Firmware-wise, I would say yes. Hardware-wise, the AC2300 is better. Up to you to decide which you would go for.
What's good in the firmware of AC68 as compared to AC2300? Curious.Unifi Official TM UniFi High Speed Broadband Thread V37, READ 1ST PAGE FOR TURBO SPEED INFO!

QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 19 2019, 10:20 PM) anyone has unifi but have old copper telephone rm25 rental free. but now being charged for rm25 rental? Yes it will be charge. TM has started this exercise sometime ago when they make it possible to migrate your old copper line to Unifi. You can either keep the old line and pay RM25 or migrate it to UniFi. That is what their people told me when I sign up UniFI. Previously it was either free or Rm1 rental because they cannot port your line over, hence many people want to keep their old number.this happened after switching plan from 500Mbps to 100Mbps. previously the rental is free. ever since the switch of plan. now the rm25 is charged. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 19 2019, 10:55 PM) New line I understand. But this is old line. All the while no charge only after switching plan then it is charged. When charging plan time the counter person at Tm point also never mention anything. It's not new line, upgrade from Streamyx. I remember previously someone in this forum said he receive mail from TM to inform about the rental charge for maintaining copper line. Guest it's time you port that copper line over and forget about paying RM25 monthly.QUOTE(BreakYourLimit @ Apr 20 2019, 01:18 AM) Hello guys, I'm using Unifi Lite 10Mbps currently since early of 2018. Are you on fibre or VDSL? If fibre it's possible, try to call 100 and check. And losing very much patience since my friend at my neighbor town already gotten turbo-ed. My question is, am I eligible to upgrade to their currently 100Mbps as an existing user while all remain unchanged? Same price as my unifi lite also.... QUOTE(christina1 @ Apr 20 2019, 09:15 AM) This is indeed good news. The 300mbps pricing is attractive enough. |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 20 2019, 02:59 PM) TM will never reduce its existing RM179 300/500Mbps pack....that darned unwanted RM30 hypptv crap. I may do the same when my account is out of contract mid next year. For one of my account, I subscribe 10mbps for RM129 without free call, and now that my household requires that free call, it became RM149. So even after the turbo, TM never have the courage to change and standardise it to RM129 unless i restart my contract which I am reluctant, given that if there is a better deal i will be still stuck with the contract.Currently TM is offering RM199 for 300Mbps fibre. Seeing that both of my unifi account gonna be out of contract in fourth quarter of 2019........Maybe I will switch both to maxis 300Mbps as my neighbours keep on pestering me about discount crap. Now that Maxis 300mbps is priced at RM149, it is better than the same price I am currently paying for TM Unifi. |

QUOTE(biloxee @ Apr 20 2019, 03:55 PM) If one ports over the copper number to Unifi, if for eg. you switch your ISP to say Maxis in future, can the ported copper number be serviced by Maxis too or will you have to get an entirely new number if one switches ISP? When you switch ISP then have to get a new number, unless in future TM can allow port over of landline numbers. Not sure if you can reapply the terminated unifi number through copper line or not. This post has been edited by YoungMan: Apr 20 2019, 03:08 PM |

QUOTE(Ludwig. @ Apr 24 2019, 09:01 PM) hey there, could anyone tell me what the process is to terminate a unifi line/account? Yes usually there will be a final bill even after you terminate. Their system will generate the bill which you need to pay one last time. Try to see the breakdown of charges, is there anything mentioned? The fact your account has been remove from the portal shows it's already terminated.i took the btu to a tmpoint and filled out some documents + paid any outstanding bills + etc; up to the point where the desk lady told me everything is settled and the account is terminated. but today i got a bill in the mail for the old line and been on the phone/live chat with multiple cs people and they told me to wait until the end of the month for a "final bill". just worried they'll end up charging me for this month even when i havent used the line since december of last year. p.s. i can't see the account in my unifi care app |

QUOTE(Ludwig. @ Apr 24 2019, 09:47 PM) i would have assumed that as well, but the live chat cs people told me that they can see the order and that the process of termination is still underway; hence the final bill at the end of the month. TM has changed their rules that in order to terminate, user need to give 30 days notice and head to TMPoint between day 31 to day 35 to return the BTU and proceed with termination. In your case, I would assume the personnel just took your BTU and process the usual 30 days termination procedure, leaving you to have an extra 1 more month bill. Do check and keep us updated.i think i should head over one last time to the TMPoint for peace of mind. thanks for the help! |

QUOTE(bood @ Apr 25 2019, 05:31 PM) guys guys ... help pls .. Fight for your right. Tell them it's not your problem they do not have port. Either ask them to add more port for you to be relocated or don't charge penalty. Bring this case to MCMC for their attention.moved to new area, went to menara tm asking to relocate unifi to new place. TM say not enuff port ... my unifi has been turboed to 500mpbs and router changed FOC by TM. so looks like i have to cancel kan ?? TM said got rm500 charge to cancel ... aiyo ... free free give them 500. anyway out of this? cancel but no penalty ... QUOTE(ryuzaki_L @ Apr 25 2019, 09:18 PM) hi guys, i am upgrading my streamyx to unifi and want to keep my same fixed line number but TM claimed it depends if the numbers is already being used as unfi voice number is randomly generated. Not true. They are just lazy to port your number over. You should go to TMPoint, not agent as TMPoint can change your number over to UniFi.just curious, what are the chances that i am not going to get back my fixed line number as i don't really understand how that so called random number is generated. |

