Hi,
I have a problem of bruxism but not frequently. I want to know if these will slow the results of teeth braces or loosening. I haven't start to have teeth braces but i'm thinking maybe end of the year or next year. |

Anyone planning to do their braces with Dr. Wong Mei Ling in Kajang please rethink your decision and seek a second opinion or third even. It's probably the one thing i regret the most in my life right now. Didn't know much about braces at the time so i went with what she suggested because she was so convincing. Started treatment with her in january and she extracted ONE upper premolar because my canine never came down fully ( so there's a little crowding there) . 6 months in, my face started looking sunken on one side, asymmetrical smile, wrinkles when i smile, nostril bigger on one side and my midline shifted so badly!!! when i consulted her about it, she got mad and raised her voice at me several times saying that is the only way to fix it . she never told me about the side effects. After that i went to two other orthos for a second opinion ( a little too late i know, but i just wanted validation that she's making a mistake) and they both agreed it is not ideal at all to extract that tooth. One even said how can a specialist make such a decision. Needless to say, that was all wasted time and $$ to have an irreversible damage done
Sigh, i just transferred to Dr. Reuben from WhiteSmile last month. . My current treatment now is to move my molars forward to close the gap instead of retracting my already retracted front teeth and correct the midline . I wanted to reopen the gap and have an implant put in but that is so costly and for some reason both orthos said they do not recommend it. Also i dont fancy living with metal in my gums for the rest of my life Now i dont know how feasible it is to fix this becus my arch is so uneven, and narrow on one side due to extraction . I just got two screws and a wire appliance fit in the roof of my mouth to kind of move my teeth forward. it is the most painful thing ever and i am just so full of regret. Wishing i could just have a normal braces experience like everyone else without the need of all this worry and discomfort . my bite is completely off at the moment. Hope it'll get better eventually, if at all.. if your treatment requires extractions, please rethink it. I made the mistake of trusting my first ortho completely and did not research into it myself. Extractions change your face tremendously !! Well if you were a borderline case like me (minor crowding) and could have been done without extractions. Now when i smile, only 4 teeth show cus of over-retraction and my face just looks distorted from the side. it's almost like i aged prematurely on one side and its definitely not natural @#$%%$&&*%^$#%@ |

Choosing a good Ortho is really important when it comes to getting braces done, and it's definitely worth taking time to carefully considering before committing into any treatment.
I'm also considering getting Ortho treatment and found that my dentist is not an orthodontist although he displayed a certificate of some sort of 'International Association of Orthodontist' and after research I found that being certified with that doesn't mean that he's qualified as a professional orthodontist, and apparently a dentist can just submit some work and attend a few days course in order to get certified... So now after wisdom tooth extraction done by him I've decided to take my time and keep looking for more opinions from other Orthodontist ( from now on I only select those who have been registered in the Malaysian Association of Orthodontists ). After reading previous post regarding extraction side effects it kind of make me hesitant too because I was told that I will need 4 bicuspid extraction as well although my teeth is not really that crowded and it may sound silly but I did feel like my mouth space has becoming smaller after wisdom tooth extraction. Wonder what would happen if I do 4 premolars extraction... |

I went for dental visit yesterday, and my doc gave me a pack of rubber bands and taught me how to put in on my upper and lower teeth to form a triangle
Doc said I can only take off when I brush my teeth It is super painful now Can I take it off? Can I put them on only at night? |

-I had 4 (back?) teeth extracted when I did my braces. It turned out fine.
-Best not to take off the rubber band. It hurts like a @#%^ in the beginning but gradually you'll get used to the pain. |

Hi all,
I had my braces done at David Orthdontics KL (Nearby KLCC). I would like to tell you guys don't get your braces done at this clinic!!!!! Money minded Doctor. I was misinform when I decided get my braces with them. There are a lot more hidden cost. During the treatment they charge you for scaling. Also end of the treatment they will threaten you to get an additional fixed retainer or else your teeth gonna messed up. This stupid fixed retainer which cost another RM500! In addition, during my treatment period Doctor don't bother about your gum health. All they do is just get your braces done. This caused part of my gum lost permenantly, left the gum between my teeth with a ugly hole. Also during the treatment I was always worried my teeth will go too inside. I told Doctor for several time but he just ignore me. Now all my friend comment that my teeth is too inside make me look like a fool! Also, whenever you ask him why he will just tell you it's normal to buzz you off! In the end I had to get another braces treatment done again at other clinic. There is too much unsatisfactory which I can't express all over here!! Just remember don't go this stupid money sucking clinic!!! This post has been edited by rock_Edwin: May 16 2016, 06:34 AM |

Been contemplating to get one since forever but never really have the guts to proceed due to my own paranoia with pain stories here and there.. but last month.. an unplanned visit to the ortho clinic, i just thought.. ahhh what the heck.. i do not want to be a person who will regret of things that i dare not do in life, just get it done! and there u go.. today, my 26th days of braced already.. and u know what.. now i want to bang my own head to the wall as what has been stopping me from getting the braces- the pain - its really non existence.. its nothing! apart from the pressure and a little soreness of the fronth teeth for the first 10 days, i coudl say i dont feel any pain at all.. i was like.. felling like a total idiot and regret for not doing it sooner.. haiyah.. but hey.. i am a happy lady now, as i can see the teeth had moved.. i didnt notice the movement until i snap the pic and collage it together to see the difference. for someone in thirties, hardened bone and jaw structure as many have said... i am more than happy to see the little movement... in 26 days.. yayyyyy! will share the pic later on thanks for reading mind sharing? thanks |

QUOTE(call me wenzi @ Jun 21 2016, 05:21 PM) Whitesmile Orthodontic Dental Braces Specialist at Berjaya Times Square was where I did my orthodontic treatment. Charges are reasonable, first consultation is free of charge... Still going there for annual checkup after taking off braces. Haha didn't know that other ortho charge for fixed retainer. Dr Lynette did it without charge. I feel comfortable with this clinic, everything is very clear, a lot of sample cases like my teeth. This post has been edited by ms50250: Jun 26 2016, 11:11 PM |

For those who wore self ligating ceramic(tooth coloured) braces, how much it usually cost? More than normal self ligating? And what's the usual down payment and monthly installment for those who wore it?
