most USB-Power Delivery charger is USB-C, so the other end plug to iPhone will be lightning head

iOS 12.1 only can use eSim, now seems like maxis might be support eSim sooner than other telco in Malaysia

eSim doesnt require to put any sim card
just need to activate with telco, process wise could be scanning some qr code and info store inside iPhone eSim

you can leave the only physical sim slot empty for any other sim like going oversea can use that country sim card
