Guys, after using Wifi Analyzer to detect which channel better for my 2.4GHz & 5GHz, I change the router setting to the dedicated channel instead of putting it at AUTO.
Internet seems to be working fine, BUT when I try to update my apps through Play Store, it seems like not able to update at all from the 2.4GHz or 5GHz...
Anyone facing such issue before after changing the channel setting from AUTO to dedicated channel?
Router : TM TP Link C1200 V 1.0 Firmware : 1.0.0 Build 20180403 rel.22124 (EU) (Just recently updated from TP Link MY website after getting my turbo upgrade)

Did you restart your router after saving your settings? Did you mess with the bandwidth spread? If your devices are 5 GHz capable, I'd just connect them to the 5 GHz SSID and delete the 2.4 GHz SSID for those devices, lessens the interference overall.
2 AX router? I think it is overkill for me as I mostly use my internet for very light usage.
Am getting a new laptop soon, and will start to learn about torrent since now the speed so high~

I went to tm point to enquiry about changing plan, they gave me the following 2 options 1) terminate my current 30mbps package then get a new 100mbps package 2) convert my current package to 100mbps O For option 1, need a new port at my area. But it is not available. As such, they say better don’t terminate. For option 2, they say I need to buy my own router. Anyone here have the same situation li
Take option 2 instead, the stock router TM give you not really great.

Leave channel selection on auto.
I won't go into detail but having more devices in a same channel is much better than overlapping channels.
Tq for your reply...but pull LAN cable to 2nd and G floor is very ‘big’ project...I know if pull LAN cable can get the speed all my hse area but very ‘big’ project for me...beside on that,if I buy ASUS Lyra can solve this problem?at least my Ground floor can get 10-20Mpbs is enough for me...
Get cat6/7 if you really pulling the cable , future proof , who knows u need 10gbps next time (I never though I would need 1gbps initially) and you will be very happy everywhere in your house.
Lyra like all mesh, will somehow lose the speed as in order to link to the next hop , it wasn’t that cheap too.Their range will not be big as well, it’s just scalable , so if you need more you can buy more. (Dedicated 5ghz backbone by Lyra , but it also mean 5ghz short range for full speed )
The cheaper way ... get repeater OR go carousel , ppl is selling a lot of the “useless dir850L” , sometime even cheaper than repeater , but it will work as one. Set them as same SSID different channel. I used it as AP, work fine for me.
Or get a better main router , and set your existing router to AP / repeater mode (if it support)
5ghz will need to be a quite near the router , to get full speed , 2.4ghz will get you less than 100mbps most of the time (if you are on iPhone for example)
Ethernet cable , very stable , full speed , unless yours is 1gbps connection , it might lose some speed. Best for gaming 😂
I am on 2 storey house , A good Asus router can cover most of it (located on 2nd floor) with some dead spot. The AP for better reliability and more gigabit connection to ground floor.
I believe if you can get a good router on your second floor , it will be enough , unless all your room is very big too , then u might need the 3rd one,the important factor is the router need to be in the Center of the building

Is the speed test working ? It might be playstore problem as well , because having interference, might just get slow speed most of the time and 5ghz is quite a wide band , should have less overlapping
Hi, my plan is 30mbps, i receive email that my unifi has been turbo, but i check thru speedtest, my speed is 45mbps, any idea why?
What device are you on ? What router are you using ? Refer to first page to check on router model , btu
Also check the cable from btu to router is cat5a/6 Do a speed test with a laptop / pc with cable directly plug to your main router , that would been the most accurate .
Very disappointed to TM, made appointment for Unifi installation this morning, till afternoon not come yet, called to installer but told me salah nombor!

Hmm, I assume no need to restart since after I changed the channel, my devices will auto disconnect & reconnect from the wifi itself. I need to have both 2.4GHz & 5GHz store in my devices cause some of my area are kinda weak in 5GHz...
I'm sorry, but what do you mean by bandwidth spread? Is it channel width you are referring to?
Nevertheless, I will try again to set it to dedicated channel, and restart the router to see whether it works or not~

Hahaha, this is why I say I have to wait and see the price of AX router when it is launch in MY before making any decision. I watched this video too~

Ops, I remember someone here mention that it is better to set to the less congested channel in order to have less interference? Or did I get it wrongly? Actually I'm don't quite get the readying from Wifi Analyzer app. Under the Channel Rating reading, the rating for each channel seems to change from time to time.
I set my channel width for 2.4GHz : 20MHz and 5GHz : 80Mhz as recommended by forumer here...

Speedtest is working, and other internet services too.
I also have the thought that maybe is Play Store having issue, so I turn it to my mobile network, and it is running without any problem. Only this morning I remember I mess with the router channel setting last night...

Did you check with your online unifi dashboard? If the package is changed to 300MB, then try to refer to the GREEN TEXT on 1st page of this thread, you might get your answer there...
I think that is a request for reduction based on unfair pricing. I don't think there is a new contract with it, can't remember if others said so previously. So maybe cannot request for new equipment. If they renew contract, then maybe you can try to ask. Not sure whether you're in contract or not makes a difference. Please update here on what happens.
Just changed at TM Point. Can't get new equipment but do get 1 year extra warranty (not written anywhere or black and white). 2 years contract and can't cancel the hyppTV even after 1 year.. total 119+SST for 30mbps.

In bold, some devices prefer you leave the channel width on auto. Using the WiFi analyser you should be able to see the neighbouring WiFi radios are on which channels, set your WiFi channel to one where there is no other WiFi signal. It's like going to McDonald's, you always go the cashier with the shortest Q or no Q.
You can use also use the WIFI analyser to check if relocating the wireless router to a new location would improve reception in your known 5 GHz deadspots?
Just get your own router. Honestly, their stock router is crap. Get your own. I suggest the TP-Link Archer C7 b5 or Tenda AC18.
Thanks for the suggestion. Will look into these 2 routers.
Take option2, their router isn't that good to begin with.
Lousy router huh. They some more say I need to pay for it. Crap!

So if I set my channel to those channels that are less using, I should be able to get better wifi connection/coverage?
For the relocating part, I'm not sure how it works? There is a features where I use the app to detect the wifi signal, it has the beeping sound if the signal is strong, is this the feature to test the ideal wifi router location?
Guys, I am planning to terminate my unifi account by end of this month. Just want to ask, the modem, cordless phone and the hpptv modem need to refund to tm or I can keep it ? Already subscribed for 2 1/2 year. Package 30mbps (now upgraded to 500 Mbps).
