Somebody mentioned in BigPay thread that he tried and failed couple of items.
It takes time for MBB to deploy software upgrade on the existing terminals to support it.

That's why I don't get the hoo haa over the AMEX contactless since few days in this thread and other threads that mention it as the current infrastructure as far as I concerned doesn't support its usage also.

Me too. I guess they just want the feature.

I prefer not to have it, but all new cards come with it. It'll be very costly the day I lose my wallet. 250 here 250 there, 250 for each card.

There are actually instructions on the net on how to physically disable the contactless feature for people who don't want it. Not for amateurs though.

I think that is because your balance statement not include the cashback
.. once cashback in
.. your outstanding becomes lower... they only allow you to pay what you owe... so try paying outstanding balance and see... should work ... having said that ... your outstanding amount should be lower than statement amount too ...

Ok so I finally got the chance to check, my 3 options of Minimum Payment, Statement Balance, and Outstanding Balance are RM 0.00, RM 75.86, and RM 0.00 respectively. I tried to pay off the 75.86 but kept getting error [Account not authorised/Amount exceeded outstanding balance. Reject code (0076)]. Its under my VISA card so i assume its not a cashback issue?

Your outstanding balance is 0. That means you have paid off. Check your transactions.

statement balance will not change even after you made the payment
if your outstanding is 0, meaning you do not owe anything for that card dy

Statement balance will not reduce until next statement cycle. Just see your outstanding amount is reduced or not, in your case already zero means everything is cleared.

think this way.

cc statement balance = your other monthly bill statements, e.g. water bill, electricity bill, mobile bill (postpaid), unifi/broadband bills, etc

statement balance = historical billed (usage) amount. because it's a cc, you use for 1mth (i.e. statement/bill cycle), then only you got billed each "cycle" and need to pay. cc bill is like a postpaid bill. use first, pay later.

since it's a historical bill, you cannot CHANGE history information biggrin.gif what has happened (used), has happened.

back to other monthly bills, once you pay the bills, does the bill goes back to ZERO? no, right? laugh.gif

now, Oustanding Balance = tabung hutang bank laugh.gif the amount fluctuates depending on your usage (add/increase) and payment (minus/decrease).

some ppl will always payoff whenever they see any amount in Outstanding Balance. well, that defeats the benefits of having a cc. might just use Debit Card instead biggrin.gif

ok, below is a simple illustration that i did previously ...

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Dec 25 2016, 09:02 AM)
yep, but ~50 days interest free if you spend on 25-Dec only.

the 20-day interest free is from bill date, not not everyday spending will get ~50 days.

illustration...

Let me see if i got it right, whenever i use my card, it goes to Statement Balance first. Then, at the next cycle, any amount in the Statement Balance transforms into Outstanding Balance. Only when it becomes an Outstanding Balance will i be allowed to pay it off? Please correct me if im wrong

Also, the last time I forgot to pay my outstanding I got late payment penalty XD.

wrong

Outstanding Balance is the MAIN "bucket" for all your current outsanding.

on current Statement Date, the used amount is cutoff between previous statement date -> current statement date will be your Statement Balance. this is your "monthly" cc bill/statement.

same as your other bills. always a certain cutoff period, right?

make it short, ALWAYS pay STATEMENT BALANCE by DUE DATE. simple.

Ok, thats clearer but still, why am i getting an error (Amount exceeded outstanding balance) for trying to pay my statement balance? Is it because its not its DUE DATE yet? Is DUE DATE the same as CUTOFF date? Sorry I'm so bad at this hahaha

Outstanding Balance = 0

you already paid your 8 Oct bill, right?
