Hey guys I've been using ZTE router model ZXHN H267A since 2017 with Deco M4 mesh router, I'm thinking to upgrade my main router, 2 questions

1. Is that possible if I want to make my mesh router as main router (get rid the ZTE router)

2. Can recommend decent router with mesh capabilities for 500 mbps user (currently on 300 mbps, but hoping menteri will expedite the MSAP announcement) I'm eyeing on latest model from TM (it's tp link but I forgot the model)

I apologize if I post on the wrong thread.

Yes, you can and you should connect the Deco M4 directly to the modem for better performance.

Just switch the Deco M4 to PPPoE mode with your Unifi credentials and enable the IPTV/VLAN profile for Unifi.

If you are looking for an upgrade, the ASUS TUF-AX4200 will be a great option with future option of getting another unit and using it as the wireless mesh node. That will replace the Deco M4 entirely.

Hi Sifus, I am currently subscribed to Time fibre 500-mbps package and am using the originally installed sets:
Modem: Huawei HG8240H
Router:  DLink DIR 850L
Aged: 5 1/2 years (approx.)

Please kindly advice what and how best to upgrade my hardware since they are aged above recommended usage. Thank you.

Hard to recommend without a budget provided.

However, for 500Mbps, I will recommend at least the ASUS TUF-AX4200 or the TP-Link AX5400.

Thanks for the suggestion.

For changing pppoe mode, how I can do so?

For Asus tuf, I'll be need another unit to make it mesh correct?

You can do it on the Deco app after you received your PPPoE username and password from TM

Yup you’ll need 2 units of ASUS routers to form a mesh WiFi network

Anyone here know whether we can use the Dlink AX3000 mesh router from unifi with digi fibre? Because my house is already using deco x95 and I am planning to use the mesh router given by unifi at another place because there digi fibre only gave normal WiFi 6 router, not mesh, so reception not good on upper floor.

Anyone familiar with the signal strength of the Asus AX56U?

Not sure if the antenna count has practical effect on performance.

Considering this model or the others such as Asus AX1800U or Asus AX55.

hye guys. want to ask what's the best set up for my home. will be moving house next month.

House type: double story semi d
Size of house: roughly 1200 sqft
Features required: nothing fancy. just want a strong connection all around the house.
Number of devices connected to WiFi: 4/5/6 devices.
Internet Speed: 100mbps unifi. actually i want to wait for fahmi's broadband annoucement for new internet plans. finished 2 years contract.
Budget: the more budget friendly, the better.

now i'm using tp link ax1800 archer ax20. read around and many post recommended using mesh for double storey house. tq in advance.

Hi, everyone, just checking though, does anyone having issue to access the unifi fiberhome SR1041Y router (maybe after firmware update)? I just had issue to login my router with the usual superadmin account (the password is fiberadmin that one).

my router is in office and has public IP hence there are some port forwarding for business operation purposes such as VPN. but i just noticed i unable to connect my vpn server hence I remote a pc at office to access the router only to notice the login page seems to be changed which seems like there is a firmware update.
So, does anyone here received any tips of the recent changes of default superadmin account login?

If you are on a budget, just add on the OneMesh extender which is more than enough for 100Mbps plan for now.

RE605X is a good model.

Update, the router firmware definitely got a new firmware update, the superadmin account is not available anymore(or maybe had a password changed), now must use the tmadmin account with the password provided on the label under the router (its "Adm@[last 4 alphanumeric of MAC]). New firmware also will compromise with your port forwarding if your firewall is set to high or medium and if your ddos protection is enabled.
