no free call and no ultimate just plain package

why many of you can enjoy cheaper price? I‘m paying RM179 for 50mbps with Ruby pack only...

I just downgraded mine.. 500 to 100. But that's because I want to subscribe all the hypptv channel, without increasing my monthly bills. Besides, it has free calls and I also save money from having a desire to upgrade my router 

One thing i learn in dealing with TM is that ,go for lowest package and wait for a call from their marketing. Its always early adopters of the top package that get screwed.
Look like now they are re-setting the base package to 100Mbps (like previously 30Mbps), those enjoys the most benefits are those starts with 30Mbps (Thank you upgrade to 50, RYE to 100 with ultimate and free call goodies - for selected one)

shifu here, i have roughly 15 tenants are staying 3 apartment units of mine, and I am staying unit 4, i have an unifi 50mbps which will be turbo-ed very soon.. so my question here, if im about to setup a wifi for them, what is the cheapest & best way to do so ? change my current modem to an expensive 1 ? or set up multiple wifi extender ?

P.S : i have a 24hours online pc, any way to setup a wifi for them & not slowing down my speed ?

You need a router with very good CPU and preferably an AP in every unit. Maybe you could get something like the TP-Link Archer C2300 with few APs.

Was helping my friend over the phone to help improve his unifi speed after he was turbo-ed to 500mbps
and he was getting only 100 mbps speedtest max on a dlink dir-850l so I suggested he buy a couple of cat6 cables which he did.

After replacing the cables he got even worse speeds like less than 10 mbps. Swapping in his old cables he got
about 100 mbps. After some troubleshooting including a teamviewer session or 2 i noticed that he was sometimes
getting 10mbps and 100mbps link speed between his PC and router.

So after much cajoling and wheedling plus a promise of free beer, I trekked over to his house to see what was up.
Turns out that he was running his brand new cat6 alongside the cable of his power strip so the electromagnetic
interference was causing his link to be inconsistently detected as 100 or even 10 mbps. Re-routing his
cables solved the low link speed (1Gbps) though it got us only 350-400 mbps which I took as a win.

So if you are inexplicably getting lower than expected link speeds between network devices and you
know your cables are good and both devices are correctly configured for 1Gbps you might want to
check if you cables are being run near and parallel(along side) to mains voltage power lines. If your network cable
has to cross a power line make sure it does it at as oblique an angle as possible preferably 90 degrees
to minimize interference. If circumstances require you to route your power and data lines along the same path
try to maintain at least 6" of separation.

I think running alongside low voltage signal cables should not be a huge problem in terms of
interference. Stay away from cables carrying 220v-240v mains voltage especially if they are
feeding electric motors, transformers, heaters, florescent lamps and power supplies.

If you want to be extra safe, buy shielded(S.T.P.) cat6 cables. The regular patch cables they sell
are the U.T.P. variety which stand for Unshielded Twisted Pair and are only insulated against
physical shorts. The pairs are twisted to mitigate cross-talk between the individual cores but
have to metal shielding to protect against external Electromagnetic Interference.

I just tried to flash the C1 firmware that can be downloaded from D-links website and luckily it will fail to upgrade firmware as the TM provided is C2 which is different.

So I guess those with C2 firmware just have to stick with having @unifi with their SSID

Hello. I'm a long time Unifi subscriber since 2015 and I need advice. I've been paying the full RM240 monthly bill for 30mbps and since they reduced their price for the same package (RM129), am I entitled for the new price? I've been paying the old billed amount for months since they reduced it.

Should I go to the counter and demand explanations? Should I lodge a report to MCMC? Should I just terminate current subscription and resub using the new price?

Please advise.

Note: I live in a high rise building so I'm not entitled for any upgrades since most high risers are exempted from those upgrades. So any advice/suggestion related to upgrades will be disregard.

Before I begin, at the end of the day every man for himself, dont call TM for advice on what is best for you, if you think what is ideal for you, go for it, walk the walk, take the path. Whether is it worth it[the resources: time, money etc incurred to get what u want]? Answers may differ from one another. From what Ive seen here in lowyat forum, anything is possible. Question is are you willing to do it only. Negotiation to obtain desirable deals may take up to months. Actually this applies for other things in life too.
