Hello guys, been doing some reading and would like your suggestions.
My criteria:
1. front and rear cams
2. budget rm600 plus minus (may increase if its worth it)
3. parking mode
4. preferably with screen
Ive narrowed down to these but pls share your experience
1. mini 0906
- but its an old model 2017, any new updates coming out?
- is the parking mode stable and doesnt drain my battery?
- still no authorized distributor in msia?
2. viofo a129 duo
- heard the parking mode is unstable, cases of car owners complaining that car battery drained
3. thinkware f200
- read that video quality is not as good as cheaper china dashcams
4. 70mai pro (front) and 70mai 1s (rear)
- heard u need 2 different mobile phones for 2 different cams on a car?
5. thinkware x700
*** last option, hopefully dont have to use this
- again, video quality could be better?
my questions:
- how much does it cost to install and hardwire dashcams?
- is it worth paying extra for korean brands with worse video quality but better stability?
- generally, what is the lifespan of these dashcams?
- any common issues from the dashcams ive listed above?
appreaciate your input!
thanksss
If parking mode is an important factor to you, best to consider Thinkware straight as they are known for having the best true parking mode. F200 rear cam is 720p only and need to buy the optional GPS module. X700 is same specs as F770 but have to get the optional GPS module if want to use ADAS and smart camera alert.
If budget is more of your concern then straight go with the A129 Duo. The parking mode is only activated when there is no motion detected after a certain time after you off the engine. You can set higher voltage cutoff on the HK3 hardwire kit.
Mini0906 was considered to be the best budget dual dashcam last time. But no newer model has been out since. The parking mode is timelapse only. Not buffered parking mode. You can get from online sellers. Last time, mini dashcam has a reputation of failing often but now not sure as they have sold the mini0907 mold to other manufacturers to make their own versions of mini0907. Same like the famed G1W series & A118C.
70mai dashcams are good but the battery inside is the cons of the dashcam. And yes you can't connect to 2 of them using 1 phone at the same time.
- how much does it cost to install and hardwire dashcams?
RM100-300 depending on the installer's workmanship and your car model/type.- is it worth paying extra for korean brands with worse video quality but better stability?
To me yes as I get Korean for the overall package for true parking mode, ADAS, smart camera alerts, etc. Not just for image quality.- generally, what is the lifespan of these dashcams?
Capacitor dashcam 2-5 years. Lithium battery dashcam 1-3 years. All depends on your luck.- any common issues from the dashcams ive listed above?
