I see... that's unfortunate. I mean I think it would be sensible if some people worked days, and some people worked nights, and if the people who worked nights were paid more, fair's fair.

It's destructive and unproductive for workers/employees to have a rotating shift that is as drastic as the one you've described, round 24 hours. Surely the employer should know this.

Should I just try it out? Nothing to lose if I resign right?

Will I suffer any losses or issues if I choose to quit?

Of course, the proper way. But what is appropriate? How long do you actually have to work there to justify a resignation?

is it ethical for me to call or walk-in to ask the UK manager before signing the offer letter..i already called th HR but they suggest to refer to my contact person..but the problem is the contact person does not have the descriptin on the shift matter and blamed me for not making the confirmation during the 2nd interview..

For HSBC Cyber, is the point of entry (for the free transport) not in KL? Otherwise, where is it?

1 month sounds reasonable.

Ok, so shifts change every 3 months, does this apply for all employees (for 4 different countries)?

When employed, you stick to that single country/city, correct?

When I get the offer letter, do I get the shift information/working hours info as well? Or will I not be told about the/my shifts until only after I've been working for some time?

when u get ur offer letter u will not able to know the confirm shift as the shift changes quarterly.
I'm in malaysia call center dept,my shift is previously 4pm-1am.now is 5pm-2am.
depends on the dept.
only some dept operate 24hours.
if u get position in GBM or HSS maybe no need rotate.Just stick to the shift.
But as u mention u r either US or UK,i can tell u u will most probably get 3am shift.

Not sure what HSS is, but I *think* that I've gotten Securities for HK (because none of those details have been received).

Even if the offer letter does not have info about changing shifts, will it have info about my hours, the job dept info etc?
I haven't been to get the offer letter yet (not available). I was only told the start dates and salary.

Thanks for replying.

if u being offered securities for Hk then is HSS liao.
if HSS is 9am-6pm liao, not much rotate d.
*this is according to my fren la,i not really sure.U can pm him in this forum.his id:siokjinlim*
he is also in HSS dept.

the offerletter will not state any info about ur working hour and dept info.
as it is general offer letter.it will mainly state the company regulation and the important thing nia.
but u can request for ur job detail from them la.so no worry.
