ESim is digital SIM card, meaning it allows u to use dual sim on your phone without needed to have 2 physical sims.

It's not so much eSIM being special, rather than the latest iPhones are "dual SIM phones" but with only one SIM slot available in them.

This means that you can only put in one physical SIM card, while the other line you'll have to use via the eSIM technology.

Unless you get the iPhone XS Max Hong Kong version... or China (more expensive) and I think also Macau...

One time I was pretty pissed off with maxis and wanted to change telco. I called Celcom hotline and asked the person what are the packages and procedure to change telco and he wasn't able to tell me exactly what I need to do. And when I probed further, he sounded unsure. That interaction made me stick with maxis. At least when I complained to maxis 123, they can tell me what to do and that they understand me
