entry level 4k tv 2019 contrast is not even 1000:1Unfortunately the TV screen have a long and deep scratch upon unboxing, so the shop will exhange a new one for me this weekend while i watch this unit 1st. Overall very happy with the purchase, CP ratio is high if not highest compare to Samsung and Sony based on PQ and feature aspect. i am looking at 4TC60AL1X, cost around 2.9k with custom kodi in it. or i should just go for a cheaper normal tv and buy a tv box seperately? |

Hi, i interested in this AL1x model since sony 8000g 65inch is too thick for me, and only 4 star energy.
-For me i like this thin and 5 star am i correct.? -Hmm va panel means it is Japan sony panel? Or china made panel. -Does this model have good side view angle like ips? -Bytheway, new BK model already in market with price? -does this panel rgb or rgbw panel? Can't find detail. -cannot sure of its ram and storage size. -Wanna ask its hdr mean hdr10? -And does it build in a default file explorer for apk install? (Like sony got file- commmander) -Does its speaker ok compare other brand at similar price range. (No intended to use soundbar etc) -Does it come with motion function to view gaming/football, like sony etc. -its Bluetooth can use for hand phone/soundbar also? Hi, I have my RC paired with the TV, but doesn't seem to make any difference, I still have to point it at the IR sensor for it to work.
What is the point of pairing? AVFAN |

With BK1X in the market, perhaps an owner can start a new thread on this new model. QUOTE(phua1985 @ Jan 14 2020, 06:41 PM) HDR is a rather loose term... no precise definition as far as industry stds are concerned... everybody does their own thing and call it whatever they want.u should google n read to understand better. all i know from what i read and experience is: currently, HDR usually means HDR10. and there is HDR10+ (samsung std), HLG (broadcast std), Dolby vision (dolby std), HDR12(?).... they are all versions of "HDR". whether "it can play" depends on source, player, HDMI connections version, TV, AVR, etc.... one single bottleneck, it will not work. i do not know what u r trying to play.... bluray discs? bluray rips? online streams? play with tv usb port? play with some box or gaming console? if u r asking whether the TV can playback via the usb port HDR10bit videos, my answer is yes. if ur asking if the tv can support HDR10 videos from another capable player box, answer is yes. dolby vision and higher or proprietory format - no - u get black screen. I just found out in tv playstore, there is bbc player app.
If u r unifi ultimate user and yr old STB doesnt hv this bbc player, u can use it on the tv. Just install app, log in, auto unifi connection detect, no id or pw reqd. Reasonable vod stuff, hd. |

One comment about the built in google chromecast.
I'm not sure what's the differeces between dedicated and built in, i found the built in will stop/hang when playing prime video. I have another dedicated full HD chromecast working fine under same situation. Another one is video will hang if stream youtube 4K video, but the same video downloaded and play with MX player is fine. From the points above, i seriously think it is caused by processing power of the Mediatek chip This post has been edited by coolkwc: Jan 19 2020, 11:05 AM |

Is it true? try to check ur house km distance from the nearest tower, if 10km ++, can get a bigger indoor anttena (digital UHF) from online or shop, better than die trying using 3rd party tv app, if u mean for tv1/tv2/8tv etc android tv sure is better than smart tv. bcos smart tv is jz a older model with a closed linux system which only preinstall some build in app like youtube browser etc. with android tv, u can get some suitable tv version of apps eg kodi etc, http://www.dangbei.com/ http://www.shafa.com/market/ here is some china tv app if u can read Chinese, or watching chinese tv apps, but need to mention, but break/brick ur android tv with some unsuitable version of app. (i almost get stuck brick with a unsuitable version of sogou pinyin input last month in android tv box, for example). and for ur tonton app issue, i myself had being went to the shop try to compare smart tv apps/system, vs android system. there are majorly two active updated closed smart tv system in msia market, which is LG wedos and samsung TIZEN, these system is closed loop, and maintain by themselves, in collaboration with the eg tonton app, astro GO app, unifi hyyp tv app. so far as l know if not mistaken and up to dated, astro go and unifi hyyp seems drop support/no more in LG/samsung. correct if i wrong, and those 3rd party non-branding linux- smart tv, eg older model of sony/ sharp etc, for example, all has update to android tv system in newer model eg 2019,2018.. so for me, andirod sure is better wider flexibility compare smart closed system tv. unless u want LG or samsung TV for ur brand decision. A tonton app doesn't seem to be a cutoff point for ur choice. just go and get a UHF antenna for ur new MYTV compatible TV. |

For android tv there so much possibility, btw pls don't try to root or jail break your tv, you may mess up your tv. Just side load apk or install app from llay store is enough. I currently watch singpore tv and Malaysia tv without any antenna, just install the chinese app from the play store, you search in the playstore. If you want watch free movie can install terrarium tv, and some other chinese apk also good to use, but not sure you can read chinese or not. And have many ppl install the app myiptv4k (need subscription fee) also have tons of movies and live tv, included astro, history channel, discovery channel, and the malaysia and singpore tv, the subscription fee is cheap, much cheaper than netflix. |

