I have installed in my Honda Civic with the TNG rfid inside the car. It works well so far.

Isn't it supposed to be installed on the head lamp?
Will it works if my Wind screen got tinted?

Definitely reliable, it's been on my car for around 2 years. I was testing on Sungai Besi Expressway RFID/Smarttag lane last week and it still works smile.gif

You buy it and install on the left headlamp or left side on the outside windows. I have it on the left side of my windows outside. My only comment is try to never peel the sticker or scrub the area when you wash your car.

Sticking on the outside of the Wind screen is way too dangerous, as there is dirt and Car Wash Center might accidentally wipe it off.
Can't it be stick on the inner side of the Wind Screen?

I used the sticker and placed it inside my car windscreen. So far so good no issues. Also installed it on a Honda City eHev.

You can try it first. Put a clear plastic to secure the rfid sticker to the windscreen. Drive through a toll plaza if it works then good. However my car tint is JPJ compliant. If your car tint is darker you may have problem.

Can try. You will lose a bit of RF signal strength a bit. The transmitter at the toll booths are not the same. Some you may have problem and some no problem even with sticker on the outside. Then you have to drive slowly and person walking laugh.gif

The darkness of the tint doesnt matter. The material of the tint matters.

Dark or light tint does not affect the RF so much signal but the material used in tinting does. Those using metallic particles will reflect the RF signal until even stick on the outside also cannot work.

Why you want to remove it? The RFID works better than SmartTag

For MyVi with built-in card reader, it will be a problem if you go through lane that support both RFID and SmartTag, right?. At least not many separate lane exclusive for either one. Even with separate RFID and SmartTag lane, I find I can drive way faster through SmartTag lane than the RFID laugh.gif

Not a problem. The RFID tag is passive device. It gets its power from the transmitter and reply back to transmitter. If you transmit high power, then the transmitter can cover all lanes probably and then capture all the car RFIDs that go through the toll, of course without boom gate. However, probably they do not want to waste money on finding those passing through toll without payment like cars having fake number. Therefore, they still implement boom gate. So each line has dedicated gate. Since we still have TnG and Smart Tag with boom gate concept, it is another reason probably need to have RF transmitter for each lane. In order to prevent transmitter receiving other lane signal from RFID, they have to turn power down. This affect the sensitivity of the RFID detection. Therefore need to slowly drive through, I believe.

The good thing about the RFID is that you can top up your e-wallet through phone, unlike TnG. They said want to toping up TnG also through phone but already passed implementation date. I guess TnG will also live online with e-wallet.

Just bought a new one to install on my new car. I'm planning to install it on my head lamps. At what height should it be placed?

use IPA, dilute with water. But limit the exposure to the sticker part only, IPA is harsh on plastics, but since you're only wiping it should be fine.

Spray a bit and use a plastic/old credit card to scrap off. Hope it works!
