I just encountered a case today where it happened in the afternoon. The case goes like this:

I am x student from university. It was after work I ordered a Grab car to go back to my campus. I selected x University as the destination. When the driver arrived at the campus, I directed him to go to the hostel area. The fee was RM14 and I was charged with another additional RM2, so total RM16. I reported to Grab asking why they charged me additional RM2. After clarification, Grab says the driver reported that I changed my drop-off destination. Here is the argument:

- My destination was x university. The drop off point is at the hostel which is also in the university. Driver says I changed drop off point. I understand on the map it was marked at the uni gate. Other selection was available as well eg. canteen, gym, library....but none was hostel. If I selected library for example, which is closer to the hostel, the driver will still report I changed drop off destination.

- Grab blamed me for not selecting the proper drop-off point and I replied the drop-pff point was unavailable. So supposingly it is their fault not having the selection and charge me for their mistake.

- The time to reach between main gate and hostel is so near. I have encountered many drivers who don't kira the mile.

Dear Grab, thanks for letting me down so I can finally decide to uninstall your app.

which X university u mentioning?

I've been to UM, UITM and UPM and this kind of national university so damn huge. U should have let grab know the map doesn't have this location name and let them do something with it.

Before that u can use pin point location to locate where u are what.

RM2 additional is a fair price as your actual drop off point was at the main gate.
If you do not want to pay extra, then should just get down at the main gate. And walk since is near.

Better take teksi next time. Coz the teksi meter will keep on counting right at the actual drop off point.

Yalor. No argument on that. I was not satisfied with their selection not having precise location. Email-ed them and they asked for the address. That just left me speechless.

If rider pin at gate UM, then ask u enter 12th college hostel, i can confirm need to walk at least 900m, if car at least 2km and above.

So i ask which university is it, yet TS don't want to answer. The only thing i can guess is very very new building, most of the building in Malaysia already geo-tag inside the map.

Ask TS distance from gate to hostel also don't want answer, i as driver meet some of this kind of rider before already.

"Eh depan sikit bukan sini, belok kiri, belok kanan" I saw the mileage already extra 1km. doh.gif

There is once I send 2 riders to UtM. ( 2 drop off point at 0012 hrs. )
The drop off point is different and quite far.
There is no signboard for way out.
Some gate are closed due to timing, so canโ€™t rely on gpS. ๐Ÿ˜”
Luckily managed to get some help from passerby and got out. ๐Ÿ˜…
So far havenโ€™t get ping towards there ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
Not my cup of tea.

What? Is this your worst Grab experience? I've heard/read way worse than this. RM2 extra personally for me is quite fair.

But I just want to know, when you tell the driver to go the hostel, did he tell you that he is going to charge extra RM2?

Everyone has their own choices. (Regarding delete app)

If the driver told you beforehand he is going to extra charge RM2, then it sounds fair.

Everything or everyone has room for improvement. (Grab app)
If you are not willing to contribute for new location or whatever other stuffs, also show how you are as a person.

I should not waste too much time replying. Thanks.

the driver should just wait for 5 mins and cancel for this kind of rider...

waste of time...

if UM students put gate and ask me go inside what xx faculty, i ask him flykite lol

inside turning here and there can cost u extra few km..

so far all put the right pick up point...

btw, yesterday, i fetch few Japanese and its multi stop. in btw the stop, i waited like 10 mins, the Japanese keep saying sorry and give me extra RM10...

this is the difference of rider who know their fault and sincere and those think they are king...

Your situation happened to me once when i fetched a student back to uniten. He said he couldnt find the exact location therefore he just put uniten, which the dop is at the gate.

He happily gave me extra rm5 for sending him back to his exact destination despite uniten is just a small campus. Of course, that also included the time i waited him to withdraw money at the cimb atm inside the campus.

Just admit that u r just another cheapkate rider who complain grabcar is expensive while sipping an expensive starbucks' drink. Threathen to delete the app? What r u going to do next? Walk?
