Is there a big difference in 100mbps and 500mbps for online gaming?
*
Depends on other factors.. Number of connected users, devices, their usage patterns, simultaneous usage, game servers, etc. Can't just decide without factoring it all in. If just you with only one connected gaming device running during gameplay to a decent server (especially Asian-based)? 100Mbps is sufficient.

For downloading? It's a big difference in wait times between 100 & 500 Mbps..

Hi. Just installed the 500mbps package yesterday. Everything went well, can see the speed test on the installer guy's laptop the download rate was around 500mbps. Today I did the speedtest again on my pc and only got these results.

[attachmentid=10185034]

Is there any setting I have to do on my pc?
*
Looks like you connected using Wifi and with the supplied TP-Link C1200? If so, it's "normal". You might recall that the installer ran the test while connected to the router via a cable connection. Hence being able to max full speed. Want such on wifi? Need to connect via cable or get a better router. I had to drill holes and run cables directly to my main PC in a further room to max speeds.. This be my results using the Speedtest app on wired Windows 10 PC. Both Windows & Bit-defender antivirus and firewalls enabled.

Anyone else having sporadic issues connecting to Australian servers, specifically in the Melbourne area?

Been having connection problems every so often the past 3-4 days.
*
Perhaps you could give me sample urls to check on my end..?

Hi, you tested via Cable or Wi-Fi?

Is your Anti-Virus and Firewall disabled?

Thanks.

Image shows tests were over wifi..

I'm using cable to my pc. Yes, it's the default TP-Link C1200. After turning off the firewall settings (Windows 10 btw), here are the results.

Upload speed manage to get max, but download speed?  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Whoa... At least the uploads are okay.. Probably a test server issue or congestion at time of testing.. What server did it test with? I try from my end.

I tried various servers. All with near the same result. Tested most with Telekom/Digi/Axiata
*
Sorry man.. Can't help much.. I'm using the same C1200.. Infact using 2 C1200s. One as Primary and another as wired AP and even on the wired AP (15M CAT 6 cable), I can get almost 400Mbps easy during test. I suggest you factory reset the router and setup again.. Perhaps try a different FW? I'm using the beta FW on the AP and stock TIME FW on the primary. No issues.

giving fake old  price for time fibre package. asked him why his is more expensive and didn't reply
*
Nah fam.. It's not fake price.. Its something else.. Read the sentence properly and understand.. Tis hush hush la.. I'd delete the uploaded screenshot too. Yeap is 100% legit.. He personally handled my TM to TIME migration beautifully. I'm on the 500Mbps and it's RM139 per month as per TIME's set price for new subs.

Hi, what's the speed that you're getting?

Tried Google DNS? Or you can try Cloudfare DNS.

Thanks.
*
I don't think his issue is a matter of speed tests amount.. Kinda like when a phone excels in bench-marking apps cuz it's coded to do that.. but then sucks at daily usage.. hmm.gif

but i found out that if i disabled ipv6 everything would work normally. rclxub.gif

At least you found a fix.. I've left ipv6 enabled back on TM and now on TIME.. All's been okay despite others facing issues.. Unsure why.. but won't complain.. smile.gif

TIME lay the fibre cable to building electric space already. Two weeks have been passed. From what I heard around, they still waiting for government confirmation to drill at outside (?). Don't know how long the process takes in place...
If anyone foolow and experience this, please share with us here.

Perhaps I being impatient here, but at least TIME is here. I confirmed with building management, not TM, it gives me peace of mind.
*
Yup.. Just give it a couple more months and it should be up and running properly.

More couple months huh..? The wait is real...dammit

I'm seeing many Penang apartments have TIME availability update so quick, like 2-3 apartments with TIME per week.
Hope it done quickly by end of April... even better if around March...
*
What you don't see with such announcements are the months or years before such announcements can be made. I was among the initial folks to lobby TIME into my place. It took at least 2 years between then and it's availability. Not counting how long TIME may have actually been considering to expand here. So could be longer. Be glad, they are almost done.. biggrin.gif Besides, you want the job done right for stability and not rushed.

If currently using 100mbps plan.. Is it possible to upgrade the speed to 500mbps or 1GB speed? Or do we need to wait until existing contract expired? If it is possible to upgrade within contract what is the total fee involved and how long it takes to get the upgrade speeds desired? Thx
*
Last i checked (earlier this year).. Yes, you can upgrade to a higher plan immediately (within contract) with no additional fees/charges. Just the normal monthly amount as per the upgraded package. Which will reflect in next bill. If going from 100Mbps to 500Mbps, it shouldn't take long as TIME offers the same router (TP-Link C1200) for both.. if to 1Gbps, then possibly, they'll need to come set up the D-Link DIR-882.

I can't recall if the contract period refreshes or continues from the previous date..

