What do you think about new Acer Swift 3 SF314-41, comes with AMD ryzen 5 3500u, 4GB RAM and 256GB NVMe ssd? It is good enough compare to intel version?

Btw how to check maximum RAM I can upgrade for any Acer laptop, not found on their website.

It's in the list. Not much info yet but should be decent based on other 3500u laptops

Should be the same chassis with SF314-54 so there's a RAM slot (4GB is soldered), max is 20GB I think

Do you have any experience dealing with acer after service? It is good enough?

I plan to buy this laptop on lazada and after that I assume I need contact acer directly if want claim warranty kan.

About the Ram, does upgrading Ram will void warranty.? Nowadays 4GB not enough lah. Manufacturer should start offer 8GB for RM2K laptop.

no, but my friend dealt with Highpoint before, not bad

there will be a sticker (probably, common in Acer laptops), just tear it down carefully and tape back after upgrading

unfortunately this is Malaysia where 4GB RAM out of the box is still a thing

can you recommend me a high sRGB display gaming laptop ranging 4000 to 4500? i need a good display for dicom interpretation, thus good colour accuracy is important but i wish to play some games too. The standard acceptable display would be macbook retina display grade but i don't like mac os. Is there any gaming laptop in that range that has display as good as macbook? or almost as good as.

No preference on weight and battery life?

For your budget expect >90% sRGB

lighter and longer battery life of course is preferable but then for me, maybe less than 3kg? more than 3-4hrs battery is enough for me as long as it doesnt compromise the gaming performance.. i m actually looking at gaming laptop more rather than an ultrabook.

Hi I'm looking for a laptop recommendation. I already have a gaming laptop at home which is my main workhorse. But I have been finding that the battery life is too poor. I'm looking for one that has better mobility and battery life. I use it mainly for web browsing, movie, and software development.

Preferably, 13" or 14".

In terms of feature priority, 1. Battery life(>7 hours on moderate use) 2. Performance 3. Weight(not really particular)

Currently eyeing T495, or Huawei Matebook 13. Was eyeing X395 too, but I found that I didnt like 13" in 16:9 ratio. A little too small to my taste. But 14" in 16:9 is fine. Performance-wise, doesnt have to be too high, as I still have my main laptop. Just that looking for something that it is easier to bring along as I attend seminars, workshops, or travelling. Thanks for any recommendations.

Get a laptop that support USB PD (type C charging) and buy a powerful laptop powerbank like AUKEY or Xiaomi.

My Vostro 5471 when it’s new, a 26800mah powerbank can power (charging) it for 8 hours straight.
