XTR cranks are known to break under heavy pressure..

But reviews all over says that XTR is currently the best? I think it is also... But the price is really high la..

QUOTE(dickybird @ Aug 27 2007, 11:01 AM)
how much for the carbon fibre front fork?
and what do you use to degrease you drivetrain?
*
Not sure about the price... I only asked about the complete bike displayed there, he says about Rm10-12k depending on settings... haha.. a rigid bike for 10k! But i think about 7-9kg weight only..

I just normally wipe with WD40 and relube with sewing machine oil especially between links. Rarely do that anymore nowadays.

DH use very short stems right? falt bars can kua? but i think you can see in the mags, even the north shore riders will monkeybars rather than flat.
so i think, flat bars are more for XC.
wd40 is bad for bikes! i never use that stuff, it's just going to buy the branded bike cleaning stuff is just a hassle and too expensive. can get away with using car and engine cleaners from Eneos ah?

If your going for DH, its better that you get a riser and a wide handlebar. It would be more stable. This is the opposite for XC as if you compete in XC races, you need to be picky on where you place your bike and a not so wide handle bar would suit you.

Then again, it all comes down to preference. Im using a DH stem and a riser for XC/AM

why u say wd40 bad for bikes? Used engine degreaser on my drivetrain over the weekend....works very well...not sure of the long term effect though but if can use for car...don't see any reason why can't use on bike

it's just not a good idea. dirts can easily stuck onto you drivetrain in terms of mtb.

Think bout it.

Would you want more traction on where you're heading or more speed/power?

Pedaling can be controlled. Power can be channeled. Braking can be suppressed. On the other hand, can u turn your bike fast enough, accurate enough if you don't have grip?

wider at the front and thin at the back.
my team control front tyre has lots of block like tread to help bite into the ground and steer.
my rear tyre is a panaracer fire xc rear that has side to side bar tread for propulsion.
well ate least it used to be that way, hmmm i wonder if they are still in the store room at my parent's house.
right now, i right around the taman and go get the paper on specialized hemispheres that look like kapchai tyres. thinking about getting some really botak slicks! now that will really lower rolling resistance.
or should i do a transmission upgrade from 24 spd to 27spd?

Went to look at handlebars at the shop just now. Got a FSA low rise for RM70, might consider...but the design is ugly and I wanna go uphill. Haha..

It's all about how you feel. It's only a lil bit more uphill suffering for more DH control. Hahaha
