QUOTE(viNcee @ Jun 10 2007, 02:19 AM) was it just me or did i hear the commentator on astro, steve slater say back at the first race of the season, the australian gp at adelaide... ADELAIDE??!! WTF??!! Nobody is watching Astro when RTM is live. Serves you right for watching them XDanyways - Fernando lost 3 tenth for going wide at the hairpin, we never saw that, but during the press conference he said that he slowed after that because he knew he had no chance of pole. - Ferrari needs to have a good strategy or not Heidfeld will help the McLaren run away into the distance. I do feel they are a bit heavy and were caught up by the BMW's strong run - I have strong respect for Button. Unlike a certain Schumacher at the Toyota, he does not lie to himself during Looise's interview. Looise: It was give and take wasn't it? Button: No, I was too slow. Rare to see that in an F1 driver these days |

I do feel Fernando has the more pace in the long run than Lewis tonight. The fact that he was setting purple times at his last run also reflects this. I wonder if he will play it safe and just shadow Lewis up to the stop and then just put the hammer down. I do hope that Nick can keep that third place. That should give the Ferraris something to think about at the USGP

Do you think they will use Vettel for USA? I think they might use Glock as he has more race experience.
Anyways, I do believe Fernando knew he cannot do anything against Sato, and just give him. Rather then losing all teh points, he did the smart thing and settle for 2. Horrific crash for Kubica BTW. Lucky he did not slam into the Torro Rosso parked there, or he will launched into the other side of the track. The track needs to be better IMO for next seasons. Heidfeld has strongly critisized the lack of grip and the way that the hairpin will always be damaged year after year. Driver of teh day for me? Suprisingly it's not Lewis, but Wurz. He drove on the slow tyres for half of the race, and had part of his rear wing missing. And he was closing down on Heidfeld rapidly too after the last safety car. |

The US GP will have jump in the number of spectators. Why? Crashes sell. The most watched GP in history was the Catalan GP after the crash and death of Aryton Senna

QUOTE(karhoe @ Jun 11 2007, 09:38 PM) Aiyar, after Sato overtook schumi, he had around 3-4 seconds to catch Alonso, and he managed to catch Alonso in 1 ++ lap, so the tyre could have contributed 1-2 seconds a lap the most, but yet Sato manage to overtake, I call it skill, or rather, Alonso sux Sato was on the harder tyre and has more grip. He was catching Kimi after passing Fernando at a rate of 3 seconds per lap after that. And Fernando don't want to risk an accident with an ill behaving carHe overtook Alonso with 2 laps remaining, and when he cross the line, he had around 5 seconds from Alonso, you can't say Alonso is playing safe or whatever, because schumi is just 1 second behind him. Besides, he is overtaken by Super Aguri, what else can you say? Added on June 11, 2007, 10:29 pmInterestingly, on the same set of tyres with Kimi, SATO WAS PULLING AWAY FROM TEH FERRARI AT A RATE OF 0.3 seconds PER LAP BEFORE HIS BOTCHED PIT STOP. He was fast, end of story. Do you think just because he's driving a Super Aguri, he's slow? that car won a race last season mind you, and is still one of the fastest car on the grid, if not for the crappy Honda engine this season This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jun 11 2007, 10:29 PM |

The Ferrari are screwed, not only they are half a second slower then the McLaren, the BMW is also faster. USA is going to be tough for them. Nick might even spoil the McLaren's party this monday IMO

QUOTE(Hornet @ Jun 12 2007, 12:02 AM) A mistake made is still a mistake, whether you're a rookie or a 10x world champion. Hmm, reminds me of Schumacher during his younger days. He always makes mistakes, but was fast enough to win the championship with Benneton. He was even still rough around the edges during his initial years at Ferrari, losing the championship to Damon, Jaques and Mika because of some stupid errors. But ppl never remember him for that, they still remember him as a 7 time world champion. But hey, like you said, mistakes are mistake.Alonso certainly wasn't in his best form yesterday. Look at how many time he miss chicane 1. He was full of mistake yesterday. Towards the end, he seems to play a little too safe. Well, its his rights to do whatever he wants and play as safe as he wants too. But you won't have anyone else to blame but alonso himself when Hamilton takes the championship title away from him Past 2 years, alonso has been going against drivers who are driving a car that either doesn't have enough downforce or blows up engines and gearbox from time to time. This year, he's up against his own team mate with the same tool that he has. His playing safe ways may not work this time around. BTW Massa and Fisi is horrible. worst mistake ever made. |

QUOTE(BurgaFlippinMan @ Jun 12 2007, 05:42 AM) Actually he was banned at the Belgian GP in 1996 because he disobeyed the Stewards at the British GP. Thus giving Damon the chance to close the gap. For Massa, it might have been his fault, but there are some more incident that the Stewards left out - Taku going in the pit when it was closed - Kimi jumping Liuzzi/Trulli jumping Kubica in outside teh pit because both cars stopped at the red light |

QUOTE(BuFung @ Jun 12 2007, 11:47 AM) I dont understand why Apelonso still have this kind of thinking.. and still keep saying this kind of thing... this doesn't help him @ all... More him acknowledging that Lewis is his main rival rather than the two Ferraris this season. http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/new...611165432.shtml QUOTE(amanda85) but massa oso did not complaint anything....ferrari juz accept d fact What's more to complain. The Ferrari was not at fault. It's the driver's responsibility to see the red light. Nothing the team can do as they don't know themselves wether the pit lane exit (not entry mind you) was open or closed. Taken from F1 rulebook - The pit lane exit will be closed when the Safety Car is near or approaching the pit lane - The pitlane entry will be open during that time - Cars that are following the safety car can pit at that time - Cars already in the pit will have to wait until the pit lane exit is reopened again |

That was the circuit's clerk de course car. As Honda is the engine supplier for the CART series in the US, they use Honda in all the circuit. The safety car and the medical car are still Mercedes-Benz

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 13 2007, 10:01 AM) Awww Alonso starts to complain again... at his team again... The truth. For one he acknowledge that his teammate is doing a good job for a rookie, and usually the team will try to help a rookie more. What's with his statement, what exactly is he trying to say?! For the brit media, nothing more to say. Screaming murder when he won at Monaco, not mentioning him when he won at Malaysia. while the spanish gives both drivers the same kind of treatment But for all I care this is going to be a really great season. On one hand, a 2 time world champ driving a car that does not suit his driving style and tyres that he's not used to, but still manage to go fast. and on another a rookie that is going beyond expectation, and might even win the championship on his first try. If Ferrari still shooting their foot, both will sweep the floor of the opposition |

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 13 2007, 03:02 PM) Dont quite understand what Alonso said by this, anybody wanna interpret? Read the whole statement for that to make sense. The majority of humans will usually never delve deep into what they read, which is why they have a hard time understanding what really is meant. That's also why the rate of pass for BM and BI in SPM are still not 100% in Malaysia.Alonso: I miss Fisi so much... Back to topic, what he said was, this is still early in the season. And to be second in points behind his own teammate with many races to go will be benifiting to him as he still has time to learn about teh car and the tyres more. Thus he is confident by the time F1 is in Brazil, he will won the world championship. |

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 13 2007, 03:09 PM) Maybe next time, Alonso should apply some common sense when doing interview or just avoid doing any, like Lewis Dennis won't let Lewis be interviewed ECSPECIALLY by the British Press. He feels they are manipulative bastards (not his own word, but he implied it). Lewis is usually interviewed by F1 insiders like F1 racing journalist and such |
