Ha, yes. Another job related thread in kopitiam. I have been contemplating to tender my resignation since September last year but I have been holding back due to various reasons. One of it is I have no job offer currently that will encourage me to throw the letter to my HR dept.

For those fellow members in here who tendered without any job offer in sight, I really respect you guys for being so courageous.

So far I've seen people resigning without a new opportunity because beh tahan the boss. Many left abruptly being terminated for wrongdoings.

Many many years ago i did that.

Resigned (with one month notice) without a job offer.

The next few days, I attended an interview and got a job.

There was still roughly one month left to go.

Each must have their own survival strategies, and how long you can last without salary income.

If yours can sustain 6 months, min lifestyle. I think it should be adequate period for new job hunt.

However, you may also do odd job to extend the 6 months period. Just don't expect saving and holiday during this period.

I tendered my resignation before i found another job, the waiting is nerve wrecking, i made sure i'm always on jobstreet applying jobs almost everyday and going interview almost everyday. worse come to worst just lower your expectation a bit, at least you get a chance to go to an interview first smile.gif

sometimes resignation is not about the job, its about the people around you.

at least this is the reason i resign, job is great, just too many shit people around

Resigning without job offer is possible but you must have atleast 6 months worth of your current salary in your banking account. Statistic say, you will need atleast 6 months to secure new job but considering current economic I say you must atleast saved up 1 year salary.
