How are they gonna solve the charges that will be imposed on the smaller merchants by the bank?

It's easy for these smaller merchants to accept e wallets since the MDR will be either none or just like a little, but as for cards, it's gonna be more than that right?

But it's a good initiative, I enjoyed the experience when I was in R&R at Ayer Keroh.

that's the conundrum when going cashless.

merchants are being onboarded by boost/banks, then have to bear the MDR

unless these fees are subsidized by PLUS by offsetting from the rental? just guessing. sweat.gif

also, most small merchants/traders are reluctant to go cashless due to transparency (sales value, volume, traffic). unless PLUS has no view of the merchant's transactions and sales value, then OK. if the merchant onboarding is tied to PLUS (as master merchant), then PLUS has overall view to all its participating merchants/traders in the R&R locations.

Don't think the charge matter much since it is based on percentage.
Should be around 0.6-0.8% for local debit cards and 1.3-2.5% for local credit cards.

Such the irony tho, TnG (both card and ewallet) should have dominated this long time ago.

Basically lots of things for PLUS to consider to successfully make their R&R's fully cashless...

During the time when I was in Ayer Keroh R&R, 9/10 merchants accepted Boost, so it's not entirely complete yet.

But then again, e wallets won't be an issue since the MDR is little to none, unless the merchant itself is too stingy or not doing well in business.

However, accepting card payments will be hard, there's a reason why smaller merchants that we see around us nowadays don't accept card payments as opposed to countries like Korea or Europe which rely on cards in almost everywhere.

Majority of Malaysians use CC more often, it will probably be a big deal for smaller merchants as they have to get charged by the bank at that rate, unless their business is doing very well.

Merchants will just increase price. The ones that suffer are the consumers.

Hi,
I rcved email and state to spend 49.41 and will get 3.71 on 12 June. and I have spent more than 50 before Sunday but til now I have not rcv the 3.71.
I make a complaint, CS said Rm49.41 or above spent must be in single transaction. sad.gif
*
U can try to argue if you want. just say the email is misleading and didn't say have to spend in a single transaction .

p.s my friend also complains and send a lot of emails till CS give in and give him the cashback, but it gonna takes time and not necessarily work.

PLUS aims to go cashless at all its rest areas

https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...its-rest-areas/

GEORGE TOWN: PLUS Malaysia Bhd is targeting for all its rest and service areas (RSAs) in the country to go cashless by end-2020 .

Chief commercial officer Christine Liew told StarBiz that PLUS was currently working with Visa, Boost e-wallet and other credit card companies to achieve the objective.

Hopefully at least half of KL will be accepting e wallets by that time...

Selangor areas should be more than that since they're really aggressive in expanding the e wallet acceptance.

My advise is not to change card. just stick the 2 card added to your account. If change card too frequent, ended up like your case, not able to reload due to "suspicious activities". Good luck
*
The thing is I only change it once. N if we are not allowed to change the cards, what happen when our cards expired? Right now I only remove the Amex because it's no longer having benefits, and change with another card. If that new card is not able to reload, then I'm fine, but the existing other card, that I never removed?

it allow actually, just give it some cool down time. during the Amex last cashback day, added the same Amex card to new account but failed, then remove from existing account and let it cool down for 1 day and can be added successful.

It's been more than a day. And when I ask about it, they are saying something about fraudulent transaction. If that is the case, they should inform the user (Boost side fraud) or the credit card company will call us about it.

The more you ask them, the more they have attention on your account. Just wait few days before reload, dont keep trying. You will trigger the suspicious activities on their site if try too many times.
