It cost more than an arm and an leg. It’s a highly premium stuff, about Apple MacBook level of premium.

Warranty too short, SSD and RAM too small for a device you’re paying almost 5 grands for.

Also, the 10th gen in this model is actually not much different from 8th gen. These are just overclocked and rebranded 8th gen.

True 10th gen is still too low yield, that’s why it’s only inside few ultra premium devices for the time being z

Why not? You certainly won’t like to utilise your memory >90% when you’re working around with your PC. 8GB is nothing after few programs running in the back or few pages of webs on browser.

Even smartphones are hitting over 10GB RAM in 2019, the requirements will only grow upwards, not stagnant.

Actually they have the same performance (if power limits are the same)

Hi. Need help with recommendation please. Something light (<1.5kg) with good build quality. 8gb ram, at least 256 ssd. I don’t mind low sRGB but I need matte display. If only yoga s730 has matte display. Budget <3500 but can stretch a little bit if the option is good enough.

Well I'm looking at my budget around RM3k so this Thinkbook is really appealing cause of the price point.

Beggars cant be choosers.

Eventhough for the moment Thinkpad isn’t under Citibank CCS 45% offer, I will say no harm waiting for few more days and see if they decide to include them later on. The sales should last till 6th October, don’t need to be too rush, especially on Thinkbook (except may be you interested and value the 10,000 AirAsia big points, then Thinkbook got the edge). The price of Thinkbook had been like that since months ago.

P/S: Thinkbook don’t support USB-C PD charging, which I consider quite a dealbreaker especially for thin ultrabooks.

Nope I'm not rushing.

Any laptop you suggest fits my budget other than this?

Any thoughts on Yoga 730?

At the moment no thinkpads on sale.

For other brands, may be dell vostro you can get it for cheap and have an overall complete package, namely upgradable RAM and USB PD support. Price can range as low as 2.6k something to 3k++

actually, if if you dont insist on 14inches, you should go for thinkbook 13s, the cheapest model rm25xx, because
if 8gb and 256gb is not enough, you can always upgrade it to 16gb in future.

the 13s is better than 14s because 13s is using a better quality screen.

and frankly, the ability to upgrade to 16gb is more than enough, i dont think anyone need 2 ram slot for this think book.

the rm25xx model for 13s is good because it is using UD620, without GPU so the battery life would be better.

13.3” FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS antiglare with Dolby Vision™ HDR (300 nits, 72% CG)

Need to take out 8GB and put in 16GB

Thanks for mentioning that 14s uses low sRGB display, I somehow messed up the info. Thought they both have high sRGB

What 2 RAM slots (or 1 soldered 1 slot) matters is dual channel. I found out that my laptop not only can achieve higher FPS in games, but also has slightly better system smoothness

thinkbook targeting different people la laugh.gif i appreciate them for including a ram slot instead of soldered, given that many ultrabook only come with soldered 8gb . like x390 etc.

the lowest price for this TB 13s can go around rm21xx with all the shopback and voucher, that is a very solid price and throw in rm200, to change the ram to 16gb, that is really a steal.

Only know iGPU model is good. 540X might be too hot and reduce battery life
