For some reason I really don't think OP will take that route, despite the rumors. Have you ever seen superfluous or redundant features on a OP phone, ever? I mean they even left out wireless charging on the 6 as they thought that Dash Charge made it less of a useful feature.

I mean, even the FPS is ONLY still there probably because the face scanner is not a secure IR depth sensor type.

Besides, I don't really see the article even mentioning another FPS. "Behind the display panel" here actually means the FPS under the screen.

That said, they could still pull a crazy stunt and do it anyway lol.

Well it will be thinner than the OP6 at least.

Any thinner and they're gonna have to fold the display under itself, which is bonkers hard to do and is (supposedly) part of the reason why that X is so bloody expensive.

And OP has been pretty allergic to expensive manufacturing practices so far (thankfully).

Well by "smaller then the 6" I did mean like the Oppo R17/R17 Pro, which as widely discussed on the net is probably the main donor for the 6T physical looks, as the R15 was to the OP6.

Not sure if the R17's chin is like the Vivo V11 though, but it looks pretty similar at least to my eyes.

not sure how true is that but the article does say one plus try to do rearrangement of the internal part to fix in the finger print scanner but it will be abit thicker....not much just a little

Just to clarify, if everyone is referring to the GSMArena article linked above, they're talking about the in-screen FPS, not another FPS...

Note that "behind the display" = underneath/in-display. So yeah, there's just one.

Honestly i dont need a 6.3" screen or even a 6". They should've stuck with the 5.7" screen but reducing the overall body size. I still find the 5T too big.

The OnePlus 6's selfie camera is a 16 MP Sony IMX376K unit with a 25mm equivalent lens of f/2.0 aperture. It looks the same as the one on the 5T, but the photos don't - these are pure awesomeness. While the focus is still fixed, OnePlus has tweaked the focus distance so that you get sharp results at arm's length and plenty of detail. Those are some of the most detailed selfies we've seen.

Before I got the Op6 I too had in mind that 6inch is quite big but after I go it hands on, I don't think it's too big anymore and the size looks just right for me.

The only downside for a big screen phone is that it tends to be a little bit on the heavier side. Holding it for too long or putting it in the pocket would consciously make u feel the weight.

I actually support this TBH. Not sure why OP switched to Phablets rather then sticking to normal phone sized phones. Maybe the extra space is needed to cram the components in lol.

if it is a real deal, im down with it..... We are approaching Oct soon...just that i wish the camera had smaller F stop

emilyngsc AFAIK the IMX371 is 16MP. And if 16/4 = 4MP, the JPEG output of the selfie cam is a tad too big for 4MP files IMHO.

Questions - where will they put the proximity sensor & LED notification if the notch is going to be so small?

Fun fact, the similarly configured Oppo V9 (at least waterdrop-notch wise) doesn't actually have any LED lol. I just checked over the weekend.

The R17/R17 Pro hasn't come over these shores for me to check though, but assuming it isn't axed, it should be stuck somewhere in the receiver grill.

Proxy and Ambient Light sensor however, no idea. Should be somewhere around the grill, or maybe inside as well.

I know its unlikely due to the OPX but i would love to see 2 sizes like the galaxy series. Oh another thing which i find the most disappointing for 5T/6 is the 1080p screen. Its not helping that the screen is getting bigger as well.
