The only time I did this was when I was working with a company which had 3 months notice for resignation. Got a job one and a half months after tendering.
If your job has a long notice period then it might be the only way. Hardly anyone willing to wait or buy out for 3 months. |

QUOTE(bonkers28 @ Jan 15 2019, 09:41 AM) yeah, you really have to have balls to quit without a job in sight. I have always told my myself and my friends that it would be really unwise to tender their resignation without a job in sight..... yup me too, used to think its unwise and stupid to quit even b4 u got a new job.... but some times.... u just need to walk out from the corporate shit hole..... or demotivating bosses.... some war u win some war u lose.... thats corporate ladder.... always have some 6 to 12 mths funds to fall back on!Until one fine day, I found myself doing just that --- quitting my job without a job offer. I just could not take the working environment there anymore. Sure, I had commitments but it just came to a point where I could not take it anymore. I just didn't care anymore... I was just feeling so depressed there. It wasn't just me that quit without a job, at least 3 other colleagues of mine also quit their jobs without a job offer. Now I tell my friends, sure, you can quit your job without a job offer but make sure you have enough savings in your emergency fund to sustain your lifestyle for the next 6 months at least... That's just me.... |

done the same..but i had to quit because heavy travelling till the point that i have to cancel job interviews...so while in my notice period i worked closely with several recruiters to at least get interview session with potential employers.. thank god before my notice ends, i secured a job. we all need to be positive and plan ahead. of course you'll be stressed out but thats part of life...soon there's a light at the end of the tunnel. stay strong and believe in yourself you will secure a job soon enough

I did mine coz I need to server 3 months of notice. I only managed to secure a job just less than 2 weeks before my notice period ended. I quite risky to do coz its all depends on your own luck to get a new job.
