Hi, My Unifi 5Ghz channel Wifi speed out of a sudden is lower than my 2.5Ghz channel which is weird.I'm using the Tenda AC18. The speed on the 2.5Ghz channel does fluctuate though and noticed some disconnections as well.. Ex: 1st speed test shows 100Mbps while 2nd speed test shows 50Mbps then 3rd speed test also about 40++Mbps. Initially i used to get about 200Mbps using the 5Ghz channel and about 100Mbps using the 2.5Ghz channel on my mobile. bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 17 2019, 10:20 AM) Neighbors along my row no new but maybe in my Taman area. I hv tried to use different channels for 2.5Ghz & 5Ghz band however still the same. Used the Unifi Wifi optimiser keeps saying Poor and ask me to switch between channel 40 and 36 for 5Ghz band.Any good apk to determine the best channel to be used or recommendation on best channels to be used to 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz? Believe initially I just left channels as "AUTO" with no issues. Thanks in advance.. |

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Apr 24 2019, 09:30 PM) Yes, but your device needs to support it as well. You need at least a 4x4 MIMO device. Mobile phones and normal laptops NIC won't be able to do that. Perfect bro...i believe S8 should be able to support the MU-MIMO since there is a mix and match update. some web saying s8 able to support 4x4 MU-MIMO and some 2x2.. |

Dear Shifu!
Wondering if anyone has concrete answer on what's the maximum speed while we perform 2.4ghz test? Am using unifi 500mbps with Asus AC66U. The speed that I tested is around 70+ Mbps which I think it's weird. (About 3 feet from router). Huawei P20 - considered top notch model yes? (Give up 5ghz as my house has concrete walls that is hard to penetrate through). Am considering whether it's my router problem or should I change to AC86U... |

QUOTE(name11 @ Apr 29 2019, 11:45 AM) Dear Shifu! Hi, getting 70Mbps via 2.4Ghz consider a good speed, nothing weird about this. No matter how, you need to go for 5Ghz if you want better speed. RT-AC66U consider good enough for 500Mbps bandwidth, no point to change. Try add on a mesh wifi will be better, the penetration and coverage will be much better.Wondering if anyone has concrete answer on what's the maximum speed while we perform 2.4ghz test? I do not know how people count here, but your speed also relies on receiving device. For example lot of smartphone connecting on like 2.4HZ max, and max I see was real speed of 75Mbps and that's it, nothing more than that really. Be sure to keep it checked.
