Hi I'm looking for a laptop recommendation. I already have a gaming laptop at home which is my main workhorse. But I have been finding that the battery life is too poor. I'm looking for one that has better mobility and battery life. I use it mainly for web browsing, movie, and software development.
Preferably, 13" or 14".
In terms of feature priority, 1. Battery life(>7 hours on moderate use) 2. Performance 3. Weight(not really particular)
Currently eyeing T495, or Huawei Matebook 13. Was eyeing X395 too, but I found that I didnt like 13" in 16:9 ratio. A little too small to my taste. But 14" in 16:9 is fine. Performance-wise, doesnt have to be too high, as I still have my main laptop. Just that looking for something that it is easier to bring along as I attend seminars, workshops, or travelling. Thanks for any recommendations.

QUOTE(msacras @ Sep 3 2019, 12:11 AM) Get a laptop that support USB PD (type C charging) and buy a powerful laptop powerbank like AUKEY or Xiaomi. Yeah, that's what I had in mind too. That's why I was eyeing the Lenovo t495 and matebook 13.

Hi, I also dont really understand the difference between Huawei matebook 13 and matebook D. The specs seem similar, with matebook D having a longer battery life and bigger screen. But it seems to be selling cheaper at RM2999. Also, the matebook D wasn't listed in the recommendations here. Could somebody explain why?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 3 2019, 11:30 PM) Max is either 12GB or 20GB (4+16), would suggest 4+4 (total 8GB) for dual channel though Budget? Matebook 13 has better display and lighter Though Huawei QC isn't that good from what I heard Preferably below 3.5k. so the only advantage the matebook 13 has over the matebook D is the display and weight? Matebook D is 2018 model?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 3 2019, 11:50 PM) Yes Both are 2018 models I think, Matebook D is slightly older You can still get business grade like L490 if you don't mind low sRGB display Actually for me the most important right now is that the battery life is good and get me through more or less a day of use. I was reading reviews about a 2019 matebook 13. That is different from the matebook that we have in Malaysia?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 4 2019, 11:16 AM) L490 will do then, business grade > consumer grade What do you mean by different? I mean like, the matebook sold in Malaysia is it the latest generation? Haha

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 4 2019, 07:36 PM) There's only 1 generation, only specs/configs slightly different Is there any other notebook type laptop with good battery life that comes with usb C charging? Probably looking about 3.5k price range, similar to Matebook 13-ish price.
