Currently at 149 per month for unifi 500 plus rm 30 compulsory hypptv.

Planning to switch to maxis 500. Anyone successfully switch over paying the same monthly at 149?
*
You can switch provided your contract with TM has ended. But Maxis RM149 is 300mbps, not 500mbps. They go by the book unlike TM can offer multiple pricing to users.

QUOTE(okaoki @ Jul 16 2019, 07:06 PM)
Hi all , i got free turbo upgrade since dec 2018 , today i got message from Unifi
asking me claim my free equipment upgrade , then i do proceed and login and claim it
it stated router replacement comes with extended 2 years contract , if buy from
unifi it cost RM 188++ , and i already proceed to take it , after messaging with
UNifi facebook then realise it did not comes with modem but the website do shows
picture of modem with router .

currently my modem took 10 - 15 ++ mins to turn on , and some issues with connecting with some smartphones so i would like to change it.
should i just call 100 to ask them to change the request order to include the modem
or what?? will it extend the contract even more , last time i replace my STB which
cost RM300 but only extend 1 year contract , but how come RM 188++ router
cost me 2 years contract?
*
I suggest buy your own. If get it replace from TM will definitely restart your contract unless you pay RM188. Check out some of the recommendation on page 1, some of them quite affordable.

I just logged into unifi online portal and I'm not eligible for speed boost. I'm on the 100 Mbps package, landed property. Should I give them a call?
*
100mbps at RM129? no speed upgrade for that package. Those who got speed upgrade are from previous old package which are paying more than the current price.

Yes just read through the thread here. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4617839/+1680

Knowledge gained. With budget of around RM500-600, what would be the next best option?

Tp-Link Archer C2300?
*
Also the Archer C3150 V2 if your budget can go around 700+.

Tumpang thread, Maxis is distributing its Fibrenation leaflets to every house in my housing area. Could this means Unifi is available in my housing area?

Thanks.

High chance available. Go and sign up before port full, because , if port full it will take ages to add new one.

Yeah, you're probably right. Probably just a coincidence that they were in my area at that time. But, basing this on my previous experience with them, a report could go one to two business days before being attended to,haha. With tomorrow being a weekend, I was afraid that I'd have to go without wired connection for the weekend, haha.
*
Sometime we just underestimate them. I once was surprise a technician came and fix my streamyx on sunday. Without calling he just appear at my doorstep.

QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Jul 28 2019, 07:42 PM)
it seems like my AC1200 router starts to close wifi connection by itself and refuse connections from multiple devices, and sometimes it'll be in the reboot state (but won't be booted). this time the router can run sites in local DNS e.g. lowyat, but couldn't access other websites such as github, steam, dropbox etc. should i call the service center and have technicians to replace the router? the unifi TV works though.
*
Highly suggest you look through first post and buy your own router. It is better than the one provided by TM. Or else, get them to replace your router and restart contract.

Thanks bro...
the TM point in option 2, it must be direct TM, or dealer is ok?
i also not sure of the reward, will need to check, so if technically i go terminate on the spot, and if any balance to settle, can use the point to deduct too?

I am yet to decide what to do, but just worry of the removal of promo discount will spike the cost, which i think i not willing to continue with...haha...
whether to downgrade to slower 1 (like 100Mbps), or change (e.g. MaxisOne prime) or something else
*
Must be TMPoint, cannot terminate at deeler.

another question,
let's say if i wanna request unifi to give me the latest router. (i don't mind renewing contract).
what model will they give? (i'm at 500mbps package)
*
Those mentioned in post 1 are the latest router. You will get one of those.

QUOTE(joeblow @ Jul 31 2019, 08:29 PM)
Hi there, I am currently using Ugreen cat 7 cable and planning to order more today. Are you saying it is actually fake? Cat 6 sold as cat 7? If so I might as well buy cat 6 which is cheaper.

On another topic, I am currently using Cat 7 from modem to router, over 20 meters. From router to ps4 Pro and laptop is either Cat 5e or Cat 6. I am on 100Mbps Unifi and my laptop speed test ping is around 7 to 9 (8 most of the time) and speed up to 100 to 110+ Mbps. However when I do a speed test on ps4 Pro, it goes up to 300Mbps plus despite I am only on 100Mbps.

So my question is, is my wired connection only capable to go up 300 plus or is it Sony Ps4 Pro tests only up to 300 plus?
*
Can you attach screenshots of your speed test? 100mbps how can get up to 300mbps speed?

I have the same problem as you, and what's worst, I am paying RM232.15 including hyppty,  been using since streamyx time then been upgrading, and even though the contract is already over, they also never prompt to offer lower the fees, I have been paying like this for ages, and feeling frustrated, I am unable to sub for new the new 100mb packages and save some money. (new and faster packages are much cheaper than what I am paying)

Am currently looking for alternative and (not sure whether i can mention here or not), I am currently looking at the Mxxxx telco coz of the prime package converts their home 30mb package and mobile to unlimited data if both is from the same telco.

working out the maths, i still save instead of paying RM232 for bad internet. I am unable to play online games for almost 1 year due to the constant lag and DC. tv box gets constant DC, watching films online occasionally face lag issue.

