Strange....if you have meltdown and spectre mitigation enabled, try to disable it and test your speed again. hmm.gif

Just wonder if there is a bug/default setting in TP Link 1200 that limit the upload speed? Tq
*
It isn't TPLink bug, more like TM side bug.
In some TM exchange, one has to change the PPPoE MTU value in order to get higher upload speed. Try one by one? No idea which MTU value that might work. laugh.gif

Thanks for the feedback. Wow that’s quite weird, the default value is 1480 right? Any magic numbers?

Maybe 1460 or 1420?

im getting a speed boost by enabling ipv6 getting up to 650mbps, but the cpu load is always at 100%, so i expect the modem to crash at some point soon. im on eu firmware now.
*
Question....are you sure QOS is disabled and NAT Boost is enabled? hmm.gif

Check IPv4 and IPv6 speedtest here. http://www.myspeedmeter.net/ Taiwan server please.

Is it a requirement to enable ipv6 for turbo-boost? I used to use it, but some webpage return unavailable. Ipv4 no problem at all. Using the Cloudflare DNS.
*
Not really, you can get full speed with IPv4 NAT acceleration (WAN <---> LAN), but you gotta give up on traffic statistics and QOS.

QOS disabled, Nat boost enabled. but its a rubbish router, i have a mi 3g flashed to padavan, gonna do a speed test on it later.
*
Is it? blink.gif C1200 hardware is good, too bad its firmware sucks. It actually has the same SOC as Asus RT1200G.

Strange that no one wanna post their IPv4 and IPv6 speedtest. I think I had asked few users to do so....but so far, no one..... ohmy.gif

What is the upload speed for 800Mbps? According to SoyaCincau it should be at 200Mbps but I am not going pass 100Mbps. Possible of mistakenly capping my upload?  cry.gif
No QOS or anything and tried restarted. If download can do it, why not upload?  confused.gif

Try TM Speedtest. Remember, TM only guarantee 90% downstream and upstream for local connection in Malaysia only.

yeah, and actual early birds paid RM199 for 5Mbps years back.
early birds paid RM149 for 10Mbps Unifi Lite.
early birds paid RM160 for 8Mbps Streamyx.

life's like that, nothing's fair.

but there's always a chance in the future.
maybe not now, but though TM's unfair pricing is known,
there's always promo/bonanza/etc. throughout the year.

not sure how it's going to be next year though,
but with Maxis coming into the game and probably TIME or other players
lurking around the corner, suck it up and wait for the tide to calm down a bit.

p/s : being blind as i said in the previous post is for those who
compared 100Mbps Post-Turbo@ RM129 vs. 100Mbps @ RM169~RM329 Pre-Turbo.

learn to read between the lines when you come across such promotional ads coming from resellers.
*
Price competition aside, I really hate that long term contract. Back in streamyx day, it was 1 year contract. Why do all fiber offerings have minimum 2 years contract? ranting.gif

Double confirmed:
Tm website admin accidentally updated the title (the words u see on the tab of yr browser) of the page early. The title is:
"unifi Home Fibre - Turbo ahead with Malaysia! Now, 100Mbps for RM 129"
*
I think 90% of existing unifi fibre subscribers will ask "Turbo ahead with Malaysia? Turbonya mana? Habuk pun tarak"

Yeah, same here. I am paying RM259 monthly for 100Mbps + Ultimate Pack.

Anyway, I am turbo-ed already. Did some tests and trying to achieve the 800Mbps but all tests return negative. I am posting this here to educate some of the users on how to properly check.

Using CAT5E Cable (Black Colored)
[attachmentid=10011997]

Using CAT5E Cable (White Colored)
[attachmentid=10011999]

Using CAT5E Cable (Red Colored)
[attachmentid=10012000]

Using WIFI 2.4 GHz
[attachmentid=10012001]

Using WIFI 5 GHz
[attachmentid=10012002]

Please bear in mind, current router that I am using is ASUS RT-AC68U which has the capabilities of supporting 800Mbps on LAN. Wifi should be maxed out at 500Mbps realistically and 1300Mbps theoretically. I am sitting 1 meter away from the router and of course there are obstructions like my TV and so on. Hence, the degraded WIFI signal. What fascinates me is the LAN speed. I can deduce that all cables that I have might not be good enough or it was done/crimped poorly. And I can also deduce that my laptop WIFI adapter can only support 2x2 MIMO.

Going to conduct some further tests once I get my CAT6 cable.

Thanks for reading, hope this enlightens some if not all of the readers.

Err....change speedtest server? Webe server tends to be overloaded and incapable of speed testing 800Mbps........

Lies.

When the turbo eligibility check was up. One of my account expected date for upgrade is Jan - June 2019.
I contacted TM and ask if my BTU and Router records are updated properly in TM database. They confirmed my BTU model (correct 240G + serial number too) and router model (TP C1200).
Doesn't make sense for TM to set the turbo upgrade till next year for my case.

Then go ahead and terminate your UniFi then re-register with the new 100Mb/s @ RM129 plan
Make sure to do both at the same day as nowadays UniFi got very limited port everywhere
*
Nope, remember the 30 days early notification of termination?
Plus another 30 days grace period before new registration can be done?

Edit: i think lamppost is safer...
Well some people in the uk have even suggested running ethernet over powerline over the lamppost power supply. Wow

Are you seriously suggesting power theft? sweat.gif

One of my 3 accounts finally got the turbo upgrade.
Unfortunately.. it is not my main account  bangwall.gif

Still using Huawei HG850a somemore (4 fast ethernet network ports)  sweat.gif

But, it is exactly as the rhombuscake (managed to check before tm sorta killed off its functionality since it's a 3rd party site) website said.. this particular account will be upgraded first.

Probably gonna login with that account here and see if I can get the turbo speed since the address is still at the same building. I recall doing something similar last time at another address where the house had 2 unifi accounts, one is VIP20 one is VIP5. I logged in to the VIP5 router using the VIP20 credentials (which was connected to the VIP5 btu of course) and got 20Mbps on speedtest.
*
Which mean those who Eligibility Check with status Jan - June 2019......will be turbo-ed next year. bangwall.gif

So far, I don't see anyone here who had checked with TM eligibility check with Jan-June 2019 date getting their turbo yet.

can i make the two band wifi ( 2.4ghz & 5ghz) into same SSID with same PW on DIR850L? will the device auto choose the best signal between these two band ? i find so frustrated when i get week signal on 5ghz and i need to manually switch to 2.4ghz myself everytime. is that possible ?
*
Nope......850L has no band steering functionality.
