Just curious, I'm getting my braces removed in 3 months. Usually how do they create our retainers? Take mould of it first then do a retainer for us? How long does this process take?

The day you debond, they should help you take the impression to do the retainer and you should able to collect it on next day afternoon. if you debond the braces and without wearing retainer more than 3 ~5 days, your teeth start run off lo.... you already 3 months without braces/retainer ?? shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

Opss.. I didn't read it correctly. doh.gif

My advice is to do two sets of retainer after debond. It cost you some money but at least the retainer have backup set. Imagine if your retainer is broken and you are too busy or oversea for week, then only can go to clinic for take impression to do retainer, basically your teeth run out a bit already and your retainer will based on your teeth condition when take impression. I am the one have this problem last time, so my retainer right now is based on my teeth a bit off one. sad.gif

I remember my doctor told me that, plastic retainer needs to be well taken care of, that's why it's cheaper brows.gif

I agree. Started putting them on back in December 2011 due to positive reviews - at that point of time he was friendly, attentive and will explain to you thoroughly regarding the procedures and how long it would take. He even put them on and reviewed them himself. That was before his "business expanded". In year 2013, the waiting period was a nightmare - there were times I had to wait for 2 hours!! It was insane and what got me really pissed off was that he started handling down his patients to his assistants/other doctors and his role was just to monitor/oversee the progress which I felt was not fair at all considering the price I paid and the expectation I had. Kept quiet and went along with it before I requested to debond in December 2013 after getting his green light (he was saying that I had a bit more to go but since I was in a rush to debond and seemed happy with my result, he gave me the green light).

A few months have passed and I wasn't pleased with some of the result - hence I returned for the 2nd treatment and was quoted an extra charge. Prolly one of the unwise decisions ever because now I felt I should have went to another orthodontist instead. Am now in the 4th month of my current treatment and what I did not like was the way he treated some of his patients, as sometimes he does not bother to sit with you or to even greet you but to only give instructions to his assistant/other dentist who would carry out the review work.

I wonder if he knows the downside of this expansion that hits him now since he lost his loyal customers who once stood by him. Yes they may have won some awards and being recognised internationally judging from the visitors they have, and the overseas seminars he flies to, but if they could not even retain and please their existing customers, what good would it do in the long run. Seems like this clinic has turned into a commercial like business without the personal touch anymore.

Why did u go back to him for your new treatment. I'm getting frustrated and I was thinking about just taking it off. But it's at a really bad state. Been wearing my braces for 26months by now and it's really still deplorable.

I don't think so wor ~ recently, I just pay a visit for check-up, the clinic is improving, environment is much better and class, the staffs are more friendly and nice~ (some are pretty too tongue.gif)
Dr. How still busy as usual but he is still very friendly and professional to all the patient (my observation when waiting for my Q~)
I saw Imperial Dental won ITMJ Medical Travel Awards 2014-Winner of International Dental Clinic of the Year !!! seem like they getting famous internationally lioa !

Yeah. The clinic is constantly upgrading. But I'm looking for braces treatment. Not looking for an environment to decide whether it's class or not. If u are expats probably u get VIP room sumore and interview. But for braces results no way. It's one of the worst decision I have ever made. I'm 26months down my treatment and my smile is upright crooked. So disheartening.

My braces was done by Imperial Dental and I was happy with the result. My friends all say the same thing:- I become so handsome 😝

Well, you need a faith on your chosen orthodontic. If they can helped so many happy patients and able received awards, surely they have their skill. Everyone teeth condition are different, so the treatment time are different too. I have some friend having braces treatment for three years plus as well. Be patient and cheer up~ results is more important than duration to me~ So far, my understanding on orthodontics is need to adjust upper and lower on many stage. Currently you lower doesn't look good is okie, I believe when finished the time, upper and lower will be nice. I think doctor also want settle the case asap ba..dragging time doesn't bring any better benefit to them. They surely want you look better and make them feel proud too. biggrin.gif
(Sorry for my poor English tongue.gif)
