package they offer me:

basic 2100
language allowance RM200 for mandarin and cantonese
if we get work on night shift (9pm onwards to the next day) RM250 allowance

the salary sound interesting for a fresh grad for me.
But duno how is the salary afterward...i mean after u work there for long time.Do they easily get promoted or salary increase or wat?

they did not give me any chinese test as well. one of the interviewers just checked my spm, i took chinese and they say oh good. thats  all =/  .they told me there is language allowance but i wonder when will i sit for the mandarin test?  One of their weaknesses is, the way the deal with email is very inefficient. they are hiring quite a large number of ppl i suppose.
*
if not mistaken
the turnover rate in hsbc GSE is very high.
so they will recruit everyone as long as it is not too terrible.
my badge of interview candidates all get accepted if not mistaken.

very troublesome the whole process.
u need to go the klinik segara in the intermark and then give your urine sample.
then go back to ampang park shoppin mall for chest xray
then go back to intermark again for bp,height and weight check
then can get ur xray n letter.
is free.

why u collect offer letter first then only medical check up d?
we medical check up first then only collect offer letter d wor.

wen submit,no need bring xray film, jus bring the letter can liao.

is it ethical for me to call or walk-in to ask the UK manager before signing the offer letter..i already called th HR but they suggest to refer to my contact person..but the problem is the contact person does not have the descriptin on the shift matter and blamed me for not making the confirmation during the 2nd interview..
*
even u can confirm ur shift now,you will still have diff shift hour after 3months.
coz normally they will change shift every quarter.
Unless u r lucky enuf to get the same shift everytime.

I was going to do just that.

for hsbc it require a 1month notice.
and i would adv u to actually apply for hsbc cyber as have free transport.
if in KL then u have to find parking and etc.So expensive.

For HSBC Cyber, is the point of entry (for the free transport) not in KL? Otherwise, where is it?

1 month sounds reasonable.
*
there is some pick up point in kl,
just that i was not really sure coz i duno wer i kept my schedule liao.
i take mine from sban pick up point.
there is quite a number pick up point.if not mistaken 1 is in puchong,1 is salak selatan/cheras,and others cant recall.
they only have transport to cyberjaya.
for kl only nite i think.

and if u drive to kl,the parking 1 day need RM6

Ok, so shifts change every 3 months, does this apply for all employees (for 4 different countries)?

When employed, you stick to that single country/city, correct?

When I get the offer letter, do I get the shift information/working hours info as well? Or will I not be told about the/my shifts until only after I've been working for some time?

TY
*
when u get ur offer letter u will not able to know the confirm shift as the shift changes quarterly.
I'm in malaysia call center dept,my shift is previously 4pm-1am.now is 5pm-2am.
depends on the dept.
only some dept operate 24hours.
if u get position in GBM or HSS maybe no need rotate.Just stick to the shift.
But as u mention u r either US or UK,i can tell u u will most probably get 3am shift.

Not sure what HSS is, but I *think* that I've gotten Securities for HK (because none of those details have been received).

Even if the offer letter does not have info about changing shifts, will it have info about my hours, the job dept info etc?
I haven't been to get the offer letter yet (not available). I was only told the start dates and salary.

Thanks for replying.
*
if u being offered securities for Hk then is HSS liao.
if HSS is 9am-6pm liao, not much rotate d.
*this is according to my fren la,i not really sure.U can pm him in this forum.his id:siokjinlim*
he is also in HSS dept.

the offerletter will not state any info about ur working hour and dept info.
as it is general offer letter.it will mainly state the company regulation and the important thing nia.
but u can request for ur job detail from them la.so no worry.

i get a call for this position.. i just dun think it is kinda fair.. degree holder for 1700 to 2000. is this probation salary? yes as fresh grad and entry level job.. but inside heart felt not nice.. haiz
*
honey dont worry
in HSBC basic is low...but still have many many more allowance XD

let take me for example (call center)
my basic used to be 2100
i have a fixed allowance of 500
(language 400 for mandarin+canto, product credit card)
and we have variable bonus depend on rating where i normally score 420
rating 1:520,rating 2:420,rating 3:200,rating 4:0

so it will be approximately 3100 for a newbie like me...

but of course the training month u'll only get ur basic as u no need take call.

and call center work mcm gila kohkoh but its job for some.not for the faint hearted this call centre.and yes hdpm pays a bit lower no matter what dept/function you go but if plan to stay the pay is good as you move up the various ratings they have for various depts they have there.

some basic low, tp allowance banyak as the above, some allowance tarak, but basic a bit high, ada various other benefits and work not that tough...and there is also some other + here - there...its all mixed and match la in hdpm.

but if you want a pay that fits the career path youve studied then hdpm is not the right place kohkoh.
*
yea call center macam gila man...seriously!
so call center job need those who is flexible n able to cope wit stress n SLA...or those who urgently need cash~
in the same time need to be good also in all the product n system navigation...
the first few months is damn suffer la...but after 2months max,u can half way chit chat wit colleague half way handle cust ady...
somemore now with more ppl in the process, the call will be lesser for u to take...
last time we 1 day around 100+ call...siao...coz shortage of ppl...
now 1 day 60 u consider good ady...!
but the working environment for my dept is damn cun i can tell...
i like my AMO n my teammate so much~!
and the only JJ in Msia...

but i do agree that career pathway wise will be stuck la

Hi Fire,

Thank for your reply, between, how do you know your result??

The HR personnel even didn't request for application form...

no worry...
after the test we are called for interview...so my test result is on the manager desk ma...
he cover it with my application form...but i still manage to peep the marks' corner...
haha XD

but i can tell u if u apply tru HSBC HR itself vy slow d...
if u apply tru jobstreet then faster coz jobstreet they all get $$ for intro ppl in so they will follow up wit HR.
If not HSBC HR vy slow d...
if possible jus ring them up n chase them.

but u c the same batch ppl wit u did they being called for interview after eng assessment?
all no interview or only u??
