QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 13 2007, 03:31 PM) Erm.. i kind of agree with you. But i would break up his sentence into 2 parts. First is the front where he said that he is where he is at now. The place he is in now is what he have expected. I wont defy what he said was true because i couldnt read his mind, whether he have already expected that he will perform badly in Montreal. He never said it was about the race. He said that in concerning that he is second in the championshipBut i am just wondering, would a person expect that he would end up 7th after qualifying for a 2nd place? After having a good start in F1? Would he have even predicted that he would end up tailing 8 championship points behind? It was his mistake that he lawn mow that area, his aggressiveness, and now he is saying this is expected. If i were to say, it might just be a lie. Edited: Maybe i think too much, and sad my english aint that good, so if you will excuse me |

either. you have to choose the tyre of ur choise before qualifying. and after that you cannot change it. Remember in 2003 when Schumacher was slow at the Hungarian GP? he chose the wrong tyre

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Jun 14 2007, 12:44 PM) Good link for open discussion. What nationality is Watson again? Oh, right, British. Look back at this issue and see how many non Brit former racer or pundit talk about it? none. http://www.bbc.co.uk Watson: `Favouritism claims are bollocks` http://www.planet-f1.com Grow up? Ouch! The brits have serious issue with their own countrymen. Look at how they howl at Monaco issue. yes, and the fact that both Massa and Kimi did the same thing and cannot match the pace of the Macca was also stated.

Is it just me, or does Fernando's first front row start at Indy coincides with the way he changes his driving style this year? I mean last season he was understeering his renault at all the track, that Martin Brundle voted him as the current driver with the worst driving style, but this season he seemed more content on letting the car slide first before entering a corner, a technique which DC used at McLaren before he switched to Red Bull.

I dont think so really. Considering that he never finished the USGP before this, 2nd in the championship is a good result for Fernando. And why do I feel this animosty towards Fernando as a sign of frustration towards Ferrari not winning. Considering that Ferrari wants to get Fernando to replace either Kimi or Massa ASAP (go read Gazzetto de la Sport) means that he's still one of the most bankable and reliable driver still out there.
the lol moment for me was Martin Brundle doing joke and James don't understood it. And James crappy "Sebastian Vettel, THE 19 YEAR OLD" is annoying. You don't have to mention that he's 19 everytime he's on the screen. We are not stupid you know This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jun 18 2007, 09:33 AM |

actually, teammate vs teammate is more exiting, Senna vs Prost anyone? But I do honestly believe that Ferrari will be faster in France. They always had a good result there. Let us see how much can they gain during the testing next week.

