Guys, I found a deal in lazada and wanna share with you all.
A129 Duo plus hard wire kit around RM400 after 30% shopwide voucher. But not sure genuine anot. I bought one anyway.
https://s.lazada.com.my/s.ZcDWa
*
Should be real as there are no fake Viofo yet. But do take note on the no warranty. This is a good deal though.

There was an A129 Duo user in here whose rear cam got faulty and lucky he got a warranty with local distributor

QUOTE(kskoay @ Jul 12 2019, 02:31 PM)
this is very good price! still struggle want to go for this or not....but i need to get accessory shop to install...wonder how much will they charge for this...(front and rear + connect to fuse box, for SUV)....
*
Sedans is easy to DIY install. I learn from Youtube only. Get a fuse tester from Mr. DIY and test at the in the cabin fuse box. Already got fuse taps with the pack to crimp with the HK3 hardwire kit. Have to buy a good micro SD card 64GB or 128GB. I saw on sales in Lazada for Samsung Evo Plus.

Outside installation can cost you rm100-300 depending on the installer and whether proper install or not. Make sure don't cut or tap wires can d.

I suspect the shop forgotten to put a limitation cap on the discount haha
I have four Viofo and so far they are working great after few years. Just hope it will be the same this time. Pray pray
Do you mind to share the link for the YouTube video? I was planning to send to car accessories shop to install, but if it's easy to DIY then I can save some money.
Is 32gb not enough? I bought one from lazada and need to cancel it if its not enough.
*
In the 1st post got the Youtube video on how to install hardwire kit.

Dual channel will require bigger micro SD. Also 64GB and 128GB Samsung Evo Plus have faster write speed than 32GB. 32GB can store about 3 hours of video. For dual is divided by 2 since got 2 cameras. 64GB is about 6 hours and 128GB about 12 hours.

hi bro, any video in youtube you can share about the fuse box connection? by the way, how is the fuse tester look like? how to crimp the hardwire kit to fuse taps? (fuse tap came together with the package). sorry for all the stupid questions  doh.gif

I bought something like this from Mr DIY

For SUV, last time for my CX-5 accessory shopss quoted me RM200 for front and rear dashcam with tap to fusebox.
They said if sedan car will be cheaper by Rm50 or so
*
SUV/MPV I don't dare install as a need to remove panels and go thru the trunk door to install... Sedans are easier...

@blurjoey

I went to install the latest thinkware today but was told there is noise on the recorded video is very obvious and they acknowledge there is a problem with this.

They are waiting for a the software to fix this but don't know when.

Did you encounter these problems on the new Q800pro ?
*
Yes. My Q800 Pro is the same. Waiting for the new firmware to fix it.

QUOTE(LemonKnight @ Jul 13 2019, 01:52 PM)
Can I open the mp4 files on my computer? Or is it exclusively open on the app only?

I tried to download a short trip video on my app, I think I might have not let it completely download to my phone. I think I turned off my car too soon.

When i tried to open the app again, i noticed the file was gone. I can find files an hour afterwards but not that time. Is it possible to recover it?

Edit: I posted this again on the xiaoyi thread. I mistaken this thread as the xiaoyi by accident. Sorry.
*
PC is the best as you need to install the codec and can play anything. Use VLC player.

Try to read the micro SD card on your PC and see if the video file is still there or not. There is an app on PC which can recover deleted files but dashcam might have overwritten it when full.

What are the shortcomings in the A119 V3 has?
Thinking of getting either the A119 V2 or the A119 V3.
*
V3 is the best A119 model now. More improved than the V2.

Has buffered parking mode which V2 doesn't.

Thanks for your reply.
To use the parking mode, have to get the power from the fuse box, right?

You'll need the Viofo HK3 hardwire kit

Different sensors in both cams. Sony Exmor Starvis is the current favorite now.

Is is worthwhile/necessary to pay extra for a "High Endurance" micro SD card? Seen some in that category by Sandisk and Kingston. I've been using ordinary Kingstons and Samsung Evo Plus cards for my dash and action cams with no problems to-date.
*
Well, they are more durable than the cards you and me are using laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif and also have a warranty if used in dashcams...

But the price is a bit higher... Anyway, as long use good cards is fine...

New version of Sandisk High Endurance is similary priced as Sam Evo+.

Nice. Finally the up the write/read speed of the previous version.

But write speed still slower than Evo Plus though. Seems all high endurance have a slow write speed of 45mb/s.

Fastest high endurance is Kingston

Looks like we have much choices now. Which is excellent! Now wait for prices or discount.

How's the testing of 256GB Evo plus? Can be used nicely for Viofo A129 or A119v3?
*
Haven't open. Will try in my Q800 Pro first.

QUOTE(andyng38 @ Jul 16 2019, 02:47 PM)
Yup! Kingston has the fastest write speed. Out of curiosity, I looked up Samsung PRO Endurance cards on shopee...30mbps write and rather steep prices  sweat.gif
*
I bought 128GB Samsung Pro Endurance from US for less than USD40 if not mistaken. Waiting for my sis to bring back next month.

Anyway, heard the Pro Endurance is not going to launch in Malaysia. Maybe new version coming? Samsung Pro Endurance Plus maybe laugh.gif

Which fuse to use for 3 wires hardwire.

I have been pre-warned when I took delivery of a nrw car last week. Anything that touches the fusebox or odb2, it will void your car warranty. Most will suggest that we need to remove them when sending our car for service or warranty claim.
*
Using USB car charger also void warranty on the ciggie port laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Mine spoilt twice and Honda SC says my Aukey 4 ports QC USB car charger's fault so cannot claim warranty. But now changed to the 3rd ciggie port, until now no problems.

From your knowledge of this, it's just the ciggie port that is excluded from warranty and not the whole car right? I've sent my Honda in for servicing at SC with USB car charger attached to ciggie port before  hmm.gif
*
This depends on SC. Some SC very kwailan 1.

Read on Civic group, an owner change speakers and LED bulbs, got a fuse burnt bright back to SC and they reported to HM and his whole Civic warranty bye bye d. Less than 1 years old car.

Anyone knows where can I buy another fuse tap?
I bought an A129 with hardwire kit, but the seller only give one fuse tap, so only can use the fuse tap for either yellow or red wire only.
I've find in lazada, not sure those are safe to use or not
*
Shopee or Lazada is all overseas seller.

Jalan Pasar if you want it quick. Also from China.
