Hi guys, please advise which dashcam to purchase? Budget 350
Viofo a119 v2 YI Nightscape Dash Camera ddpai mini 3 pro Other better option?
Viofo a119 v2 - Best budget now. New V3 is great but less than rm500. YI Nightscape Dash Camera - not sure yet but heard was a remake of the failed older Yi Nightscape that was using battery ddpai mini 3 pro - Mini3 was great. New Mini3 Pro not sure.
mean can last how many hours? still cannot long hrs eg 8-12+ hrs like thinkware?
Duration of the true parking mode will depend on what you set for the cutoff voltage on the dashcam and depends on the car battery condition. And other factors.
But if it will work like Thinkware's true parking mode, I can say that it is about 90%+...
what about Viofo A129 durability ok? because most of time i park under sun just worry abit on this
Viofo dashcams is the most recommended dashcam here
All using capacitors inside... So no need to worry about parking every day in the sun... Just remember to off the A129's wifi when using with parking mode as heard will overheat easily...
just come across a new function on some power cables. 360degree radar detection. Instead of detecting motion in front of dashcam, the radar senses any movement in 5 meter radius. Seems like it can help to do some 'buffered' recordings.
It does exist, its not a function inbuilt in the dashcam. Its the small radar box in the power cable that does the work whether to provide power or cut the power. Not sure about Korea, but this tech already exists in China (for at least 2 years), but not sure why its not widely used yet. Based on the description, its straightaway they did not mess up the conventional motion detect and radar detect.
Sorry, haven't bumped into this. Not much info on how it works also. Looks more like a gimmick.
Maybe you buy and try it out and let us know?

Need to calibrate the actual voltage between vehicle battery & hardwire/camera. Wire resistance, voltage drop and component tolerance is the factor.
How to calibrate the actual voltage between the car battery and hardwire/camera? I only can see settings on the hardwire/camera for voltage cut off for the parking mode settings. How to calibrate the car battery voltage if it is the car battery?

Just want to ask, if hardwire dashcam into the car electrical panel, will it void warranty?
Hardwire to the car fuse box. All car manufacturer will say void warranty if anything it is not factory installed.
Measure car battery then measure input voltage into hardwire kit. See what is the difference? 1st try fiddle the cutoff setting based on measured input voltage of hardwire kit. If its at 12.35v then select 12.2v as cutoff and see how long the parking mode duration. If not long enough, set 12.0v
If the input voltage not stable, extra capacitor to stable the input voltage of the hardwire kit.
If input voltage measured is higher than car battery, add resistor to bring down the voltage close to measured car battery voltage.
Sounds complicated. What if later the voltage is different? Then need to add/remove the capacitor/resistor?
Do you install like that for all your Viofo A129 Duo/IR and A119V3?