Kimi needs a realiable car, and then he can become a champ. either that or he needs to change the way he drive and be more gentle to the car and it's engine. Either way he has the speed, not the consistency, and that's what Massa have.
But the F1-2007 B-spec is really shitty. Look at how Kimi and Massa had to wrestle the steering compared to the smooth nature of Lewis and Fernando. The most ironic thing about that Grand Prix was that because Lewis hasn't raced there before, Fernando gave him his setup which Lewis used. Wonder if he would do the same thing in Japan, brazil or China after this....
Added on June 19, 2007, 9:43 amMutual respect reigns at McLaren QUOTE Lewis Hamilton believes that his relationship with Fernando Alonso is becoming "closer and closer" as F1 braces itself for a team-mate rivalry as intense as the legendary battles between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. For the first time since Hamilton's debut in March, the two McLarens fought side-by-side in Indianapolis with the young Briton refusing to buckle as the double World Champion edged alongside him. Alonso is a notoriously sore loser, yet the Spaniard was graceful in defeat in America, just as Hamilton was magnanimous. For now at least, mutual respect and conviviality, rather than the bitterness that characterised the battles between Prost and Senna, reigns in the McLaren garage. "Fernando is extremely fair, especially at the start of the race and done a fantastic job, so well done to him," said Hamilton. "As you can see, we're extremely close. But we're very, very close on the track and I think we are getting closer and closer off track, you know. And our respect for each other I think is growing and it's great. We're really happy for the team. But once again, I'm just proud and honored to be sitting next to him as I've always looked up to him for the last few years." Alonso caused a considerable stir last week when he announced that he had not felt "comfortable" at McLaren since joining the team after securing his second title with Renault in October. The Spaniard's post-race comments at Indianapolis were circumspect in comparison, yet while he agreed with his team-mate that they had been "extremely close", he refused to acknowledge any shortcoming. "I really think I was a little bit quicker in the race because when you follow a car in one second distance, something like that, means that you are a bit quicker because to follow that close is not easy," he said. Nor, despite trailing Hamilton by ten points, was Alonso prepared to accept diminished status. "I think it has been a surprise for me, and a surprise for everybody, to see him doing so well and leading the Championship at this point. But, you know, I have big confidence," he assured reporters. "We have only done seven races, ten to go. So I'm very happy with my 48 points and the championship will be decided at the end. Again, I have confidence that I can do it." For the time being at least, the pair share data and telemetry, and hold their debriefings at the same table inside the McLaren citadel. But if, as the season progresses, the two McLaren drivers remain locked in a fight for the World Championship, the cordiality between them will be put to the most severe test. Rumours abounded in America that Alonso had revealed his 'discomfort' at McLaren in order to gain a greater say in strategy. Pointedly, when asked to comment on the team's tactics for qualifying, Alonso invited his interrogator to question his team boss instead. Hamilton's emergence has been the stuff of fairytales, but Alonso will have no compunction in assuming the role of the Bad Guy if it produces a third successive title. We will wait untill france. BMW should be closer to the Ferraris at the track. The relationship between teammates are also under close control. Unlike the Ferrari drivers Massa and Kimi, the McLaren duo do share telemetry data and does debriefing together, which might indicate why they are so close to each other (performance wise) during sundays compared to the Ferraris.
And I do think Kimi, Fernando and Lewis has not shown their full potential yet. Why? consider that Lewis is still a rookie and there is still much he should learn. Kimi and Fernando are still strugling to cope with cars and tyres that does not suit them (too much in Fernando's case that he was forced to change the way he drive). I wonder what will happen in 2 years time when all three have fully acclimitised with the cars and surrounding. Nobody can get near them IMO. Massa? well he has the knowledge of teh car already but if he wants to win, i think this is the season to do it when Kimi is still not fully comfortable with his Ferrari |

Race of Champ will usually won by rally drivers as they can adapt much easier to the cars.
Added on June 21, 2007, 3:03 pmReports: Kimi set for Ferrari exit QUOTE Kimi Raikkonen could be on his way out of Ferrari as soon as the end of this season, according to reports. Germany's Auto-Bild-Motorsport said the beleaguered Maranello team are already on the lookout for the Finn's successor, after his poor start to the season and failure to live up to his billing as the highest earning F1 racer following his switch from McLaren for 2007. Not only is the 27-year-old struggling to keep up with Felipe Massa in the other F2007, but there are also concerns about his supposed rookie errors and lack of focus. Part of the Auto-Bild-Motorsport rumour is that newly retired Michael Schumacher will make his return to F1 in place of Raikkonen, but McLaren's unsettled Fernando Alonso or Williams' highly-rated Nico Rosberg are also rumoured to be in the running to replace the Finn. I feel pretty annoyed with the F1 rumours right now. First it was Fernando and Lewis and now this? Looking back, you can see how this happen. Bild is one of the most staunchest of Schummi's supporter, and ran this story to get either Ferrari/Kimi/Schummi agitated enough. Then another reporter takes up this story and ADD the Fernando/Nico rumours at the bottom. I say f*** them. Kimi won't leave IMO. Macca will surely try to keep Fernando, and no other team can afford him now that his wage is that high. The most likeliest is the money pit Toyota, but with a shitty car, he won't want to join them just yet This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jun 21 2007, 03:03 PM |

Sorry for you mate that ape had won twice already and both him and Lewis can break Schumacher's record. If you're really an F1 fan, just let go. He has retired, finished, kaput. And from what we see this season we don't need him to have a good season.
