Yes, but doesn't matter, still works. A lot of people scared about firmware upgrade lock, but firmware upgrade can disable in settings.Huawei B618 Router V2, We are back!

What is your opinion about the modem?I don’t know why but I feel that the WiFi sucks. My old Asus N66U connect to B818 router seems better in terms of speed stability and signal. |

QUOTE(khainiz94 @ Jun 27 2020, 06:34 PM) What is your opinion about the modem? Yes, the 5GHz wifi is very weak or maybe my walls are thick. Anyway I don't have B618 or other equivalent stronger WiFi AP to compare.I don’t know why but I feel that the WiFi sucks. My old Asus N66U connect to B818 router seems better in terms of speed stability and signal. The 2.4GHz also weaker compared to my older AP Too bad currently my area is congested, so far cannot get >80Mbps d/l even at non-peak hour, but I have not tried 2am-7am. Also a lot of interference due to urban area, SINR always between -1 and 2 only. RSRP, RSRQ and RSSI those are green. I wonder how some people can get SINR >10 I'm only about 300-400m direct distance from two towers that I regularly able to connect. I've been spending some time using CellMapper to map my area. Lock B3+B7 Maxis Stability and strength wise, definitely better than my previous lower grade modems. |

A bit worse than my old Asus RT-N66U. Luckily I got that router to expand my coverage. But overall I am satisfied with my B818 with the 4G signal stability and speed. Constant 50 Mbps and above always. |

Yes, B818 definitely can "tarik" signal compared to my cheap modem by 2x-4x especially with 4G+ 2CA |

Unless it's for your own indoor coverage e.g better wifi strength. No improvement for source DL/UL. Outdoor antenna Log type, I tested probably work best performance wise best DL/UL out of any other outdoor antenna. Second would be the polarization Parabolic Grid Gain Outdoor Antenna that everyone was talking about I got mine from taobao and it perfect for rural place. If you are looking for outdoor antenna. B618 isn't good because the internal antenna is wasted. Get a compatible for 4G+ and support a lot of bands frequency router gateway. That is what I found work your RM as the performance probably top of the roof for what a user can improve on |

NOT SURE it's just my opinion common sense? Proof me wrong if you think it's not. polarization Parabolic Grid seem to be durable for such hot weather and in reality if you are in the city and have 2-3 towers to choose from GRID will have better coverage for receiving larger direction like west + north towers in reality you want 4G+ 2 bands to get TOP SPEED. This will be way better than the overprice B618 and B818 if you spent your money on outdoor antenna I bought from taobao or alibaba they are cheaper than shopee even after shipping fees. Shopee sellers stock bought from china too exactly the same thing then resell it to you with RM100+- markup for sure wanna earn. |

The seller said yes
It comes with firmware v81. Read some discussions here regarding that firmware. Is there any concern with that particular version? Also why some units are under 1 year Huawei Warranty -- some seems to covered by the seller only? (imported unit?) Thanks. |

Hi guys
Anybody has experience connecting a fax machine to the Huawei B618-65d (with Digi 150 Infinite)?? I have connected the phone to the router and having no problem using the phone....but unable to send or receive fax when I connected the fax machine to the router. Is there any telephone adaptor that I have to use to convert the digital signal to the analog fax machine?? Thanks for any advice... |
