I'm not too confident on stashaway keep changing portfolios and reotptimizing.

To be frank the amount I put in here can consider huge. The percentage of gain average just about 5 to 6 %, this was throughoutast year January to this date. Which mean the high and low I also dca.

I do not understand since they said is an long term investment, why do they keep buy and sell?

I had akrunow there half the amount of stashaway, at the moment already exceeded earning at stashaway at half the time.

Also the real estate (housing in US), is at all time high, is allocating that much logical? Then a sudden shift to Australian etf.

I always thought is buy and hold, but SA keep doing all these buy sell buy sell, which is against the rule of long term investment.
*
What do you mean keep buy and sell? They reoptimised like once maybe twice in a year. Is that too much for you?

Long term investment also needs periodic review to see if any adjustments are necessary.

Think it was mentioned before also, if someone is strongly opinionated in their investment strategies, then stashaway is not for them since it cant be manually controlled apart from the risk %.

That said tho, pretty interested to know why they chose australia for the reoptimisation.

Why do people keep asking if investments are protected by PIDM?

I suppose StashAway is a relatively new concept to a majority of people and they’ve yet to do their own research.

One can say by posting there they are doing their research.

Oh you know… they’re curious.
*
well since they asked if it is protected by PIDM, shouldnt they know what PIDM does? If they do then they would know the answer already. or they just feel happy and secured with the words PIDM without knowing what they do...

hmm.gif isn't it sailang also to a max of 20% allocation to KWEB, thru 36%SRI at SA?
*
Well since KWEB fell like 12% in the past few days, about most of deposits are going to KWEB to readjust that allocation.

hmm.gif if have 10k in SA
will mean 2k in KWEB

this KWEB fell abt 30% in a month
balance in KWEB 2K - 600 = 1400

if every other holdings remains same but only KWEB fell by 30% (portfolio lost 600)

if top up RM600 now,...all will go to KWEB ?
if the above example is right,...then top up RM600,...all 100% of it will goto KWEB?
*
its your right to have doubts naturally, all I said was most of the deposit went into KWEB, a few times it was even purely KWEB.
Just sharing on the allocation. no need to go into detailed calculations, thats not why I use Stashaway.

I rode the - 30% last year too.

Just saying, everyone is a genius when the market is bull.
*
Actually what do you hate about the reoptimisation anyway?
When I saw the reallocation, thought it was quite decent.
If its about Kweb, its allocation didnt change (for my RI).

Another u don't like u keluar SA comment
*
Dont really understand your objective here.
You seem to shut out all other comments... anything that doesnt align with your current view is hostile and Stashaway fanboy.
This is just a forum for people to share on their views. Its not like anyone here can change Freddy's or his teams mind even if everyone here is objecting against their methodology.
You say nobody gives you a good explanation or rationale and say most people just keep saying "tak suka u jeluar".
But I saw many comments that were reasonably well, you just discarded them or choose to think of them as stashaway fanboys.
Seriously, I'm not happy that stashaway is currently negative also. But don't judge the community here when you yourself are showing such an attitude.

Anyone got any idea to solve this "dislike" without telling "you don't like, u get out of SA?"
*
If you go into a store to find something, but you didnt find what you want, do you go to another store to find the item? Or do you call the store manager and tell them they should start selling what you want?

"Tak suka, u keluar" may sound harsh but its basically just the solution if you dislike the platform so much that you hate its guts and cant agree with their policy.

Why would you use something you disagree with so much?

Anyway, its not like people ask him or them to keluar immediately. They chose to discard constructive feedback and discussion and cherry pick bits and pieces to argue.

If maybe what they want is for stashaway to change how they handle things, they are at the wrong place. They should go contact stashaway's management team. Not rant on a forum. Because nobody here can change how it operates.

However, none of use would be able to make any impactful change at the operational level.

But some would claim that this is a public forum for this dedicated topic and to have a meaningful discussion in a constructive manner.  hmm.gif
and best of all, you get to reoptimise your own portfolio when you think it is necessary.
*
Meaningful discussion is good, always good to have 2 sides to a subject. But being obstinate and completely disregarding other people's points and then getting offended when people suggest perhaps the platform is not suitable for them. Is that really meaningful discussion?

Why you guys so hostile towards the guy?

My sincere advice, just try to venture out and look at other ways to hold long term by directly buying the etf.

I know how to use the foreign brokerage but not comfortable with it not being regulated locally, i know this is not a problem for most, but it is for me.

This time around, we already have alternatives to directly invest in the US market locally using SC endorsed platform at a reasonable fee, of course it is not that cheap but still cheaper than using local investment bank platform
*
You might want to check who is being hostile lol...easy to see, just flip back some pages.

Btw, people already stopped talking about him yet he jumped back in just to provoke current users. So who is being hostile?

You are right about the alternatives, unfortunately that will be regarded as "tak suka, u keluar" by some.

Did some quick read on the recent 'discussion' about the reopt is bad/good. I didnt follow much on SAMY activity (bought in once and forget), didnt we have the option to select whether we want to optimize or maintain our portfolio allocations? Or has this feature been removed?
*
It was removed last month.

Question:

When one deletes a portfolio, how long does it take for SA to sell the ETFs and to return the funds to your bank account?

About a week iirc.

You can check your recent reoptimisation for the estimated selling time.
The withdrawal was very long ago for testing, cant remember clearly.

What does this mean? You had a lot of gains when kweb was like a rocket? Now down to only a few hundred gains?

Or you had a large negative in the thousands and it recovered to only negative a few hundred now?

Seems like GBP don have.

Err.. can someone kindly ELI5 why my account is GBP? SA says its due to DRB (because I have a loan?). But I don't understand why does that make them set it to GBP.

Just use search function for that. so much discussion on it already