If others have any better options, please, I am also open for suggestions.
*
No better option than Maxis, unless your place is covered by Time Broadband. Go ahead and switch, since TM will not offer you any lower pricing.

QUOTE(draco072 @ Aug 9 2019, 01:19 AM)
That is the exact thing that i am worried about. I have been anti Mxxxx since the beginning of time, even my friend who worked with them for more than 10 years told me not to switch coz M piggyback on TM and if there is a problem, it takes ages to solve, he said this because he had a friend whose problem took 1 month to solve, when complain to M, M have to check with TM, then check with client to see which party is fauty, and it goes around the world to solve a problem.

Anyway, my situation is I am paying RM232 for a 30MB line where i cannot upgrade further, if I were to switch to their new 30MB package, 1st i will be tied into the new 24 months contract. 2nd, it has a 60GB quota, and hypptv need to sub separately. I don't watch tv but family members does. My current mobile is with C, where i am paying around RM 90 a month for 30gb quota. makes the total to be RM 322.

If I switch to M prime, means i sub their lowest package 30mb for RM 89 and 1 mobile line (which i can port mine over) for RM 98 that makes the total of RM187 and both home and mobile will be unlimited internet quota.

so, (TM+C)-M = RM135 savings.

so, the numbers looks great, only setback is worrying that if there are problems, it takes ages to solve. I read in many other threads, they said that if current TM line is good then M will be good. true fact, my current TM line sucks, constant DC, drops, lags. I am guessing if i switch, I am getting the same problem.

The only pro side is the savings.
The con side is the technical support.

TIME isn't available so I can''t consider that.

Hiah...headache

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Aug 9 2019, 08:49 AM)
Same situation..for now I really dont like paying RM 189, but really concern about the tech support of M that's why don't really dare to switch, cos also got contract - not like can switch back easily...unless got better alternative - for now don't seem like much choice but to retain with T

Check on Celcom Fibre then.
I'm still gonna give them the benefit of doubt when my UniFi contract end, but haven't decide to go for Maxis or Celcom.

QUOTE(quineMc @ Aug 16 2019, 03:44 PM)
just came back from Menara TM. Apparently they only offer the 30Mbps super value for those wanting to terminate their line. They ask me how the hell i know about this offer lol. They cant do it on the spot for those who walk in and as this package, need to escalate for approval and they rubbishly told me need to pay rm200 for this downgrade plan(i'm no longer in contract for my 50mbps).
*
Then just submit termination directly to them and wait for offer.

QUOTE(safe118 @ Aug 16 2019, 03:51 PM)
Hi Sifu, am planning to terminate the current unifi account (2 yrs contract were ended long-long time ago) and apply a new one due to cheaper package . Anyone know how long is the procedure?

Someone was telling me that there will be risk that there is insufficient port at the housing area & hence i cant apply again.
*
Just apply to change to new package without termination. Contract will restart for 2 years.

I recently moved to a high rise building which only completed in less than a year. This area has only unifi coverage but not TIME.

I applied for unifi and the agent said port is available at my place. But the issue is the agent can't choose my unit number since my unit number is missing in the system??? But somehow my next door neighbor unit is there?!

She ask me to report to TM and I already made a report last 2 weeks. Been following up with TM but CS kept saying my issue already being escalated and can't give ETA.

Anyone can advise? I'm usually work from home so this kinda troublesome and mobile data is quite slow.
*
For your case it's better you visit nearest TMPoint, not the small TM deeler. Usually they will be able to help you register as their system is not so up to date, but they know your area already has Unifi.

My condo max speed is only up to 30Mbps and i doubt the management would upgrade the building infrastructure to fibre.
Any one here encounter the same situation and has subscribed to unifi or maxis 30Mbps ? Can get the good internet speed ?
*
If it is 30mbps only, it's the same regardless. But Maxis 30mbps has semmetrical speed whereas UniFi 30mbps only gives you 10mb upload.

Would you guys recommend to swap from unifi to maxis fibre ? Just received a call last night  about it from the telemarketer.
*
My take is that, if you wish to go for 300mbps and above, then yes because Maxis is cheaper. If you are on 100mbps at RM129, it's the same. If you are on older package and paying very high pricing, can consider either downgrade to RM129 or switch to Maxis. Both will give you 2 years contract.

QUOTE(pakji @ Sep 9 2019, 04:15 PM)
Please Don't take Maxis fibre
because unstable and to many complant you may check facebook

please stay unifi don't take maxis fibre
if you change maxis fibre you will get trouble like unstable and sleep slow then will line down you call maxis will say 24hours technical arrange will call back
after 24hours + more then nobody call back technical and no come then you call maxis again will say 48hours then after 48hours still no call back and still no come then call again will say same 48hours keep saying then you get no internet access like few weesk near 1 month
they almost no settle

so compare unifi if line down you call tm they will say 24hours then after 24hours+ technical call back then technical  come at house then fixed then no more problem like that

please stay unifi please don't take maxis fibre because poor connection maxis
*
Only for certain area bro. Can you use that facebook statement to justify the whole nation's service?