QUOTE(ryuzaki_L @ Apr 25 2019, 09:45 PM) Then good luck. I am not sure if the operator can do swiching of your number to unifi or not. If you have not upgraded, can go to TMPoint to do it.This post has been edited by YoungMan: Apr 25 2019, 08:56 PM |

QUOTE(sHsIkuA @ Apr 27 2019, 01:08 PM) So my condo doesn't support fibre yet and I am still on RM179 package for 50mbps (since it cant be turboed). TM CS told me I can't "downgrade" to the 100mbps package as its only for fibre so I am left with the RM79 one with 60gb cap. Is there any other option for me or I will need to continue paying for this expensive un-turbo internet Time or Maxis 30mbps unlimited. |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 30 2019, 10:21 PM) Seeing that Maxis 500Mbps package comes with 100Mbps upload and 800Mbps comes with 200Mbps upload similar to Unifi offers, I can only assume the upload speed will be 100Mbps for Maxis 300Mbps too. Maxis website = 300Mbps downstream and 50Mbps upstream. QUOTE(kino318 @ Apr 30 2019, 10:48 PM) i got the feedback from TM chat Upgrade then. No choice unless you are not in contract then can switch to other ISP.Do apologize sir for 30mbps Basic TM not open the IP for CCTV. We advice you to upgrade the package to unlimited speed package. what can i do? |

QUOTE(geekystef @ May 1 2019, 02:37 PM) Time is now available at the condo building. I've seen some of the drilling work done to my neighbors' units. Very badly done. There are cracks around the drilled hole; plaster cracking etc. Some units are ok. It is inconsistent. Just vote with your money and switch to Time. RM99 for 100mbps is more than what other ISP can provide. Most likely TM won't install fibre in your condo since Time is already there. Agreed about TM slaughtering us. The staff at the HQ is rude too. Sigh. In terms of stability, it is more or less the same with minimum downtime. TM do have its own downtime once in a while, so likewise Time. |

QUOTE(mmohdnor @ May 5 2019, 04:12 PM) jumping ship to Maxis after waiting so long for TM to give new offer for Unifi Biz (commercial lot). I'm on 500Mbps Turbo Unifi Biz RM274.55 including tax (259x1.06%=RM274.55, no hypptv). yes 1 month notice. If Unifi is still there, they will use back the BTU and configure lan 2 for Maxis. You then need to get a form from them stating you already subscribe their fibre, and submit to TM so TM will not ask you to return the BTU. subscribing to Maxis 300Mbps home package for RM149 (lifetime). (yay! cheaper bills) at first wanted to subscribe the RM129/100Mbps only, but due to the promo RM149/300Mbps. I took the bait. maxis salesman says the 300Mbps RM149 is just a promo for the time being, price will change in the future. Whoever subscribes now will enjoy the same price RM149/300Mbps forever. wonder what kind of router will maxis give for 300mbps package. i believe the installation will be a fast one as the wiring/cabling is already there from unifi installations right? gotta terminate the unifi once maxis come and install it. Cancellation of unifi requires 1 month notice nowadays right? But I think alternatively you can take off the BTU when the contractor come to install, so that they will give new BTU and the old one you can return to TM. |

QUOTE(ad2000 @ May 6 2019, 08:00 PM) No such thing as 1 month notice if you change to Maxis fibre. I terminated my unifi without any 1 month notice.. All you have to do is provide them the red form from Maxis.,they will terminate your unifi and no question asked Thanks. It's good then as I also learn something new. can consider changing to Maxis once my contract end. This post has been edited by YoungMan: May 6 2019, 07:48 PM |

QUOTE(atilla @ May 8 2019, 10:22 AM) Got a question about Unifi's residential infrastructure- why does closing an existing contract (already past 2yr contract), and starting a new contract require a new port at the same address? I was told that adding new ports meant pulling new cables. Is it through TMPoint or 100 customer service? Previously many change their plan and didn't heard any such story.Customer service advised me to change ownership instead and change the plan (if needed). QUOTE(Left4Dead2 @ May 8 2019, 12:57 PM) Really !? Thanks !! But really hard to find a day off to visit TM point Remember he mention that for VDSL. So most likely for fibre TM won't offer the same package. Do give it a try and let us know.I thinking hard to migrate to Maxis to save some rm40-50 every month as i not really full utlise 100mbps speed @ RM129 |

QUOTE(atilla @ May 8 2019, 04:08 PM) In that case, yes it's fifo, same as streamyx. Else you can get someone in your household member to apply for the new plan, then you terminate yours upon successful installation of the new plan. |
