Hmm... I am not sure if I know I am in public IP or not.
Because I can't connect to the ddns I generate. If I use VPN, then I can connect to the ddns.
Without VPN, seems all the port is blocked. 80, 8080, 21, 22, etc. Not sure why.

I just call and tell them "Please switch to Public IP" that's all?
Do you know a way how to check if current is Public IP or not?

Below are the tutorial I found, I wonder if this is a good way to tell I am in Public IP or not.  cry.gif

Wifi6 router (Huawei HG8145X6) is okay for normal use, but he mentioned wifi5 mesh node which is > WA8021V5... u can search the previous post a lot ppl complain poor performance
*
Yes, the WA8021v5 is definitely a crappy device, with the customized software even worse.
The X6 is just good for normal under-performance use, don't expect it to be even on par with those models in the market.

Guys, if I renew for 24 months, I can get 1 free Wifi5 mesh node and 1 month free.

For the mesh node, will they charge any delivery / installation fee?
*
Hi, please login to your selfcare portal (selfcare.time.com.my) to check out the promo for recontract/upgrade.
No delivery or installation fee.

But bear in mind if you dont mind compromising the performance of these stocks devices, they are unmatched to those devices you buy outside.

Time vs UniFi - any reason to change to Time?

Have had UniFi for many years without issue, but TIME have now rolled out here too. Purely from a reliability perspective (have own equipment so don’t care about the router etc. provided)

Replying to old post but just got TIME installed today and also have the same issue

VPN works, mobile data works, but not on time
Tried Cloudflare and Quad9 DNS

Same error of
ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR

Also, gamerant.com and cbr.com don't load for me with the same error

Poking around, it seems like all those sites are hosted on Amazon AWS, so something related to that.
*
NO problem loading gamerant.com but cbr.com is kinda slow... probably it's routing issue...

Guys, The router tplink Archer C1200 provided by time is acting up. 😑

Router keep disconnecting/powering down every few days, need to reboost a few times if that happen.
This router is known for this problem.
Do I need to buy a new router or do time provide a new set? What do you recommend for a 500Mbps plan? 😊
*

Get yourself a new router by buying from network/computer shops.... dont' b fooled by recontract & eventually getting craps again.

Getting the 500Mbps installed tomorrow.

Any tips for a first time TIME user in terms of installation, testing etc?

From my understanding reading through the last few pages, it is advisable to get a third party router and mesh to replace the ones provided by TIME. Do I need to replace 2 or just the router is enough?
*
If you have two X6 ONTs, then turn the 1st unit to ONU (bridge mode) by calling CS or request during installation (though many installers don't even know how to do that).... get yourself a decent mesh routers.
Of course the 2nd unit of the X6, you won't be using that as well.
Do note that if you request the Installer to install your own equipment for you, they have the right to charge RM80/hour, with max cap at RM300/day.

Thanks.

hi anyone has the link to download standard firmware for TP LINK AC1200 EC230-G1 ? I have one unit of router from my ended contract TIME.

Cant seems to find a std firmware from tplink site.
*
This model has been flashed & altered with telco specific firmware, the retail model is A6.
My advice is get yourself a more decent WiFi6 router, saving yourself to go through the hassle on this crappy router.

Thanks.

How should I report the following issue..

So somewhere late last year I notice certain sites started giving http2 errors. I thought it was some temporary routing disruption and just used vpn to continue browsing...

Then came April and the issue is still going on so I decided to dig further...
I did the usual diagnostics (test on other devices, upgrade router firmware, changed router, etc..) and found out that it's only happening for some IPs, more specific certain gateways.

Since then whenever I reboot my router I have kept a spreadsheet log of my changed IPs, gateway address and the http2 working status.

user posted image

The main site I'm using to test the http2 error status is https://www.xda-developers.com

When it not working, using any browser on any devices will always show http2 loading page error.
*
Good findings...please send to cs@time.com.my & request them to check further.
We do notice plenty of sites having slow loading issues & some with videos & pics just wont load...

