Im working in HDPM CYB under support services dept.... in it for 2 days... i'll see how it goes...

From what i heard in my induction, HSBC is a performance driven company. once you enter, your degree or masters doesnt matter. Work hard play hard, and you'll see the benefits of working with HSBC.

Wat say me? I just like the free drinks and transport... biggrin.gif
too early to say anything... salary 1.8. im just SPM leaver wor, so i cannot complain...

What sort of transport?

Also where are you located?

Could you tell me what you do at work?
*
free bus... the service is called DTS dedicated transport service. .when you get in you'll know the device used

im in pj... near taman dato harun... park my bike at kl sentral and walk few meters to the bus stand... quite punctual...

my work is emmm mail and courier, and employee lockers.

working in hsbc in considered permanent to answer your previous question on the prev page...

Added on November 30, 2010, 10:42 pmfree transport is only for cyberjaya hdpm... not klc... klc need your own transport...

kl or cyberjaya? if you said your flexible during interview... higher chance to get thru... but you have to consider that theres no transport to klc... and that THEY WILL ask you to go to klc to do work there. it depends on dept... call center no need coz no cc in klc... thats what i heard... dei 4 days only la.... have mercy if what i said is wrong...

Oh, you're morning shift, nice.

I was told about the night shift only.

9-6 for you?

Do you ever have to work until night?

TY.
*
my shift will rotate between 9 - 6, 12 - 9, 3 -12

if take DTS then got no reason to work late... (dont let this be the reason for you not being able to work late) hahahahaha but you will be required to work more time without OT... but you can take time off, you just have to kawtim with line manager icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry I don't understand what you're saying...

IF you use the transport service then you WON"T work late?

You have to work 9-6 then 12-9 then 3-12?
How often does this change?

Sounds brutal man.

I wasn't told about rotating shifts, or even about day shifts.
Gotta reconsider now.

oh... now i know why you dont understand...

the DTS bus will only pick you up after the shift time you booked for, you cannot board the bus anytime you want... that means if you work from 9 - 6. YOU HAVE to catch the 6.15pm bus or else you have to go thru alot of hassle rebooking and going to support services and notifying the bus drivers that you missed that bus... bla bla bla... i dunno bout you guys but i am let off at 5.55pm ...
own transport then you have to stay back lor brows.gif

about the shift... not really sure... 3 to 12 only 2 months once... in other depts... 3 - 12 is normal... during induction i heard there was also 7pm to 4am shift... notworthy.gif

whatever it is... you enter HSBC as a GSE (global support exec). It branches out to many other jobs, call center, security services, processing bla bla bla...... diff work diff conditions... no harm in trying right?

There was a bad jam just now read below, not for the faint hearted (the bus never got caught in a jam the previous 4 days i used the bus) unsure.gif

I wanted to get a job, and this sounded reasonable, needing English, Maths, Mandarin etc.

The only thing now is the time, I'm not too pleased about working through evening and early morning.

Securities Services, what's the shift time like?

Is it at all possible to ask them (HSBC staff/the boss) about working days only? I know night means more pay, but do I have a choice?
*
no la... cannot... for financial institution dealing with global user info like this.... you cannot choose your work time or days...

for security services shifts... i check for you then i get back to you k...

i want afternoon shift... cry.gif

I see... that's unfortunate. I mean I think it would be sensible if some people worked days, and some people worked nights, and if the people who worked nights were paid more, fair's fair.

It's destructive and unproductive for workers/employees to have a rotating shift that is as drastic as the one you've described, round 24 hours. Surely the employer should know this.

Should I just try it out? Nothing to lose if I resign right?

Will I suffer any losses or issues if I choose to quit?
*
resign proper way... you wont have chance with other msc company if you just go like that...

Just to let you all know (those who will be going for this weeks induction). You wont be getting your permanent lockers by next week. Especially those who are working on the 3rd floor. Meanwhile you can use the temporary lockers.
