i duno
S2k for me, i just treat it nice at vocal only
n this s2k bookshelf bass is really for musical n just ngam ngam only
AM might more well balance for various genre songs n music

S2k might b need to aim with some Integrate amp (something like marantz, NAD those) to bring it potential?
always wanna try it but cant see any 1 here did tat b4

A humble new S2000 owner here tongue.gif Got the S2000 about 2+ weeks back, installed a used prodigy 7.1LT about a week back & loaded the foobar last saturday sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif All those setup were so complicated, dunno whether i set it up correctly or not sweat.gif

But some how, it doesn't sounds as good as the showroom set, cud be my foobar/prodigy set up not properly done or the speaker not burned in yet sad.gif Already burned in for about 42 hours though using the Edifier tool so far....normally how many hours needed to be properly burned in?

My current setup:

Pioneer 393k DVD player to S2000 via coaxial cable
foobar 9.4.3/Kernel streaming => Prodigy 7.1LT => S2000 via optical cable...I found that KS is slightly clearer than ASIO although still no wow factor.

Cud it be that my setting is wrong somewhere?? hmm.gif

Why you never try analog?
Get a nice pair of RCA cable and use Direct Sound v2 instead of Kernel Streaming or ASIO, would sound nicer IMO. smile.gif

I think i hv tried the analog once when i first got the speaker but did not really compare it against digital output thoroughly because the analog output sound so soft compared to the digital playing the same music file while maintaining the same volume position.....but that was b4 i use foobar. BTW what is Direct Sound v2?? issit using Prodigy 7.1LT driver as output thru foobar?? rclxub.gif

I strongly disagree with you bro.
Analog sometime may perform better than digital.
What i mean Direct Sound v2 here is a kinda of output for foobar2000.
As for your sound card setting, I'm not sure about it, but its better to leave it default.

analogue and digital connection depends on your source. If your soundcard is superior to the s2000's decoder, by all means just stick to the analogue cables.

I've heard kapitan setup.
Last time he was also using 7.1LT, and he tried both analog and digital, both stock cable.
Analog sounds nicer when comparing with digital.
And now he's using EMU0404, also analog.
Sounds better than 7.1LT of course.
So do give analog a try TS, maybe you'll find something better. smile.gif

my impression on this 2.0 channel with a piano finishing is just like a very nice to see but the sound quality still long way to go.....

i been tested this speaker last year before i brought my Esi NEAR05 classic.
