FERRARI TAKES STEPNEY TO COURT
QUOTE
Ferrari have reportedly started legal proceedings against performance development chief Nigel Stepney for undisclosed reasons.
Stepney, who joined Ferrari in 1992 and played an instrumental role in their rise to the top of F1, revealed at the start of the season that he was unhappy with the team's management structure.
He even went as far as to say he is open to offers from other teams once his Ferrari contract expires at the end of this season.
Stepney subsequently changed roles within the team and was put in charge of the team's performance development.
However, the relationship between the two parties appears to have taken a turn for the worse, with Ferrari revealing that they have started court actions against Stepney.
The team, though, refused to say why.
"Nigel Stepney is still an employee but we have brought an action against him," a Ferrari spokesman told Reuters.
"It is not related to any event, it is related to his behaviour."
The legal proceedings will take place in Modena, Italy.

WTF??? For a man taht broke his leg trying to help Schumacher wins, this is what he gets?

McLaren's Boss Ready to Splash Money
QUOTE
Ron Dennis, the boss of McLaren said he's willing to pay the high cost of salary money to both of his drivers if Lewis Hamilton manage to win the World Championship this season
"If he wants a raise, he will certainly get one" said Dennis. "I have no qualms of paying a driver what he is worth of. And before the start of the season we had already promised our partners that we will have the strongest line up of the grid, and we are showing just that"
Dennis also quashed rumours that Double World Champion Fernando Alonso will be let go if Lewis Hamilton win for fear of too much payment. "Last season we are ready to field Kimi (Raikkonen) and Fernando for this year. Thus their salary was well thought of beforehand"
Meanwhile the Mclaren's boss were still tightlipped on their chance at the smooth Magny-Cours circuit next weekend. "Sure, we have the edge now. But don't discount the Ferraris and the BMW-Saubers."

Only a moron would believe it was the real thing.

Go read Shumacher's diary. It was hillarious. They usually will do this to the world champion to show their "dark side". But sometimes I do feel they were out of line.

I love how Schumacher's fan still cannot let go. He's gone, forget about him. It's now the era of Massa, Fernando, Lewis, Kimi, Nick, Robert Adrian and Nico. Learn to accept that or GTFO
Massa: `Schumi`s not returning`
QUOTE
Felipe Massa has dismissed talk of Michael Schumacher returning to race in Formula One.

Ferrari's recent downward spiral led to speculation after the United States GP that Schumacher, who retired from F1 at the end of last year, would be making a comeback.

However, the German's management team were quick to deny the reports and have now been backed up Massa, who also says it's not going to happen.

"No, I'm certain that he won't come back to drive," the Ferrari driver told the Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

"I know Michael well. He's not someone who makes U-turns."

Schumacher, though, still remains a part of the Ferrari team having signed on in an advisory role for this season.

The seven-time World Champion has been present at a few races already, helping Ferrari - and Massa - from the pit wall.

"The fact that I am always still in contact with him means that I can't say I'm missing him," Massa added.

"I speak with him all the time; we are working together."

Stepney hits back against allegations
QUOTE
Ferrari's head of performance development Nigel Stepney claims he is at the heart of "a dirty tricks campaign."

A criminal investigation has been launched against Stepney after the Maranello team filed a formal complaint against him earlier this week.

The Modena district attorney is currently looking into the claims of Ferrari, although the team have refused to reveal the nature of their complaint.

Stepney, though, insists he has done nothing wrong as he said: "I have confidence I'll be cleared by the legal process that is now taking place."

Speaking to The Sunday Times, he added: "It is just part of a dirty tricks campaign and everything is in the hands of my lawyer, so we'll wait and see what happens."

Stepney, who is currently on holiday in the Philippines with his family, is puzzled as to claims by Ferrari and the Italian police that they have been unable to contact him.

Stepney said: "I'm on a planned holiday with Ash (his fiancee) and our baby.

"Why would anyone say I am not contactable? I booked the flights through the Ferrari travel office. They know where I am."

Despite the ongoing investigation, Stepney remains an employee of Ferrari, although has made no secret of the fact he is looking to leave the team.