Thanks.

Looking for any solutions on fluctuating pings on online games. Have flushed DNS and restarted the PC/router/ONU.

My time fibre gives the Hg8145x6 mesh router, have 2 piece but I'm only using 1 piece, another piece I want to use for my other house as wifi repeater.

However when I go to the router settings wifi repeater, it just won't connect to any wifi AP even my own phone Hotspot.

Anyone have this issue and how to solve? Thank you
*
Hi, please do note that this X6 is not going to be working as mesh with your current other brand of router.
if you want to make it work as repeater, press & hold the WPS button on the side of the X6 for approx. 15s until you see all the lights lit up, release it & let it reboot, this will turn it into AP mode.

Login then as usual & select WiFi-Uplink to link to your existing router.

Still not advisable as this device performs poorly vs those mesh systems that you could get in the market.

if my installation has a high fibre reading , can that be fixed easily ? since it doesn't cause any connection issues does it matter also ? unsure.gif

It depends on the reading, if it's marginally high, you may experiencing downtime intermittently.

Thanks.

Noob question, instead of convert HG8145X6 into bridge mode in order to use other router, can we use fiber optic converter (e.g. TP-Link MC100CM) to convert fiber optic to other router?
*
You can directly use X6 as ONT (aka fiber modem + Router).
You can't just use TP-Link MC100CM as it doesn't perform any dialing & routing.

Hi all, I am using TIME Huawei HG8145X6 and WA8021V5

The Mesh AP is connected through LAN and I couldn't seems to be able to set up a proper Mesh WiFi.

In the HG8145X6 WiFi Coverage Page, it listed WA8021V5 with its serial no. but the status shows Not Synchronized. And at the WA8021V5, its status shows Wired Repeater. So, I am assuming that it is not setup as Mesh WiFi.

Anyone has any idea on this?

user posted image
*
Use your PC to login to your WA8021V5 via 192.168.101.1, select the mode to DHCP.
This will not be in full mesh, instead it will be in wired AP mode.

Thanks.

So im trying my luck to check here. I dont want any lan cable or fibre optic cable pulling out from my utility box...too ugly.

Hi, sorry it's utterly embarrassing if a principal could not even provide details & solutions for their own product.
The Huawei HN8245X6S-8N-30's dimension (on standing position) is as following :
Height : 24cm
Depth : 21cm
Width : 3.5cm

Thanks.

Hi guys, I need some advice. I'm going to renovate my house and thinking of getting contrator conceal the fibre optic cable into the wall.

1. Is any trunking works to conceal the cable into the wall?
You can use PVC conduit, just remember DO NOT share with other cables.
2. I search the fibre optic cable and found SC to SC fibre optic cable. Is this the right one that I've to purchase?
This is pre terminated drop cable, yes it can be used, but when your contractor pull the cable, he has to handle with extra care as don't damage the end connectors.
3. When contractor pull the fibre optic cable out from my wall, is there any casing like we used to have for Astro socket that available on the market that works for fibre optic connection so that it looks tidy when out from the wall?
Yes, it's called Fiber Wall Socket (FWS), you can get one from online. Your case you will need some space to keep the extra cable as normally this type of pre-terminated cable won't be 100% suit the length you want.
4. I'm looking for a reliable router that's able to give excellent coverage for 1100 sq ft apartment. Do you think one Asus Zenwifi AX XT8 is good enough for whole apartment coverage?
Depends on the location you put, if you have multiple RC walls, since you are renovating, get your contractors to lay network cables to each room & later you can utilise wired mesh.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks for sharing useful info. Just wondering whether can i buy longer length for the fibre optic cable and let the installer cut off the extra one if it's too long?
*
Yes you can, but you will need to make a new connector for that & that doesn't include in the Standard Installation. BTW, where is your house ? You can PM me.
