I think it might be due to the streaming apps bundle with the vernacular packs. Back then TM doesn’t offer one, just the HyppTV Everywhere app companion.

I see that Unifi TV is now shifting/broaden its IPTV business towards a streaming hub for us customers.

They don’t care about the amount of linear channels they have; as long as the quality of content matters, that should be enough for them & us. Well, it would be a plus if the picture quality improvement counts too. They know what they’re doing.

Now with the recent bundling of Vidio & TVBAnywhere+ with Aneka+ & Ruby+ Packs respectively, those two apps aren’t cheap ones for sure, considering their unique content offerings, let alone TM itself has to cover massive expenses to bring in those popular apps through Unifi TV Packs overall; that’s why TM revise the prices for all 3 vernacular packs including Varnam+ Pack. And, still it’s cheaper than market prices.

Overall, I can say that the streaming apps bundling that Unifi TV offers are very compelling and quite affordable as well. Bang for the buck.

I think its time for them to up the audio/visual quality, their APP quality (donut loading issue)....its already quite pricey nowadays since their already surpass RM100++ for their flagship packs! There's no need for 4K, but visually and framerate needs to be at least 50fps !!

I think they'll launch some of the most wanted channels soon. I can feel they're trying to bring in Sun TV for Varnam+ pack. Just my assumption because that's probably the most expensive Indian (specifically Tamil) channels and OTT (SunNXT). 😁

I hope they will stick to the channels operated by the same OTT providers they licensed from, like TVB Jade and TVB Xing He since they got TVB Anywhere+, and Sun TV and KTV if they launch SunNXT on the platform. 😁

Same questions. If got HBO GO, why need HBO channels? If got BBC Player, why still need BBC channels?

I would rather watch linear channels over OTT apps if both show the same title.

some people still prefer to watch "whatever on TV", instead of deciding and not knowing what to pick from the app.

it's called "paradox of choice". When you have too much to choose from, you end up choosing nothing. And it's common among streaming app users.

Just checked my Aneka Plus Unifi account. Currently sub Viu. Can change to TVB VOD, iQiyi, Zee5, Simply South, WeTV & MangoTV.

Previously I remember don't have so many choices.

Nah. PAL (which we are part of) is broadcasted at 50FPS. Only NTSC countries broadcast at 60FPS (59.994FPS). Broadcasting equipments are standardised, and tied to our electricity frequency (50Hz 240V vs 60Hz 110V). So it's unlikely we will get any 60FPS transmission.

Fellow members shared that it is 1080p so you might reconsider

Thanks for info

Probably those who commented earlier was before them upgrading to 1080p

Nevertheless, I had made the switch and will be able to start using it in another 2 weeks
