This is the reason why they shift their call centre to Malaysia but not in those developed country.. Because the labour cost is cheaper in here..

I went to interview for ASP.NET position on this Tuesday that is my fren recommend get a try for the job. However, i dont feel wan blacklist by hsbc and try the interview.. quick fast.. But i heard IT staff benefits are differ than bank staff due to HSBC IT is consider another company but held by HSBC. So , hsbc wont provide bank benefits to IT staffs but with standard benefits... how about working life inside?! |

QUOTE(evolutionchin @ Feb 21 2012, 09:59 PM) This is the reason why they shift their call centre to Malaysia but not in those developed country.. Because the labour cost is cheaper in here.. Yeah. And it's a good thing there are competent workers in KL/Cyberjaya carrying the rest, otherwise they will move the remaining jobs to their other "centres", like India, Philippines, Bangladesh etc. I'm not saying those others are better - in fact I don't expect them to be any better than Malaysia (maybe even worse). Quite frankly when you're looking for stable yet relatively low income economies to recruit labour, Malaysia is already very appealing - maybe not the lowest of incomes (wages paid) like Bangladesh, China, or India, but certainly comparably competent (enough to do the work that has been brought over from Britain, Hong Kong etc). And this is a travesty, she could use a lot of improvement in terms of labour productivity and competence.QUOTE(kayweng @ Feb 24 2012, 01:00 PM) how about IT working life in HSBC? This thread mainly concerns HDPM (branded HSBC Global Resourcing), which is of course a company separate from HSBC Bank Malaysia or HSBC Amanah Malaysia or HSBC Amanah Takaful... needless to say, all these are ultimately owned by HSBC. I don't know what the "bank benefits" you refer to are, but technically HDPM is not a bank, rather a bank's operations subsidiary. I wouldn't know if the HDPM benefits compare to HSBC Bank Malaysia's benefits.I went to interview for ASP.NET position on this Tuesday that is my fren recommend get a try for the job. I have no idea what HSBC IT falls under, but it likely goes under HSBC Global Resourcing (if it does, it may have comparable benefits to HDPM). |

Received a call from them earlier this week, during phone interview, the HR dude said he'd recommend me a backoffice position (forgot to enquire exactly which dept), and salary range 2300-2800.
Is it a common salary range for this position, or just "verbal talk only"? |

Thanks, I've narrowed it down Global Support Executive ? Global Banking & Markets. What's a typical workday like in the shoes of a GBM exec - do they do data processing entirely, or have to follow up with customers?

That's within the usual pay range. In fact it leans towards high if you're an entry level employee. Also depends on department or area.Is it a common salary range for this position, or just "verbal talk only"? Some people do a lot more work than others, some at different levels of complexity. Customers are normally counterparts (your equal, another person like you doing the same job for your client/competitor). Depends on your role within your team, it could mean phone conversations on a regular (multiple times per day) basis, or just emails. In a very crude way the work can be reduced to the term "data processing" but within GBM all this is under Trade Management/Reconciliations, which is broadly under the Operations section of an Investment Bank's GBM div. |

QUOTE(kingsora @ Feb 20 2012, 07:34 PM) Hi, there I went for the interview on 18/2 and got a call a few days later to collect my offer letter on 22/2, do a medical check up and fill in the onboarding form. I should start on 27/2 in AUCC but they have to switch me to Bermuda centre because my sister is at AUCC. So, I will start on 1st March. Who else is going to start at HDPM Cyberjaya this 1st March? Good luck to us! |

My gf went for the interview on the same day as you. She got the call few days later telling about her success. However until now there's no news about her offer letter, they just said that the email will arrive. Now she's worried. Does anyone have HDPM HR's contact number ?
It will be of great help to me. Thanks. This post has been edited by kingsora: Feb 28 2012, 08:09 PM |

QUOTE(bearobear @ Mar 14 2012, 09:07 PM) i really doubt someone basic is rm3000, unless he/she is a Level 7 (ass man). GSE are level 8.word of advice:if u get called for interview in KL, kindly ask if you are under GBM, HSS or GP (general processing). i have friends in HSS and GBM, after a couple of years in HDPM, GBM and HSS definitely gives better pay compare to GP. oh and i am in GP. cheers This post has been edited by Kakashinn: Mar 15 2012, 02:24 AM |
