Is it shopee bill is through Airpay, that is why the Amex payment keep failing?

Your answer is more appropriate. Shopee Support just  ranting.gif , totally cannot answer anything correctly.
Wasted all time dealing with them.

Use Lazada bill payment instead. It is still operated by Lazada Malaysia instead of sister company, not like SEA Group (Shopee Malaysia, Airpay Malaysia). You can get weekend CB from "Lazada Kuala Lumpur MY".

If you still prefer Shopee, use SpayLater by SeaMoney Capital Malaysia Sdn Bhd (another sister company of Shopee Malaysia). But remember to settle the BNPL bill on the final weekend of every month. At this moment, if you use CC to settle, the payment will go to Shopee Malaysia (until one day in the future Seamoney Malaysia is ready to collect the payment directly, just like Airpay and ShopeePay).

Buy Now Pay Later scheme.
But not everything at Shopee you can use SPayLater, eg some Free Shipping Vouchers, mobile reload at special discount.

Aaaa. I see. I tot it was TP450?
*
It was 400TP=RM1, now 500TP=RM1 (= 0.2%) at on-the-spot-outlets, eg Parkson, Mydin, SenQ, Alpro etc.

hi - understand that M2 you need to pay Svc Tax of RM25 each card.

1) I am using Mastercard only and the AMEX is not activated.
2) Received the RM25 charge for Mastercard and also AMEX.
3) However AMEX is not activated but still get charged.
4) Since i cant request waive, is it possible to cancel the AMEX M2 card only? or if i cancel the AMEX, the Mastercard would be cancelled as well?

Thanks.

Convert to Maybank Islamic Ikhwan Visa OR MasterCard next year before anniversary date, your Maybank MasterCard + Amex will be terminated.

Or pray for GST is reimplemented in early 2023, then SST is technically removed.

Yes but can also see cases of retailers phasing out AMEX nowadays eg: Watsons
*
But there are a lot of new merchants accept Amex in the past few years, eg Lazada, Lazada Wallet, Shopee, ShopeePay, Boost, Government (eg JPJ), local supermarkets.
More places accept Amex compared to 5 years ago.
(But I may prefer to use Visa/MasterCard/UnionPay/ewallet instead of Amex now)

Lol Amex is widely accepted.
You can use it at Lazada and Shopee as well, where you can buy a lot of goods and services.

Wait you can cancel the Mastercard while keeping the AMEX active? did you walk in or do it online? I remembered asking maybank and they told me could not cancel any 1 of them unless you cancel both together
*
You can just cancel Visa/MasterCard over the phone, only for those existing card users applied before September 2018.

You can still shop online with AMEX on shopee and other online sites on weekends. You kept the useless card for no reason and got rid of the only useful cashback card that comes with the pair.  rclxub.gif

Frankly speaking, not everyone are chasing for peanuts, quite a lot of people just want convenience.

So fellow forumers, temporary or permanent request is better? Greatly appreciate if the answer comes with some explanations/reasonings.  rclxms.gif

Just need to submit your Form B/BE 2021, Maybankard Centre will permanently increase the credit limit.

Later... anytime, you can write in to reduce the credit limit permanently.

theoretically yes, due to the rounding mechanism
so he will be paying RM 25 instead of RM 50 hmm.giflaugh.gif
ermmm...i suppose he seconded the second part, convenience, instead of the peanut part
additional credit limit as backup perhaps

but i m willing to plan spending on weekend for that 'peanut', spending reward that beats savings in FD/MMF

To a lot of cardholders, they are willing to pay for SST RM25 per card (which should be abolished very soon after GST is reinstated). Nearly half of cardholders don't pay the statement balance in full. A lot of fresh graduates are happy to get their first credit card, doesn't matter no rebate or good rebate. Maybank Visa/MasterCard is good for some fine-dining places, travel deals, Lazada/Shopee discount etc.

You can spend on weekday as well for unlimited 5x TP (~1%).
Eg I paid flight ticket RM6000+ on weekday instead of weekend.

QUOTE(r21 @ Sep 1 2022, 10:36 AM)
Hi guys. I previously know that in order to secure M2U AMEX 5% weekend CB - we need to avoid swiping on Saturday mornings because of backdated transaction date. Due to transaction date follows time zone of the merchant's country.

Scenarios:
1. if swipe in M'sia - Sat 12am to Sun 11.59pm
2. if I'm overseas (eg: UK) - Sat 12am to Sun 11.59pm local time (M'sia time would be Sat 8am to Mon 7.59am)
Am I correct here?

3. So just a theoretical question. Does that mean if I'm in M'sia and purchasing something from UK website (eg: Eurostar), I can still receive CB by swiping on Monday 7am M'sia time?
*
To get weekend CB, the TRANSACTION DATE (as you can see at M2U) must be Saturday or Sunday.

I swiped at Tesco London in December (GMT, Winter Time), local time - Sunday 10pm, Malaysia Time - Monday 6am. I did receive the weekend CB.

Regarding your questions...

1. Correct 99.9%. it is rare but still possible a merchant in Malaysia may not follow Malaysia Time Zone (GMT+8).

2. Correct only from 30/10/2022 to 25/3/2023, when UK uses Greenwich Mean Time.
Currently till 29/10/2023, UK uses British Summer Time (GMT+1), 7 hours behind Malaysia. So now till 29/10/2022, you must swipe till 7am Monday Malaysia Time. But there are some websites use GMT instead of BST, so at your own risk.
https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/uk
https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/uk?year=2023

3. I can't remember Eurostar UK uses which Time Zone. But if you swipe before 7am Monday Malaysia Time, Eurostar UK's Transaction Date shall be Sunday, for ticket from London St. Pancras to Paris (or another place in Continent). I never tried from Paris to London, the payment may go to Eurostar France , then the time zone is different (BST+1 during summer, GMT+1 during Winter).

Also, some websites in UK may change the Transaction Date, eg Boots online, you swipe on Sunday, but the Transaction Date may be a weekday when the goods are ready to deliver!

does maybank2card amex provide 5% cashback for taobao?

I made a purchase during weekend, both saturday and sunday tested. Payment through revpay > maybank > amex

and I noticed there's no cash back rewarded, wondering if revpay is also considered as FPX
*
Did u get directed to M2U to complete the payment?

been to credit card center and only know that on the spot voucher redemption is no longer available.

forced to pay the additional RM15 shipping fees for redemption online..
*
Why not use the on-the-spot redemption? 500 TP = RM1 at Parkson, Mydin, SenQ, Alpro etc
