Consider business grade laptops

Thinkpad: T490 400 nits, *X390 300 nits, L390 Yoga, *X390 Yoga
Not sure about battery life - good according to users: T495 400 nits, *X395 300 nits

Latitude: 7390, 7490
If can find: 5300, 7300, 7400, 5300 2 in 1

*non-upgradeable RAM

Acer Swift 3 SF314-41 not support 16 GB RAM module, it only support 12GB RAM (4GB Onboard + 8GB). I email Acer for the confirmation, and they confirm it only 12GB.

Should I try to install 16GB RAM module or it will not work since the manufacturer has limited it?

Besides that what do you think about Acer Aspire 5 A514-52G since it not on the list? It is ok or not?

Hi I'm looking for a laptop recommendation. I already have a gaming laptop at home which is my main workhorse. But I have been finding that the battery life is too poor. I'm looking for one that has better mobility and battery life. I use it mainly for web browsing, movie, and software development.

Preferably, 13" or 14".

In terms of feature priority, 1. Battery life(>7 hours on moderate use) 2. Performance 3. Weight(not really particular)

Currently eyeing T495, or Huawei Matebook 13. Was eyeing X395 too, but I found that I didnt like 13" in 16:9 ratio. A little too small to my taste. But 14" in 16:9 is fine. Performance-wise, doesnt have to be too high, as I still have my main laptop. Just that looking for something that it is easier to bring along as I attend seminars, workshops, or travelling. Thanks for any recommendations.

Hi, any other recommendation? Seems like the deals for lenovo T495 has ended. Quite expensive now.

Hi, I also dont really understand the difference between Huawei matebook 13 and matebook D. The specs seem similar, with matebook D having a longer battery life and bigger screen. But it seems to be selling cheaper at RM2999. Also, the matebook D wasn't listed in the recommendations here. Could somebody explain why?

Max is either 12GB or 20GB (4+16), would suggest 4+4 (total 8GB) for dual channel though

Preferably below 3.5k. so the only advantage the matebook 13 has over the matebook D is the display and weight? Matebook D is 2018 model?

Yes
Both are 2018 models I think, Matebook D is slightly older

You can still get business grade like L490 if you don't mind low sRGB display

Actually for me the most important right now is that the battery life is good and get me through more or less a day of use.

I was reading reviews about a 2019 matebook 13. That is different from the matebook that we have in Malaysia?

L490 will do then, business grade > consumer grade

What do you mean by different?

More on video editing (4k) + office tasks....

Lightest is the best for travelling

Hi ZM Fong, can you recommend me this?

Weight = lightest
RAM= upgrabable or non upgrabable (doesn't matter)
sRGB.
Battery life= doesn't matter (the longest the matter)

Priority: able to handle 4K video editing + lightest.