QUOTE(coolkwc @ Feb 2 2020, 11:01 PM) Bullsh*t reason. Mi Box S with the same amount of RAM (& probably similar processor performance) is already on stable build of Android 9.Android 9 for Android TV platform is just incremental update from version 8.0. If your TV/box can run Android 8 just well, so will it on Android 9. It's the matter of how competent TV manufacturers are when it comes to providing updates. Stop giving false info if you're not sure about it. |

In my AL1X, The active contrast mess up the color so much. I have it turn OFF all the time. Try reduce the contrast as well. Contrast is very important, TV manufacturer tends to bump up the contrast to make colour look denser, vivid and high dynamic lighting but is not natural at all. You loss the mid tone (shadow) so black looks completely black without details, white clipping.furthermore, i tried screen mirroring using my asus laptop with windows 10, it disconnected after 20seconds. phone mirror is fine. any solution? Another way to calibrate the screen is to refer the screen that you like the most. if you think you are please with ur phone screen colour, try to mirror you phone to the TV and adjust the colour similar to ur phone. The good thing about Sharp TV is the broad adjustable parameters (six colour hue, tint, saturation, gain), but could be troublesome if you don't have reference to adjust. |

a few new things i noticed on tv playstore...
1. bbc player has been there for some weeks now... if u r unifi customer ultimate pack, just install, log in, it auto detects, u r good to go. 2. playtv@unifi - there are 2 apps there in playstore; depending on which box u hv and if u hv been migrated, i think the tv can now play the app(s). i cannot confirm becos i am still using old silver box, not migrated yet - can install but can't play. probably much is still work-in-progress, migration in stages. 3. search for "kite tv"... 风筝TV... while much is locked, u can find some decent live tv channels. as this one is not legit, i dun think it will stay in playstore long... enjoy for now! |

Do you mind sharing where you found this info? |

QUOTE(Galaxy_Nexus @ Apr 30 2020, 10:57 AM) will you feel delay when mouse scrolling on al1x/ah1x screen when connecting your laptop through hdmi? mine will feel significant delay if compare to my dell monitor. not smooth like connecting to monitor you only can get 30Hz max in 4K mode, of course is lag and not smooth. |

Hi guys, I'd like to get some opinions on Sharp 4TC70AL1X. (I didn't want to create a new thread since this one is already discussing on the AL1X model.
I am basically attracted to its 70inch screen and it being an Android TV. Price is not too high for me too. but at the same time, I also heard Sharp TVs are now actually rebadged Hisense TVs. is this true also for this model? I read Sharp TVs are reliable but if it's true it's Hisense underneath, I am not so sure. The other brand and model I am comparing this to is the slightly cheaper and smaller 65 inch Panasonic GX740 smart tv. The specs seems bit better than the sharp one above (except for not being 70inch and running on Android). i'm currently using a Panasonic 50inch smart TV too for >6 years now. Thinking of making a change and going for a larger android TV like this Sharp 4TC70AL1X. Would it be a wiser choice over the GX740, with respect to reliability and performance.. thanks in advance for the advice!!! This post has been edited by ryper80: May 9 2020, 04:29 PM |

Dear Owners of 4TC60AL1X, can you help confirm or check the wired ethernet connection whether it is Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) or Gigabit Ethernet (1Gbps)?.. if you are using wired internet connection and your internet subscription (unifi, Maxis or Time) is more than 100 Mbps, then you can run Speedtest on your TV (you can either download speedtest from google play or run from web). If it's doesn't reach 100Mbps then it's FastE, if it goes beyond !00Mbps then most likely GigaE. I asked two different Lazada sellers, one says FastE, the other says GigaE... hmmm. Thanks for your help.

Need your confirmation.
Sharp UE630x power cord is on the left. How about AL1X and what is the cable length? I want to conceal the cable in the concrete wall. Afraid if wrong 'tebuk' the hole, the cable cannot reach the plug point. Thanks. This post has been edited by xphr3ak: Jun 4 2020, 05:04 PM |

Hi,
Can anybody confirm that this tv (4tc60al1x) support the Sonos Playbar requirement for the Dolby Digital 5.1 passthrough to Sonos over optical? https://en.community.sonos.com/home-theater...athread-6735001 I am upgrading from Sharp LC-40LE830M, which did not have this pass through option, therefore I want to make sure I am not making a mistake. I also don't want to be upgrade my sonos playbar to the latest (ARC) one. way too expensive imo. Thanks! |

To be sure 4TC60CK1X can play HDR in YouTube, go to shop and check.
Sharp UA6800X can't, even in spec say YES. For AL1X and BL1X series, I asked, but nobody answer back. So, better check first. The rest is ok,good TV. This post has been edited by stasio: Dec 6 2020, 12:11 PM |

seems like there's a new 65" for ck1x and it comes with Deep Chroma Display, similar to Panasonic's Hexa Chroma Drive?
The Deep Chroma Display technology adopts a “six axis colour management” which incorporates the complementary colours of magenta, yellow and cyan in addition to the three primary colours of red, green, and blue. As a result, subtle tones are depicted distinctly with colour balance kept intact to bring colour closer to that of nature. On top of this, the TV can demonstrate real colours through the 123% wider colour gamut, offering a larger palette of colours for viewers to enjoy. |

