Hey... How about checking out Blacktubi's Reviews.. Trusted opinion and who knows, you might want to spring for Wi-Fi 6 router instead.. Like the TP-Link Archer AX20... It's "affordable" and future-proof.QUOTE(Find The Way @ Oct 22 2020, 03:59 PM)
I'm living in rented apartment, and obtained permission to drill a hole before start of installation. However... TIME installer ended up drilling three holes. For first two holes, positions chosen by installer have metal in the wall so driller cannot get through. I haven't inform landlord about the extra holes, not sure what will happen to my deposit
I wonder is it common practice that wall drilling will be done on trial and error method? Is there a way to detect metal in wall?
My condolences... Hopefully, it'll be patched and concealed in such a manner as not to be an issue. I wonder is it common practice that wall drilling will be done on trial and error method? Is there a way to detect metal in wall?

@jjj2
I see. Thanks for sharing the info
Sounds like the drilling issue is an unavoidable risk if following service provider's practice.
Yeahjjj2 has pretty much answered your queries... Communication and some luck is key. Mine, the tiny hole in the doorway was done and sealed perfectly. The one between bedrooms? Not so much. But since it's behind a couch on one side and cabinetry on the other.. One can't tell it's there. So I'm happy.I see. Thanks for sharing the info

My router has been replaced to TP-EC230 by TIME after my previous TP AC1200 (due to unknown reason randomly reboot).
This TP-EC230 router signal is by far the worst signal coverage in my home. Previous routers like AC1200 and DIR-850L provided by TIME was okay. At least 2.4GHz and 5GHz can be used in master bedroom, but the new TP-EC230 constantly dropping signals.
Try a fw reflash and or placing it higher up... I remember having an issue with a TP-Link router once (model forgotten).. Poor network coverage until I raised it higher and boom..
