Ha, yes. Another job related thread in kopitiam. I have been contemplating to tender my resignation since September last year but I have been holding back due to various reasons. One of it is I have no job offer currently that will encourage me to throw the letter to my HR dept.

For those fellow members in here who tendered without any job offer in sight, I really respect you guys for being so courageous.

yeah, you really have to have balls to quit without a job in sight. I have always told my myself and my friends that it would be really unwise to tender their resignation without a job in sight.....

Until one fine day, I found myself doing just that --- quitting my job without a job offer. I just could not take the working environment there anymore. Sure, I had commitments but it just came to a point where I could not take it anymore. I just didn't care anymore... I was just feeling so depressed there.
It wasn't just me that quit without a job, at least 3 other colleagues of mine also quit their jobs without a job offer.

Now I tell my friends, sure, you can quit your job without a job offer but make sure you have enough savings in your emergency fund to sustain your lifestyle for the next 6 months at least...

That's just me....

same here, I just had to leave because suicidal thoughts were starting to form in my head.
Unhealthy I know, that's why I too, walked away before I really do the unspeakable to myself

Good advice, always be prepared, you are never irreplaceable no matter how good you are or close you are to the boss/owners. Even dogs get sent to the shelter or left in another address.

I cannot agree more..
My colleague was considering to resign then his team lead somehow found out then she told him to his face "you want to go for interview? Go ahead lah! You are EASILY REPLACEABLE!!"
