no dashcam is able to perform such in night condition, in fact anything outside the ideal viewing angle of the lens may be blurry, and add motion & reflection to it...become even more undistinguishable.

"full HD" would mean 1980x1080 resolution even though higher resolutions exist today, the term isnt updated, instead 4K 8K is being used in same fashion. But moving pictures (aka: video) does not rely on resolution alone, quality of the sensor also plays a role.

Thus never assume just because something is in the field of view of the camera, the clarity is the same as if its in the middle of the frame.

so by process of elimination, its the device that is used to playback the video, aka your phone. Or some setting associated with it on your device. Try check track number, if using wireless speaker/headset, turn that off. Reduce as much variables as possible. Try using wired earphones.

Else, google your device & the issue, perhaps its an edge case.

well yea, anywhere (within reason) that can supply 12v to the dashcam will suffice. I usually tap same wires to the cig port.

If it is from reputable brand, and used in reasonable condition.. should last many many many years. Ofcourse where could always be duds, but reputable should have good QC.

"better" is subjective, personally I will never pay someone else to do something I can easily perform. It just depends if one wishes to invest in time/effort to perform it.

Depends if the device has a low voltage cutoff. Else it would just continue draw till it affects the battery lifespan, it is similar to any accessory which draws from battery alone (eg car lights left on, etc).

Diff cam also has diff parking mode operation with different current draw, how often its in parking mode, if daily drive everyday start then less & vice versa. Remember, you alarm system also draws during a engine-off condition.

resolution is not everything, the sensor also plays a role.

analogy: a camcorder recorded movie from a cinema burn on blueray disc will still be only as good as the source, camcorder.

whereas a 4k video will look better downscaled to other resolution than if it is recorded natively at the lower resolution.

No, you can sync the time from phone via app.

As I've stated in me previous post, no it does not require the GPS module for date/time. It sync with the app.

I have the non GPS version.

For problematic products, just contact reseller/seller/manufacturer and attempt an RMA.

Its installed in wrong orientation.

I do not recall app having any feature to change orientation for rear cam.

Just remove it & reinstall. To soften the tape, heat up or park under sun easier to remove. For replacement tape, can get "outdoor" double sided tape, mrDIY carries it.

Try same with another phone, see if its repeatable.

Phone is variable, and if same symptoms then the constant is the dashcam itself. So you can proceed from there (RMA).

For non events, it will override the oldest file.

In the event of an impact, it would automatically save that portion of the video. As it is possible the occupants/driver is not convenient to perform the manual save and/or when the cam loses power due to the significant event.

Vibrations transfer to the windscreen, thus triggering the event save. I set all my cam to lowest sensitivity but it still occurs thanks to our wonderfully smooth road.

Possible from those "false positive" like rumble strips, potholes, etc. Even passenger door closing could trigger it, depending on how aggressive your occupants close/slam the door (ask me how I know )

haha, it occurred often with my prev car, 2001 Altis..wife & kids think its a bank vault door or what always slam the door (or maybe cuz they used to the car before that E36 with super heavy door).

But now in MPV, no such occurrence due to the double door seal.

Can tear the tape so it wont pull/damage your tint...BUT the problem is removing the leftover gunk on tint COULD easily cause damage to the tint. Ask me how I know, but its so tiny, less than 0.20 size, i just ignore & the cam is mounted there anyway. No need so anal about it.

But dont think the failure point is just the method it is powered, other components can also fail prematurely or by manufacturing defects.
