some salient points...

1) m2c amex contactless is very new, only offerred to new applications.
2) no replacement process yet for existing cardholders (similar to ikhwan mc), BUT the CS offered to replace it under "Damaged Card" reason  biggrin.gif
3) no replacement fee for this reason.
4) the current m2c amex would be locked and unusable for 7 working days. be advised! for me, no issue since the card is underused anyway.
5) existing TPs, instalment(s), balance tranfer(s) would be maintained.
6) card number maintained, expiry date maintained. CVV would be new (as it should be).
7) new card can be delivered to mailing address or maybank branch.

right got it ... when did they have this "new" upgrade for Amex? din't even bother to inform the customer.
I've been wanting this wave features on my Amex since day 1.

My colleagues renewed theirs this month already have. Not sure since when.
Well, actually none of us knows if AmEx contactless is already ready in Malaysia's CC terminals, just that the CC has contactless now.

Hi everyone, this is my 1st time posting here
I am a fresh graduate, yesterday just went to maybank card centre at 1 utama to apply this card
any idea how long does it take to get approve for the card application?

1. Perhaps they just future-proof the Amex card. When the terminals are here, they don't have to upgrade the entire 1Malaysia.

2. Perhaps other countries already have the terminal. People who has the contactless edition can use it abroad.

assuming approved without complications, should be ready by today (within 1 working day if done from card centre). you should receive a call by 1U card centre for collection later.

An update regarding upgrade to AmEx contactless card. I just applied for it at The Gardens card centre.

Initially, the staff declined my request saying there is no such contactless card for AmEx. Luckily my colleague was with me, so showed her renewed card. They checked and came back telling I can replace it.

Unfortunately, going through card centre will not get this replaced on the same day unlike my Ikhwan MC replacement which I got it few hours later. It has to go back to HQ and takes 7 working days. I will collect from The Gardens when it is here.

From tomorrow onward, my card will be blocked until new card arrives. During this period, not even online transactions can be done. Staff helped me to fill in the form and put it as "broken" for the reason and replacement will be F.O.C.

My experience almost similiar as fruitie here

only differences is i call them and blasted them and insist on paywave Amex (they keep saying no such thing) then i ask her to call her manager.

Manager came told me will check and update back. sure enough told me got ok can approved. the rest is same as fruitie blah blah 7 working days
same card number, etc etc

i din't even use broken card tactics. biggrin.gif

funny i can use my card until i activate the new one.

I didn't use broken tactic but the staff filled in that way. sweat.gif

You sure can use? Maybe just for today as the staff mentioned, tomorrow onward will be blocked.

they told me cannot as yesterday is weekend, office staff not working

What's the hype of the contactless enabled card if it is not even supported locally?

Those who got it should just go to try it at McD or Watson. Both can support AMEX.

Maybe new terminals will come with RFID while they phase out old ones?

Seems like MBB is going to lose many visa/master card users which tie together with their amex. The card center also suggest me to cancel it after i get my FCB. (If i manage to get tongue.gif )