Got 1Gbps last week. Seems like it hits only around 800Mbps max. They gave DLink DIR-882 router.

Currently on CAT6 30 meters. Maybe I should upgrade the cables to CAT6A.
*
CAT 6 is plenty enough bruh... Even if you upgrade to CAT7.. It ain't all about the cable.. hence the catch.."up to".. once they can achieve 80%+? tis good enough for most ISPs already.

Just want to share my experience.. Even back with TM, I kept using the C1200 despite all the complaints from others. It was steady for me, minus the expected poor coverage. Now on TIME and was given another. Daisy-chained both C1200s and whole place not gets full wifi coverage.. Was I lucky once? Okay.. Twice? Great! Lucky me then, no need to upgrade routers just yet. Using stock Build 20180502 rel.45702 on main router. So far, no abrupt network/service outage either.. Hope it remains that way. Knocks on wood.*

Today just installed TIME with 500mbps. Evening still okay with the speed.
At night slow like snail. Max only 30mbps only. What is going on?

**Rage mode on**

And when I change the DNS using Cloudflare one in the router, it doesn't connect at all. Even Google DNS seems hard to connect also
*
No such issue here.. Below is result from ipad connected from 2 rooms away to wired AP router.. Same plan

Thanks for the effort. However, this "feedback-ing" has been happening for too long. At least since last year I've been following this thread and the most reported problem appears to be the nightly slow speeds.

that default router provide by time fiber tplink c1200 is buggy and problematic to the max,.. best buy your own router that can dial pppoe will do the job, trust me u dont want to use the default one,..

example: very hard to save any changes in the 192.168.0.1, unless u try to click a few times of save button, mostly will stated failed to save,.. sometimes the router will auto reset to default original setting after 1 - 3 hour power off even, lost the pppoe id n pass tooo,..imagine u need to click a few time in order to save each detail coloumn in web, even in latest eu time firmware and always nothing time can do for you other than sent technician to your places to reflash the router firmware or just remotely reflash router firmware for you over the phone, and this router itself generate very high heat as well as the ac power adapter too, cpu always stated running at 100%,..  .. doh.gif  puke.gif  puke.gif  puke.gif

Sadly, same goes for the Unifi they wouldn't change it at all. But, most of the users just use it without noticing any problem as long as the Internet is working.
*
Been using mine for over 2 years now.. one unit? lucky.. 2 units from different ISPs batches and all okay? dunno what to say d... Condo full coverage till corridor and furthermost points in the house. But of course those with lemon units should change.

Hmmm. Do Time website stated that if we can to get full speed etc must buy own router ? Doesn't fair to us consumer right ? 🤔🤔🤔
*
I believe you still misunderstood despite the explanations.. ISPs advertise speed on "best case" basis. If you can get 80%+ of the promised speeds? It's considered okay already. For wired broadband ISPs, they only check for wired speeds and NOT over wireless. So as long as your wired speed matches the package deal? It's done. Have router connection or low wired speed problems? That's what the warranty is for. Want better wireless speeds? Get your own higher performance router. While it's "unfair", there's no scam or misrepresentation.. Read the TnCs and if you don't like? Terminate.

To me, all my important devices are connected via cable and get full speeds. With the C1200, I can live with the 2xx down/up speeds for wireless devices. Much better and cheaper than I got from previous Unifi 30Mbps plan.

For speeds alone? Nope.. Wasted.. But if you've got a problematic C1200 and or want more features/performance? Then yes.

Hi guys, anyone know what is Time's wifi router's username and password ?

The model we receive is : ZTE ZXHN H267A

thanks
*
That is the modem/BTU.. Not the Wi-Fi router. Typically you don't need to access that directly unless for configuration and specific testing purposes. And seeing as you thought it's the router? I don't think you should be dabbling with it.

Your Wi-Fi router, tplink or otherwise should have it's default login details either written on the bottom and or accompanying user manual.

*
That's okay.. Did a quick google search and even though this is for setting up Unifi.. You try the username as just "admin". Still uses the same 192.168.1.1 to login to the ZTE web config. The default username is “tmadmin”, where the password is “Adm@xxxx” where the xxxx is the last 4 digits of ZTE MAC ID.

Hi all.
I need some help on my TIME internet issue. I was away from malaysia for past 1 year plus. Before i go oversea, i am subscribed to TIME Internet. Now that i am back, how can i continue use the service ? Please guide me on this matter. i chat with some TIME agent and they told me to pay them around 1k to settle. But he is not sure if i can continue with the service after i made the payment. Can anyone help me on this. PM me also can smile.gif Thank you in advance and really appreciate if you can guide me.
*
Err.. Were you blacklisted? No need pay dunno who until 1k for dubious settling...WTF!.. If you were blacklisted? And still prefer to use your name.. Just contact TIME directly and work out a solution. Else, can always reg anew using trusted folks info and don't default this time around.
