Hi there, newbie here.
Will be moving to Bangsar South condo next month, and planning to subscribe to TIME's 500mbps line. Our current place uses Unifi but under owner's name, so this will be a new subscription for us.

Few questions to ask.
1. Is Bangsar South covered by TIME?
Which building in specific ?
2. How do i go about getting a new line?
You may register via partners here.
3. How long does it take to setup and install?
5--7 working days (subject to port availability)
4. Does the package comes with the necessary hardware etc to ensure line speed is what we subscribed for?
It comes with ONU (aka Fiber Modem) + Router. Do note that this is best effort basis broadband type, and there is NO speed guarantee  or any SLA.

We have never used TIME before, so am curious to find out as much as possible. Unifi at our current place sucks, hence the thought of switching provider.
TIME should be another wise alternative for you to look into.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I'm thinking of switching from Maxis to Time since contract has expired. Time is available at my apartment. Currently house unit is connected to riser via copper cable.

Would Time charge for pulling fiber line from riser to house unit? it's about 70m to 90m long.
*
Hi,

No charge for Optical Fibre from riser to your door step (in your case), on top of this, another 20m FREE from your the point-of-entry at your doorstep to the location where we put our ONU (aka Fibre Modem).

If the optical fibre inside your house is more than then mentioned 20m, you will be charged at RM10/m.

Hearing from you if you need any further arrangement/technical advise.

Thanks.

Hi, try perform a bypass of your Router by directly connecting your PC to the ONU (aka fibre modem).

Text me if you need further technical assistance.

Thanks.

If time doesn't use VLAN tagging, i wonder if I can use Redmi AX5 router to replace the TP link router?
*
Hi, the VLAN tagging does not occur at Router level, so you can replace with AX5 router.

Thanks.

Sorry not sure what it means it doesnt happen at router level.
If you say TIME doesnt tag ethernet frame hence can use any router, then it makes sense.
*
For GPON VLAN it does not work that way and it's invisible to user.

For now, just proceed with any router options replacement.

Thanks.

hi in the past few months the ping will become high and things got slow so i have to restart modem+router few times a day. after restarting it will be ok for awhile.

what problem i am having and how can i solve it?
*
Hi, this intermittent issue will need your patience to check, as probably when TIME SI attends your case, at that particular moment everything was fine.

I suggest you to bypass the router and have your computer directly hook up to the ONU, and run a continuous ping.

Thanks.

anyone using edgerouter x? how to enable ipv6 in edgerouter? cant seems to find any guide on google as well.
*
Hi, try enable DHCPv6 prefix delegation, set the default length /64, you can also specify which interfaces to have IPV6 as well.
Also, under Config Tree (Configuration), look for your Interface that assigned PPPOE (usually eth0), click on Ethernet > eth0 > pppoe > 0 > ipv6 (enable it) & enable the autoconf address

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

EC230 TP-Link, lagging for all devices
*
Hi,
Have you been able to check on the speedtest result using LAN ?

If you are on 500Mbps, before doing testing, make sure you have background running services as minimum as possible, and off Internet Security/Antivirus, and don't run any Internet activity except the testing computer.

If you are still experiencing slowness issue, do lodge a report to CS, and SI will attend to your case asap.

Thanks.

hi, just changed my router and the problem is solved already however the speed feels much slower now, any solutions ?
*
Hi, always perform a cable connection and test the speed at various SpeedTest servers eg. TIME, TM, Maxis etc.

Thanks.

P/S : Didnt SI perform speedtest after they replaced the router ?

Hi all,
Been on TIME for 5+ years and it's been good so far till today.

All of a sudden internet went down, restarted modem and router and found modem LOS light blinking red.

Called CS and they said will arrange technician to check. That was in the morning. Called back in afternoon to follow up and they said appointment booked for 8th October.. what?? Suppose to be without broadband for 1 week?

Live in condo and no one has touched the fiber into my unit and modem in a cabinet which no one touches

Can I do anything?
*
HI ,

There should be some misunderstanding on the communication, normally this kind of issue will be attended within 24--36 hours.

Please try to call in again.

Thanks.

Tried calling back but everyone busy so they said will call me back.. let's see..

Can claim for discount since my line unusable for 24 hrs already?
Very unlikely, as this is broadband service, there is no SLA.

Despite some glitches do happen sometimes, it's still by far stand out among its competitors.

Hi, I'm a 500mbps plan user here.. Still on the TP-LINK AC1200 router, anyone faced issues or have solutions with the router keep on rebooting suddenly few times a day? Also with this router i can't get my promised 500mbps speed , only achieve 90+ mbps with cat5e lan cable connected to my desktop.
Also another problem is the huawei modem TEL1 light keep blinking and i cannot make any calls with the home phone.
*
Hi, to address your intermitent rebooting issue, just report & replacement will be made if the router found to be faulty.
During the replacement, please request the SI to perform a speed test via Cat5e/Cat6.

Do also report the Tel1 indicator keeps on blinking issue, if your handset is placed properly, this is usually the voice settings that isnt provisioned correctly.
After you reported, the settings can be remotely provisioned, not require SI to do anything.

Thanks.

Just applied Time 100Mbs from Times, its given EC230-G1 router
I found the coverage is quite weak, looking for extender

Got few question
1. Inside EC230-G1 website, its mention support easy mesh, but does this router support OneMesh?
YEs it does. You can purchase another unit from TIME.
2. looking for extender matching the router, currently focus on RE300 or RE305, anyhow having experience for it? RE300 support OneMesh as well.
RE650 tested works well.
3. Any better way to extend for better coverage/stability.
Perhaps you could look into Mesh solutions if you have tendency to have seemless roaming.

On Saturday Time came to install my fibre. Everything was ok, until Sunday morning and my Huawei modem LOS led start flashing red. I did not even have 24 hours of Time internet.

On Tuesday a Time technician came out to check and he says that my line is broken from my unit to the main box in the condo, but he cannot fix it and the installer must come back. (Why come to my unit if you cannot fix my issue)

So I phoned Time to ask, when can the installer come back and they said maybe before the end of the week, since the installer must get approval to install the cable.

I cancelled my TM Unifi to change to Time. I had TM Unifi for more than a year without any cable issue. According to Time the installer was suppose to pull in a new cable to my unit during the install, but he didn't. I think he used the existing Unifi cable.

So now it's Wednesday and I do not know what is happening with my Time internet. Starting to regret changing to Time.

If anybody from Time can assist I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Hi, sorry to know the issue that you have encountered.

When you mentioned they used Unifi Fiber, may I know is your building comes with fibre infra prelaid/prebuilt ?
You can take a look at the fibre cable, if it's from TIME, then it will have marking of TT Dotcom/TIME Dotcom on the cable jacket.

If your building is prelaid with fibre infra done by the developer, then according to SOP, there will be NO new cable needed.

Thanks.

Hi, wanna ask how can I setup Time's router to work with Google Nest Wi-Fi?
Can make it double as range extender/mesh and smart speaker?
*
Hi, if you are refering to the stock router EC230, then you can change the Operation Mode to Range Extender.

Thanks.