Yup,
your model at least do what is in specification. Sharp should add notification on screen, but I beleive this is also big step for them. This post has been edited by stasio: Dec 23 2020, 11:48 AM |

QUOTE(teNtiOn @ Dec 8 2020, 11:32 AM) seems like there's a new 65" for ck1x and it comes with Deep Chroma Display, similar to Panasonic's Hexa Chroma Drive? words from TV info is meaning less with out tech spec figures . right ?The Deep Chroma Display technology adopts a “six axis colour management” which incorporates the complementary colours of magenta, yellow and cyan in addition to the three primary colours of red, green, and blue. As a result, subtle tones are depicted distinctly with colour balance kept intact to bring colour closer to that of nature. On top of this, the TV can demonstrate real colours through the 123% wider colour gamut, offering a larger palette of colours for viewers to enjoy. what is the tech specs for color gamut color volume brightness . this will tell you more and all you need to know |

QUOTE(alvinfks78 @ Dec 8 2020, 12:20 PM) Very difficult to find review of malaysia modal TVs to find out the number of nits. yes... i would say if the TV has less that 500 nits brightness , you will just see poor details in the dark areas. mostly Review on net is in US/ UK, we don't have those modals here in Msia. 300-350 quite low to perform well for HDR........ which means HDR performance is poor . cos they use cheaper LED display . in short whether Dolby vision or HDR10 you dont get the full benefits . in short you need to pay more for a better TV with above average brightness. from Google 700 nits . for optimum HDR In our experience, HDR works best with TVs that have at least 700 nits of peak brightness. You'll get some of the HDR effect (vivid laser shots, more detail in dark areas) with TVs generating less than that, but the overall palette can be quite dark This post has been edited by Momo33: Dec 23 2020, 04:41 PM |

Need help.
I have one TV box for months. It's screen color in normal mode when am using it with my previous 835 TV. After changing to CK1X, it's screen color become very dark. I try to adjust from TV unset user mode, like changing the brightness. There is one screen resolution setting in the TV box, deep color mode, but that's off. I noticed my TV box display color is in white when TV just started. After a few seconds it refresh and then screen become yellowish. Anyone know what's the culprit? My TV box support 4k-60hz display, do you think is the cable quality issue? I did tried 720p, still same color. This post has been edited by pvateme: Dec 29 2020, 04:22 PM |

TV auto detects if input is 4k or 1080p 720p.. u can check the MODE - std or movie or HDR or...? set tostd or movie and see. box, u should set to 1080p 50hz or 60hz for normal use, set to 4k, 24hz, or whatever when u should, according to the source. |

Yes try other box, other apps, diff playback files. If yr box works ok on 1 tv but not the other wih box settings unchaged, something is very odd. That is also strange if both tvs are set to similar mode and picture settings. For CS to come check, u must have good reason. If tv apps work ok, they will not bother with outcome from boxes. |

This is super cool, measuring contrast ratio from tools such as Xrite i1Display Pro is exactly what we need.Unfortunately the TV screen have a long and deep scratch upon unboxing, so the shop will exhange a new one for me this weekend while i watch this unit 1st. Btw, how did you measure the contrast ratio, on some checkboard pattern? Did you turn off the room lights? If you start a review channel or website, for sure you can become the Vincent Teoh of Malaysia. As you know all these TV marketing just but buzzwords which have no meaning, and artificially boost their contrat ratio measurements by using non-standard ways of measuring or measuring dynamic contrast ratio. And all these youtube channels only review US models. Brands they keep hyping suhc as TCL and Vizio dont have the same models here. We need Malaysian TV reviews. |

Hi all,
My sharp 4TC50AL1X is occasionally restart by itself since 2 days ago… anyone has any clue on that? It is as frequent as 30 mins restart once. I check the firmware it is latest. How many years warranty it has? 1 or 2 years? I just bought it on May 2019, less than 2 yrs. This post has been edited by alesi616: Feb 22 2021, 08:00 PM |

Hi guys,
Can the existing owners of this TV provide some feedback on their experience after a couple of years on? I am planning on getting one (was quoted RM 2.5K by a local shop) for my condo in KL where I am spending a bit more time now due to work. I have a proper HT set up back in JB but the one in the condo will be just for Astro, Netflix, Youtube and movies from my HDD. Cheers, V. |

QUOTE(pvateme @ Jan 5 2024, 02:33 PM) It's most likely because of the "mother glass"https://global.samsungdisplay.com/28976/ Basically, your TV panels are manufactured as one giant panel, then they cut it up to create multiple big panels and a few small panels They would choose the most efficient way of cutting up the glass to different sizes to reduce the wastage In the linked Samsung example above, they slice one big piece into 3 65inch panels and 6 32inch panels I would guess that 60inch isn't an optimal size to cut into and the other sizes are better for efficiency and result in less wasted glass for them, so they just go with 55 or 65 This post has been edited by PRSXFENG: Jan 5 2024, 06:30 PM pvateme liked this post