The Briton joined the Scuderia from Benetton in 1992 as chief mechanic, and rose to the position of race and test technical manager during Ferrari's period of world championship domination between 2000 and 2004.

Stepney then moved to a factory-based role earlier this year after voicing his dissatisfaction over the direction of the team in the wake of Michael Schumacher's retirement and Ross Brawn's decision to stand down as technical director.

Maiden win for marvellous Montoya.
Colombian sensation breaks Nextel Cup record by coming from 32nd to 1st at the Infineon Raceway.
QUOTE
uan Montoya scored his debut Nextel Cup Series victory in his 17th start in NASCAR's top tier and made history in Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at the Infineon Raceway by coming from 32nd on the grid to win on the winding California road course.

Not only did the Colombian driver become the first non-American to win a Cup race for more than 30 years he also broke the modern era road-course record for translating the lowest grid position into victory.

After qualifying 32nd for the 110-lap race around the eleven turn 1.99-mile Infineon circuit Montoya moved steadily towards the front of the pack and engaged in some no-holds barred action with the likes of Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Tony Stewart before making the critical, and race winning decision to pit for the final time on lap 67.

"Button = Beckham" says Richards
QUOTE
Jenson Button is the David Beckham of Formula One, according to his former team boss Dave Richards.

This year's Championship has seen Button pushed off his pedestal of Britain's leading F1 driver by the emergence of Lewis Hamilton.

While Hamilton has claimed seven podium finishes, including two victories, Button has yet to score a single point despite entering this season with a great deal of promise following his break-through victory in Hungary last year.

However, Richards, who knows Button well from his time as BAR (now Honda) team boss, believes the 27-year-old can bounce back in much the same way that Beckham resurrected his football career at Real Madrid.

"Jenson has extraordinary talent and this sport is often about people in the right place at the right time," he told The Mirror.

"I'm convinced Jenson still has a big opportunity in front of him. If the right circumstances happen and he has the right people around him he could still be successful."

Comparing Button to Hamilton, Richards said: "Jenson has the David Beckham thing while Lewis brings the fresh new approach."

The former team boss, who is set to make his return to the F1 paddock next year as the man in charge of the new Prodrive team, reckons there will come a time when Button is in a position to challenge for the World title.

"Jenson's got extraordinary talent... he just needs the right things to happen for him at the right time," he added.

Look at the car he drove. Albers drove the Spyker to it's limit, but Sutil still manage to get one second more out of it. And one second is HUGE for a car like Spyker. Sure he might seem rough, but IMO, it's more because he has to drive the car to the max than his driving

Well there are other important news that you can post. One of those concerning Kimi that YOU DID NOT POST while you should have showed that you rather want ppl to think bad about another driver when your favourite driver is underperforming and underpressure from Ferrari and is in a bad relationship with the team at the moment that nothing other than winning the WDC this season can keep him at the team for next season which means he might be releagated to Toyota in place of Ralph as that is the only other team that can afford his payroll at the moment

anyways, First Practice time,

Actually, some are not fanatics, they just know what they are talking about. And i do find www.crash.net a better site for infos. The fact that the media has lost it's darling (schumacher) and wants another one in the form of Lewis has not bode well with Ron Dennis, and this in turn lead to the press making up stories of bad blood between him and his teammate in response because as the man who beaten Schumacher fair and square last season, some of the Schumacher fans among the press hates him. That's a fact. and some of you are blind enough to go with the flow when the press should have covered other issues such as Ralphies performance, and I also find the lack of coverage of Trulli's brilliant performance at the US gp by the press very unsportsmanlike.

How in the world did Scott Speed end up at 3rd fastest in Practice 2 doh.gif

Other teams are sandbagging? Heck, Sutil set the fastest time during the third practice of Monaco GP and he still ends up nearly last during qualifying.
Also, wet race is on the cards, which means many teams are testing wet weather setup

My random guess for quali today
Pole Massa. 3rd to fourth will be close between Kimi, Fernando and Lewis. BMW will take the 3rd row. Nick migh even relegate Kimi or one of teh McLaren to 5th.
